Very cute game. I don't really get the point of the bigger sword, since it shrinks after some time, but it's funny

Submitted

seems like a cool idea, tho I cant get the sword to get bigger, no matter how many slimes I kill, the map could also get more attention but overall with some more work it will be a nice game

Developer

If you run around in a circle to gather a lot of slimes you can usually kill them all and get the bigger sword, see if that helps!

I really wished my bat had a wider range from the start, but after all the mouse-aiming and thinking-heavy games I've played for this jam, it was honestly really refreshing to have something very simple and easy to pick up and understand.

Developer

I'll take that first bit into consideration. Thanks for playing!

Cool game! I’m always terrible when it comes to needing to have good reflexes, but this was fun to play. Congrats on the first GWJ submission

Developer(+1)

thank you! I got farther into your game BTW.

Ahh, that’s awesome, great job! I feel like based off of your screenshot you’re already 10x better than I am at it.

It turns out I am just not good at games lol.

Developer

If anyone wants to try... my record is 538! Try to beat it!

I couldn't seem to get the sword to get any bigger. Wonder if I'm doing something wrong? I got up to 58. Seems like the slimes get crazy fast right before I die. The little slime guys are adorable btw.

Developer

yeah... I've been told that it's hard to charge the battery up fully. A good strategy to get charge is to run in a circle to gather slimes and take groups out. I'll get an post jam update out for anyone who wants it to be a bit more balanced (couple more features coming too!)

Submitted

Pretty tough initially, They're quite unforgiving slimes!
Good start! I liked the feeling of gathering a bunch of slimes up at once and taking a few out with a single swing. Would love to see some sound/particle effects to go along with it!

Developer

that is one of my favorite strategies too! I agree that sound effects would have made it better. Where do you get your sound effects from? I would love to know!

You've just reminded me that i forgot to post a credit to them on the page!

I like to use this one for prototyping, but end up sticking with them in the end product a lot. A wide variety of nice crunchy/retro sounds.

Played on touchpad initially, that felt a bit masochistic :D But with "normal" mouse pretty fun game, more difficult that I initially thought. Had fun :)

Developer(+1)

Touchpad is a very... interesting experience. But good to know you had fun!

Good job! As another comment mentioned, it just takes too long to get an upgrade, which makes the game a bit too difficult when just starting out to play. I would have also liked a bit more UI design apart from Godot's default buttons, you can try out themes and styleboxes in your next project! I also made a game about charging batteries, check it out if you want to get some inspiration

The UI person on our team was busy so I had to jimmy rig something to make sure it got done. Will definitely look more into UI though!

I really liked the little slimes! I would have liked it if the charge on the sword was slightly shorter, because I felt like I was mostly kiting the enemies around to stay alive. High Score 105 ;)

Developer

I used a system that synced the battery charge with the time so I really just wanted to keep the existing art instead of making new ones. I was told that it was a bit hard to get by some of my friends so I did make it a little easier :)
