Great music and visuals. I didn't understand how this game fits the theme. Sometimes I could nad sometimes couldn't wallclimed, if this was intended it would have been great if there was an indicator on that. Other than those it was really good!

The music in this game was so incredibly good, the game was also difficult, but in a good way,  This has so far been one of my favorite entries that I have tried out. Good work, keep it up.

Hi thanks for checking out my game! I really like the story and the character, would have loved to see a couple more animations like walking. Maybe even laser vision or some type or attack. Such a good concept and I loved the art, thanks again and great job!

Hi, that was an interesting way to approach the theme. Maybe a little less sensitivity in the jump or speed would help with control. Still, it's a good game. Congratulations.

I really like the atmosphere of the game! The jumping feels a little awkward, though, and the character seems to move a bit too fast. I also sometimes got stuck on the blocks while jumping — not sure if that’s a bug.

Funny game, nice platforming and awesome music. The last levels were tough to the point I was getting ragebaited. But that means I was actually invested on it, so it's a good thing. I just don't get how this fits the theme becuz you were given just what the scientist told you. And the death sfx was too loud. Other than that, good game overall.

Nice game! I beat the whole game. The last level was pretty tough. Maybe it's a skill issue on my part, but I'm not so sure that the game would've been beatable without the intended feature of wall jumping. I enjoyed the challenge though!

Developer

Thanks for playing, and congrats on beating the whole thing!! Took me a while to finally get it ngl. Do you remember what Testbot number you ended on by chance?

Nice game!

Good game, I like the robot design, but I noticed a small bug: I don't know if you left it on purpose or what, but the character sticks to the walls and that  creates an infinite jump.

Developer(+1)

this was definitely accidental, but has kind of become a feature

Great game! I found a bug where only two of the four arrow keys would work. However the rest of the game is great! Especially the level design!

Developer

thank you for the feedback! this was unintentional, I didn't remove the arrow keys from the action mapping, so they aren't supposed to work at all lol, i just forgot to remove them D:

Pretty fun when you get into it, don't wanna repeat the comments but yeah movement is too fast partnered with the death SFX, my ears weren't doing well when I was dying on cooldown

Submitted(+1)

Music and SFX are really nice but the movement feels a bit clunky.

Submitted

Like the other comments said, the overall movement of the character is too fast, also you can add some simple juice for your character, like a slight tilt when moving to left and right, squash and stretch when jumping and landing. I would also want spacebar as the jump instead of W, but that's my problem.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! EtE's movement is intentionally designed to be fast-paced as it is inspired by games like Super Meat Boy and I wanna be the Guy, I updated the game's description to better reflect that so players understand that going in, and we definitely had some issues getting all of our animations running smoothly, so some are missing from the final submission, thank you again for the feedback!

The music is great, the death sfx is a bit too loud. The movement is too fast. The jump is too high and fast maybe. If you want to simulate low gravity just lower the gravity. If you want to simulate a jetpack make a small constant force upwards until you want it to stop. The player get stuck to the wall if i am pressing the arrow that let me bump to the wall, this is a classic unity physics problem because of friction, it is easily solvable by making friction 0. Otherwise, great art and music.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! I updated the game's description so its better understood the game's speed and mechanics going in, as it is intentionally built to be fast, similar to I wanna be the guy. also the friction thing makes sense, I simply forgot it was a thing lol. As for the jump, our character is supposed to have a jump animation where you can see him thrusting from "jump boots" but we had issues getting that particular one to function how we wanted, visually it should look like the player can jump high, but intentionally cut their jump early by tapping or releasing the jump key [W], but that isn't exactly apparent while playing, I also updated the description to include that as a mechanic, thank you again for the feedback!

Submitted

Ok, so the jump is supposed to be high or a jetpack?, because it feels like a high jump, not a jetpack

Developer (1 edit)

Yes, its supposed to be a high jump, in unity its set up as a press and hold, so while you hold it continues to travel vertically to its max height, but releasing early stops the jump so you can tap jump essentially

The game is very addictive and fun! the main menu looks and feels really nice. The only thing that is missing is the theme.

Submitted(+1)

I love the music, sets the vibe well! There is a clear art direction but could be more cohesive (like for the main menu there are crt vfx but doesn't translate well to the flat art of the levels, not saying the flat art is bad). And, I don't see the theme at all :( but great try. The gameplay and story are nice and well presented and I enjoyed this game!

Developer(+2)

Thank you so much for the feedback! Yeah, we definitely planned more on-theme mechanics that ended up having to be cut due to time. Overall, the theme is more narrative, with a Mickey 17-esque fate for our poor robot.
