Theme explanation
We incorporated "Layers" on two levels. Mechanically, the greenhouse garden works through overlapping layers — foliage, roots, and light — which players can toggle between to see how each plant quietly affects its neighbors beneath the surface. Narratively, potion orders start out as simple, lighthearted requests, but a more personal and darker story gradually surfaces, layer by layer, as the game progresses.

Cute game. The growing and day night mechanics are real cool.

very ambitious game, wow! the mechanics go very in depth, and for a first time doing pixel art, i say you did a pretty good job! i think it could do with more polish especially on the audio side, if that's an idea you ever feel revisiting :)

You said you were doing pixel art for the first time?, the witch´s house looks pretty actually.

I do appreciate that you have a tutorial too, it helps a lot.

Thank you so much, and yes, this really is my first time. My drawing isn't perfect, but I can only get better! Thanks for testing the game. The project's talented developer spent a lot of time on the tutorial, and he'll be happy to read your comment.

This was great! I appreciated how the tutorial took us through step by step and was easy to understand. There's so much to this game that I'm really impressed you achieved in such a short time: the day/night cycle, foraging, animation of the grimoire, the cursor turning into an arrow and more. I particularly like the plant management system where you have to think about time and humidity AND sun, plus the little detail that the water level goes down when you water! I did find that there was some visual clutter when it came to the witch's room, which could probably be easily solved with just having a bigger room (like the greenhouse). I think this was a tremendous effort overall tho so great job :) ❤️

Your feedback on the game is really sweet, thank you so much for that. Yes, we were pretty ambitious and inspired for this jam, which might explain why the game is full of bugs and the gameplay balance isn’t quite there yet. But we’d really like to improve it and finish this project properly after the voting for this jam is over. <3

Very fun game. I love the concept and style. The only thing I would add is some more information in the plants tab about what bonuses they provide when fully grown, it took me quite a minute to figure out how to get enough light for my lavender stack. Great work!

Fun game!

Loved the idea and the feeling, I had a lot of fun.
Small question though : Is there a way to improve our garden to have more light ? I feel like I can't grow lavender but maybe it's just me being lost ahah

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing the game and for your feedback. As for your question: when a plant reaches maturity, it provides bonuses to the others (including light ;) ). Keep in mind that most plants offer other bonuses too <3—it’s a magical greenhouse!

oooh i didnt realize ! I'll try again. So fun thanks !

I love the concept of this game! The ambition is showing, and it is still pretty fun to play! You did greet for this jam, thanks for this fun experience! ❤️

Oh, thank you so much, we're really touched.

Great concept! And what a scope you took on, very bold

I think the game mainly lacks polish. A lot of the UI is very basic. Lots of menus where there could be something more fun to interact with, very little in terms of sounds outside of the music. That said, once I warmed up to it, it drew me in and kept me playing for a good while. Well done!

Developer

I totally agree with you, we were ambitious with this jam. I had planned for more UI elements, and the game lacks balance in terms of both visuals and gameplay, but we ran out of time. Thanks a lot for the feedback and for trying out the game; we really appreciate it.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, we didn't really have time to finish the game, so we had to ship it in a state that's pretty hard to play. Thanks anyway for pointing out the positives :). I'll try to test out your game too later today.

Very cute little game. Was fun to try and figure out where to plant which seeds. Great game <3

Oh, thank you so much for trying out the game. I'm really touched that you enjoyed playing it; I still have room for improvement, but I enjoyed making it.
