Good game! I really liked the mechanics. At first, I was a bit confused by the dark patches, I thought they were obstacles, but it made sense after playing for a bit. Congrats on finishing the game!

This reminded me of the ship combat minigame in Monkey Island 3, but done far better!

Developer

I haven't played it, but now I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the reference and thanks for playing

Arrrrr ... what's not to like about a pirate game =)

I really love  the vibe and action of your entry. It's just fun to fire the cannons!

The art style is amazing. Unfortunately, its scale is not well suited for the low resolution. The limited view distance prevents the full potential of the gameplay.

I wanted to play much longer though. So please add more content =)

thanks for playing. It was tough making it work somehow at 64x64. I have some plans to expand it, as well as a better resolution :)

Yarr, a pirate entry! Sprites are lovely and controls are very intuitive! One little thing I would change is to make the ship indicator blink faster on the map, but that is practically inconsequential. Great work and also amazing to see it done in a custom engine! :)

thanks. Good feedback, Ill update it after the jam ends

Beautiful game, very nice music and sfx, my only nitpick would be that I would have liked to be a bit more zoomed out. Other than that, this is a very solid entry, well done!

Developer

thank you

Beautiful game, you really packed a punch with this 64x64 resolution. Love the mood of the game, the peaceful music, the encounters - overall really enjoyable experience. Really cool to see a custom engine as well!

Very clean color palette.  I could see adding a telescope item that lets you move the camera over a little, but the yellow/red rings were a good way of giving the player information despite the screen size limitation.

Developer

thanks, the tiny 64x64 does get in the way, but part of the fun as well

The visual style is very charming, and blasting things with my cannons was satisfying. The music felt at odds with the vibe of the game to me, something more lively would be good or even no music might have worked better. The game's simplicity made it a satisfying treat, but I would have liked to see the experience expanded on more.

Developer

thanks, yeah.. need to find better music

Classic concept and very approachable! Great work on the rotating ship sprite, though the white outline feels a bit stark visually. A tiny suggestion on the audio: the music feels a bit too soft for the action—something punchier and more “piratey” would match the energy of firing thy cannons!

Developer

thanks for playing. I agree with you on the music, need to find something more appropriate

I found the game too easy. The combat needs to be more of a challenge. The presentation is excellent.

Developer

thanks for playing. I should be able to tweak the combat

Now I want the same game but bigger with some more pixels :p Very cool, lovely adventure, superb visuals, well done

Developer

I'm contemplating a hi-res version. thanks for playing

It was fun! Great art, sound, idea. I literally leant from you.

This was an awesome experience. I love the gameplay and artwork. I can see this game being expanded upon further. Amazing game, my friend!

thanks for playing. I'm still adding a few things, so stay tuned for the final version that should be ready before the jam deadline

I really like how you tell the user the controls initially. It’s on screen until they do it, and then poof. I might need to steal that idea in the future! ;)

Developer

thanks for playing. Its all the 64x64 limitation. Had me wondering how to explain players how to play within the tiny res
