I really liked the Weasel, loved the lighting animations! Congrats on finishing the project!
Charming little adventure you have here~ The movable power cord was a nice detail. I also really like the backgrounds, especially the outside part. And the weasel sprite is adorable! :)
This is super neat. Loved the weasel sprite animation! Suitably weasel-y, I think. I did have issues finding the control room — I had to vent inside, was that the only way in? Jumps were also a wee bit floaty, but on the other hand I was able to eat fireflies as a weasel and parkour around, so, we take that. The radio was a really neat touch, too, with the public domain broadcast snippets. Also loved all the background details in the sprites (the "placeholder-y" signs and such made me grin). Well done!
Love the weaseling about! It was interesting figuring out what to do and where to go with the little puzzles. Great job!
The weasel was very well animated, but the jump was way too floaty for my liking and sometimes a little unclear what you could stand on and what not. but other than that it was fun to play.
The game is a pure vibe, very atmospheric. I especially like the weasel sprite. :)
Really nice atmosphere and graphics! I agree that it would be nice to see yourself on the map :)
Really strong mood here — the night scene packs a lot into 64x64 (moon and stars up top, the bare tree, the little home, and that cross-section of earth down to the water). It sells "storm's coming, get out" without a word of text. Smart call making the play camera zoomed-in and intimate and then putting the whole layout on the M map/hints overlay — that's a clean answer to how hard navigation gets at this resolution, and it kept me oriented while still feeling like I was burrowing around in the dark. WASD + Esc-to-close felt natural. One small note: after closing the map I wasn't 100% sure of my immediate next objective, so a one-line nudge on the hint panel ("dig toward the ___") might help newcomers commit faster. Lovely atmosphere overall — nice work!
I really love the animation of the weasel. Had fun just moving around =)
The puzzles are simple, but nicely implemented with love for details.
Great game jam entry you have there!
The best Weaselvania I’ve played!
Real nice! I made it to Burg in 16:16, having made a lot of misses and bad decisions along the way :D
It might be helpful to highlight the player’s position on the map. For a while, I was confused by the blinking indicator, thinking that was me (“but i just moved! i can’t be there!”).
I was using a gamepad, and it was a little annoying having Up for jump, and lots of other buttons (eg why are doors a different button than other interactions?). But that’s just a nitpick.
Love the mystery of it all, like figuring out what the game is all about is part of the game. Well done!
Thanks a lot for the feedback. And congrats on finishing!
Until now, I've never put much effort into gamepad support, so this really helps and I will try to make my future games fully playable with gamepad.
And I hear you with the map thing! I think for the map to be like I would want it, it would need a lot of changes.
