This game took far longer than I’d expected. I’d planned to complete it at least once so I could write a review, but it ended up taking three and a half hours. (I recorded a video just in case, so I can check how long my playthrough took.)

Despite spending so much time playing, I still didn’t quite understand the trust mechanic. Also, I’d like to be able to choose which item to share with NPCs, as some types of flowers are important for crafting, and while I’m trying to farm the ones I need, my inventory gets cluttered and my allies go hungry. However, the flower that’s important for crafting is right at the very end of my inventory, which means that if I want to share something, I’ll end up giving the NPC the flower that’s important to me, rather than, say, a piece of fruit.

It’s a real shame that you can’t interact with NPCs who aren’t on your team (or perhaps I just haven’t figured out how), which means that to progress, you simply have to restart the game numerous times with a new NPC to learn new skills from them—skills that are needed by other NPCs, from whom you then need to learn the skills required for the NPC you originally needed. At first, this frustrated me a bit, but then I started to see it more as a puzzle that requires a few restarts to solve. If I’d known this from the start, I’d probably have had a more enjoyable gaming experience. Well, or perhaps I wasn’t playing the game the correct way)))

I’ve only made it as far as the ending, which involves climbing a mountain. The game definitely needs some polishing, but for a game made in just one week, it’s turned out to be very substantial, with loads of content to explore.

Oh, and also, the first character I spoke to was speaking an unknown language, and I thought that absolutely everyone here spoke a different language, and that this was my comeuppance for not bringing a translator along with the team 😅

TYSM for playing the whole game! There's definitely a lot that I'd like to work and couldn't find the time for during the jam.  That being said, I'm planning on updating the game with a significant amount of QOL features (including all the stuff you've mentioned!)

About the trust system as well, it's something that would've been more obvious had I balanced the game better. It's what determines when NPCs kill other NPCs / the Player. Getting that in the perfect spot is something I'd definitely improve on in the future :)
