How does the game fit the theme?
The relics and "upgrades" you find can't be trusted until you uncover what they actually do. One of the characters may also not be what they seem...

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
We used public assets for most 3D models and animations, and bought a character pack for all enemies in the game. Credits are in the Description :)

All code and and 2D art were made during the jam.

Honest opinion:

A lot of work.  Mechanics seem to work fine.  But game is very unoptimised, it's especially noticable when shader effects occur.  I had to stop playing as it slowed down too much.  I managed to walk off map at one point, but it wasn't game breaking.

Music doesn't fit at all.  You've got a rock track to a fantasy setting.  It's a complete mismatch.

The theme is there, but it's really just felt like a small side mechanic.

The whole idea of not knowing what an item actually does until you use it works really well with the jam theme — every new piece of loot makes you question whether you should even touch it I also really liked the music and the minimap, they add a surprising amount to the overall feel of the game.

The game did get pretty noticeably laggy for me at times, especially during combat. If the performance gets a little more polish, I think the whole experience would feel much better. But the core dungeon crawler idea is really fun!

Thanks so much for checking it out, Rae! I'm so glad you like the music; it was super fun to make! I noticed that the game gets pretty laggy during the first fight, but once the enemy assets are loaded, it's pretty smooth if you ever want to give it another shot.

Thats a nice game !!! Love the art!

I find the music to surprising when I start, it'd be better to have a softer start! Also you could have made a good loading screen!

The game is great and I liked it!

loot you cant identify until you use it is a proper trust no one twist on a dungeon crawler, and the hand drawn key art is a delight against the 3d. the descend button never took my click in browser tho so i only saw the menu, difficulty names are funny

Thanks so much for playing! This was our first 3D game on itch.io, so I'm sure it could be better optimized.
