Usually, in ranked game jams on itch.io, all submissions are ranked from the highest-rated to the lowest-rated. However, I will put a highlight on the top 3 on the main page. To clarify! By “one submission per member”, is that referring to a limit on the amount of tracks? (like 1 track ONLY or multiple within the 1:30 - 8:00 length as mentioned? Thanks!)

Each participant may submit one entry containing one track, lasting between 1:30 and 8:00. I will check to make sure everything is clearly explained in the "Your Submission" section.

basically you choose which level you want to make the song at. let's say you want to make a Level 4 Precision song. That means that you have to include elements from Level 4 and below. If you choose Level 2, then you only have to do Level 2 and 1. you get to decide.

Yes, absolutely. You keep all rights to your music. Participating in the jam does not transfer ownership of your work to me or to the jam.

Clarifying questions:

- There are people who have used notation software instead of a DAW - would you mind clarifying whether something that is following the spirit of the rules (but not the letter) is allowed?

- Regarding genAI use - is the cover art considered part of the submission?

Yes. The intention of the rule is that participants create the music themselves using composition software. Notation software such as MuseScore, Sibelius, Finale or Dorico is allowed.

About the cover art, the prohibition of AI only concerns the project itself and does not apply to the cover image. However, I highly encourage participants to use non-AI artwork if they are able to do so.
