Ranked from 35 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

How does the game fit the theme?
ON ONE is a rhythm-based first person shooter where instead of "Trust(ing) No One", you shouldn't Trust No. 1.
Enemies appear with a countdown above their heads and you can only take them down the moment it hits "1", all synced to the beat.
It isn't as simple as it seems though. Sometimes, the countdown will jump back to a higher number. Watch the numbers and learn the hard way why you should never trust the "1".

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
We didn't make from scratch: fonts, some textures, samples used to compose the music.

Everything else was made during the jam.

How many people worked on the game?
9

Really good subversion of the Jam's theme.

This was a really great game and I was so close to just give up on it before I understood how it is actually played. I think the level design of the first part of the first level is criminal to the game ;) It taught me that the enemies shoot whenever, that there was no cost of me just shooting away and that I should just tank shots alternatively strafe run back and forth the corners. But that was more or less exactly the opposite of how the game should be played. Also since the enemies only count down when they see you, it totally broke the rhythm aspect of the game for me. I’m still a bit confused about how it is a rhythm based game really.

I think that first room might be the most difficult part of the two levels because it’s tight corners and two enemies in opposing directions. So small margins to play it right. And you might get shot in the back first times playing which totally messes up the understanding of how the game works.

When I did manage to figure out how the game actually worked I could play through both levels and had a lot of fun doing so. The art, the details in the environment and then voice lines it’s all really good.

Super cool game !! I loveeed the soundtrack, such a vibe, also loved the smooth graphics <33

This is a vibe, really nice work. Art is really cool, and the concept is smart. I would have liked to been able to bunny hop and pull out and inspect a knife but aside from that, I just want more levels :)

Cool game! Very creative, nice visuals and sound effects and music, simple yet fun gameplay loop. Have nothing to critique there, a clear 5 starts submission!

You took a very creative approach to the “trust no one” theme. I really enjoyed playing it.

Very cool concept, really liked the music! Plays very well, nicely done ₍₍⚞(˶˃ ꒳ ˂˶)⚟⁾⁾

I really like this! The critics I have is that it took so long for me to find the final enemy, wished there was in indicator after 2 mins or so, and tbh I don't see how this reflects "Trust No One"? I can see that it will go back to a high number before 1, sure, but it's quite a stretch.
All in all, I really enjoyed this. Good one!

I really liked the visuals, the character designs are great and it has a satisfying gameplay loop. I found the connection to the theme of the jam a little lacking.

Woah I love the narration. This was really cool though and I loved rhthym based games!

Awesome game, loved the art style and overall vibe, the narration is a really nice touch as well.

This was awesome. The art, the concept and the narration were really fun and well done. My only gripe is that i got stuck in the second level unable to find the last enemy because i couldnt tell where i have and where i havent been. Eventually i found him, but a minimap wouldve been nice.

Loved the art style with the blue filter on everything, like someone else said it immediately reminded me of no im not a human. Everything felt smooth to play though I often got lost in the maze trying to find the next enemy. Great work overall though!!

very cool concept, maybe add text to the narrator as i struggled to hear over the music but once i realised what the aim of the game was it was very satisfying.

great job

I like the style, the atmosphere, the sounds, the music, and the fact that the game is quite meme-able. Although, to be honest, it was very difficult for me at the very beginning, but when I understood what they were saying and roughly understood how to play, it became easier, and the style of the game is awesome and the idea itself is also good. In short, you receive approval from the great Monolith.

fun mechanic but got lost looking for the final enemy in the second level. Big fan of the Baby man

Very cool atmosphere and style. Reminds me from the color tone a bit of no i am not a human. Unique Idea with timing shots on one. Also the 2d graphics in 3d room and the enemy design look sick!
