Great first jam game!  There were a few hiccups in understanding the process, but I made it through!

The VOD for the review is linked below, and will be available for 60 days: (I took a 2nd look at the game, as I wasn't fully present for the 1st)

Thank you so much for checking out my game, and featuring/reviewing it on stream. There's some really good feedback in here, some of which I've heard from before or was aware myself, and some that was new. It's really cool watching/hearing someone else experience the game and see how they interact with it, and their thoughts as they go through it. Thanks!

This was very cute! You have potential for greatness if that is what you seek.

took me a sec to understand I had to move over and click the release button instead, but you did explain it pretty clearly, so maybe that's on me. Not bad first game though!

Cat-cart says trans rights <33 Very good first solo game! I missed some sounds, it would have been perfect

Mild bug, when you hit "maximum cat" and the cat leaves the trans pride rainbow, it doesn't get removed after you hit "next run". Overall fun and good use of the theme!

Developer(+1)

Technically, it gets removed (it trails for something like 250 units). When the next run is hit, it moves the cat back to the starting coordinates, and in doing so, creates a new tail going to the left now. All that is to say, I ran out of time to troubleshoot it. 😁

Thank you for trying out my game!

Solid idea! In my view, this just needs a few finishing touches you should consider for your next jam: Some sounds are better than none, so you can just grab some from a website like pixabay. Generally speaking, accessibility is often overlooked, but is a crucial factor. You should try to add some sort of way to change the difficulty, since not everyone will be able to click fast enough due to physical constraints. I would also choose a more readable font (can still be pixel art though!). Overall a very good job and a unique idea, maybe you'll manage to add the finishing touches after the jam is over!

Not bad for the first game. I would probably add consumable items so you have to think how to use them to reach maximum distance. It will add more strategy to a game

Developer

Thanks for playing!  Initially, I had dreams of making a modular upgrade system where you could mix and match parts with different strengths and tradeoffs to optimize the run, maybe a skill tree thing to unlock, but I had to dial everything wayyyy back for the jam. I might continue on with it on the side and see what it can become.

Very satisfying to get the cat to max speed. Loved how it ends up flying in the end haha.

Developer

Thank you! The "ending" came together at the last moments, I'm really happy with how it turned out, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Hold on game is actually peak?! This is not what I expected!

I would rate this gggame 5 star

Thank you!

Congrats on the game! ^^ At first, I didn’t understand what the “New Unlock” button was for, so I thought I was supposed to click it every time XD

Developer(+1)

Thanks for checking out my game (and I loved your game!).  I ran out of time (like we all do!) to polish things up more, like explaining or showing *what* was unlocked, etc. Thanks!

Nice work on your first game! I was able to figure everything out (though I would have liked to better understand what the upgrades were). I liked the payoff of getting to level 3 and flying into space! Some sfx and music would have been a nice thing to add to give impact to everything. Or a meow when you run out of charge.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I ran out of time for sounds/music (or at least anything that would add more than it took away).  I learned a *lot* making it, so hopefully next jam I'll be able to budget time better.  Thanks for checking out my game, and for the feedback!
