Simple but fun, huge fan of the art as well. I hope you'll find the time after the jam to update with a win state!
Thank you! It is certainly on our todo list :)
Art is simple but effective, especially the animation on the farmer face. Reading the other comments I see that it's not possible to beat, you might want to make a note of that on the game page because the framing does make it feel like the goal is to wake the farmer.
Thanks, yes definitely learned lessons on leading players astray with this one. The original concept was about the inevitability about being replaced by tech in that the farmer replaces you with an alarm clock, but the game didn't really click with that and then we went a bit harsh with inevitable death. I feel like this experience is what game jams are all about :) thank you very much for playing and your feedback!
This was haaarddd, but very addicting to finish it. Alas, I didn't but it is such a good game, great job!
A little too hard is the general feedback... in that it is impossible to win... glad you had a good time playing it regardless! thank you!
is it possible to not become a pie? :0 , big fan of the art direction though and enjoyed the simplicity of this!
It is inevitable to become a pie in its current form... thanks so much for playing and dropping a line!
Didn't expect it to be this hard! The highest I got was 87%. I think it'd be better if crows added more to the wakeness meter when the hitzones spawn higher up, otherwise it feels like getting punished by pure randomness.
The art and sound effects are great, as are the screen shakes. The sunrise animation in the back is especially cool :)
That's a great score! Also a good point about the fairness of the randomness of where the line is positioned. We have some of the feedback elements linked to line height so percentage of 'awakeness' would be a good thing to add to that. Thanks so much for playing and the suggestions!
This is quite a unique idea, fits the theme of the jam well! The art is great, the farmer animations are very cool. I was able to get only about 60% awake, so i guess im a pie now)
Thank you!
I liked the art a lot. I kept getting white lines only at the top, which kept my percentage low...
Thanks very much! Did that happen on multiple attempts? The line positioning is random so hopefully it was just unlucky rather than a bug!
yeah it did I’m so jealous of the 89% guy below me lol
It was a fun one. But how do we win this, I did so many tries and I thought I’m doing all on time, but still I’m not able to reach 100%
Is it possible or am I doing something wrong.
Thanks so much for playing! Sorry it is not possible to win... we were playing around with a few ideas about a rooster losing it's job to tech (an alarm clock) but it didn't really work as a concept. We landed on getting cooked but didn't have time to add the win state...
Oh, that’s unlucky.
Well see you in Brackeys.
It’s a challenging game; I only made it to 89%. I also found a bug: if you hit the white sector once and then quickly hit it again, the rooster crows even when the white sector isn't visible.
Thanks so much for playing and leaving a review! We were playing with the idea of a win-less game, but once we realised it would be better with a win state, it got a bit close to the deadline for the jam! I think 89% is better than any of our scores and we will definitely update the game after the jam to include some fair win states :) Thanks again for playing!
