How does the game fit the theme?
It fits the theme for in the wild west an outlaw can't trust no one but himself.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Everything for Deadman's Hand was made in house by hand.

There are a lot of cool things going on in this game. It could easily be expanded into many directions :) Well done team.
the poker table itself and the dealer portrait are genuinely creepy in a good way. the music fits nicely, I love the art, nice game
Thank you!
Nice game with cool atmosphere (:
The music fits nicely with the setting. Maybe utilizing old piano bar sounds with stride piano style music would be fitting here because this is usually what you hear in these kind of scenes
Love the game. Artstyle and music really well made. The weapons feel very slow though, even if you have good hands, or the ennemies might just have too much hp. Anyway great job! Would love to see the finished product if this is just a demo.
Thank you! working to have a better balance in the future!
hand-made with love! Love your artstyle, pretty enjoy!
Thank you!
It's a fun game! I'm totally hooked. It would be even better if the first drink were free, though.
Yeah we had to cut a bit of stuff to make time, but Adder(the guy in green) was supposed to grab drinks for you and himself. Glad the games got you hooked though, just wait for whats next...
Took a while to understand, but it's a very cool idea. I do think the combat would need some work, the enemies all follow you and clump around so all you have to do is run around in a circle. Otherwise, well done! I love the art style
Working to try to fix some of the bugs for the next update, Thank You!
I was totally ready to play some weird poker variant, and then bam I'm in a survivors-like-ish fighting for my life! I enjoyed the twist, because I suck at poker.
A few things were a little unclear (luckily I read the page description so understood the card/hand idea) and could have used a bit more information about the gun choices before picking, on the other hand I pretty much just always chose whatever I had the highest numbers for rather than picking based on the gun...
Could definitely see this expanding with more roguelike mechanics and upgrades and stuff feeling really good.
The shop seemed like an interesting idea but I was never able to use it, I finished the game after picking up all coins and still only had $18. Probably needed either a lot more coin drops or lower prices there (also Davo totally scammed me, saying I could get a drink on him and not paying up, it's almost like you can't trust that guy or something.) Guessing this is partly RNG, but maybe some flat reward for each stage would help.
Music and audio was great, the art was a little inconsistent (super understandable and relatable for jam polishing priorities) but visually everything was clear and understandable while playing.
Great job! I look forward to seeing what you do with your plans for it.
Thank you! We hope to keep expanding upon the game in the future!
It was a little hard to understand what to do but this was definitely a very unique concept. Good job!
Thank you! we'll try to add better instructions in the future!
at first i thought this will be a card game but when i started the mission i had no idea what i was doing lmao. eventually, i figured out u could swap out cards and use a different weapon which actually helped me a lot. i did the first level but i didnt manage to do the second one because i was on 1hp and i was surrounded. i unfortunately had 19 coins so i couldnt buy health :c
Thank you for playing! We're trying to have better instructions in the future!
I'm not strong in card games but I like the overall atmosphere
Thank you!
this is a nice game i can say :)
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
if u have time do rate mine aswell!
I like the sound effects! At first, I thought it was just a card game, something like Texas hold'em, but then suddenly a bunch of people showed up lol. And when the deadmen appeared, I got killed immediately. I tried several times but still be killed.
This game is pretty good! It gave me more than I was expecting for sure! I like the action mixed into the cards, I personally don't like card games, but I love shooting games, so this definitely broadened my horizons. I think some more abilities would be nice, but it is still amazing.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the game, and we do plan on working on it alot more, and submiting a way more in depth demo to NextFest on steam in October, so hopefully you'll see us there!
I thought it was a card game, but then I clicked the black chip and 20 enemies spawned right in front of me. That scared me. It’s my first time seeing a mix of cards and shooting, and it’s pretty interesting. The animations in some scenes are really smooth, but the game could still use some guidance for new players. Nice work!
Being my first game jam, I really tried my hardest getting the walking animation down pat so that the character wasn't just "sliding across the screen"
Thanks for the compliment!
Incredible art, and an uh interesting concept, i loved the atmosphere and music!
Hey! Thanks for complementing the art! My biggest hope is that i can improve upon the visuals once we work on the game outside the game jam, thanks for the comment!
This game is incredible!!! The art is one of the best I seen in all the game jams I was in! Really really well done!!!
Btw when you have time rate my game Authorized Unknown I would really appreciate it

Yes I most certainly will, I plan on streaming a bunch of them Wednesday night!
Great!! Have a good day
Thanks for complimenting the art! I worked very hard on it :)
I really like the artstyle but I didn't really get the gameplay? Did the poker game affect the fight somehow?
Yes, the higher the card number the higher the bonus damage of the weapon that correlates. and the skull cards do different on hit effects. Such as Bonus damage, damage over time, and a slow.
It's now more explained on the game's page in the description!
Hey! thanks for complimenting the art! As Erastus has stated we are trying to clarify things where needed, if you haven't i would try playing the downloadable version, some of the issues i had from the browser were fixed once I played there.
