A bit too much scripted events and cutscenes for a game jam if I may say. The music and SFX were great. The visuals were very original and I liked the vibe. But I don't feel like I was playing a game. I was clicking through dialog the whole time. I am impressed that 13 people were working on this though. How did you guys manage your tasks? How difficult was it?
Thanks for playing our game! We had a bumpy start and had some problems clearly defining the "interactive fiction" and "visual novel" aspects of our game early on. If we had more time, we definitely would have wanted to add more interactive gameplay segments, but since we didn't have much time we had to lean more into the visual novel genre, even though visual novels don't give the same fast dopamine hit that most people look for in a game jam game.
In terms of our group, I joined as a programmer but took over management as well. I put tasks and details on a spreadsheet to coordinate information for what we needed done (story -> breaking it into game scenes -> required art -> required music/sfx -> how the story, art, and music should be incorporated in a game scene, etc.) as well as the details (how props should look (gameplay/story details), materials/shapes of props for sfx, how characters should be portrayed in game scenes, etc.).
Our pre-rework game story/idea was on the trajectory to require many MANY times more art, so we added a lot more artists, but in the end, we had to heavily rework and shrink/scrap our plans. We had a handful of members that worked on the project every day, while some other members worked just for a few days on a few smaller tasks, but I still wanted to credit everyone regardless which is why the team size looks so huge.
Liked: Amazing aesthetics. I really liked the vibe of this game. The music also fits in really well with the story.
Could Improve: I wished there was more involved gameplay. There are a few sections where instead of long starches of story you could move to reach the story points. Also while I love the story you were going for the ending doesn't hold the same impact.
Additional Comments: As I said in the liked section, I loved the aesthetics of the game from the color pallets to the 3d models and the sprites. While it doesn't have much interaction what is there is already commendable for a week. Good work!
Thanks for playing our game! If we had more time, we definitely would have tried to involve more interactive gameplay segments and more unique/impactful endings.
A lot of attention was put into the small details of the game, and you can really see it. I really loved the art and sound design too. Great job!
Good whole package. Awesome painted visuals. Could have used contrast here and there with some painted in light. I liked the shifting perspective whether intentional or not, in the teacher's room everything is bigger. The mini-games don't stand in the way of pretty good writing. The game flows well. Personally, as a 36 year grown-up, I could care less for grades in school, but the betrayal and tension was well portrayed.
Wow good work you guys! I loved it!

The visual style is very beautiful and atmospheric. I liked the minigames and the story. You did a great job!
Illustration is amazingly unique. I love the character-concepts and how they look in-general. The mini-games were short and sweet!
wait this game is so fire
I love the handpainted style, looks amazing!
