wow! This is a really good approach to the theme, and the visuals are really stunning, great work!
The core gameplay loop worked well and felt really smooth and polished
I really liked the art and the descriptions mechanics, it's simple yet effective but I think it would have been nice if the "identifying the suspects" part got a bigger role to play in the game. As is, it doesn't seem to change anything if you ignore the mechanic completely (I noticed the "panic button" very late on my first playthough but still had a successful outcome without using it once)
I think the UX for the "identifying the suspects" mechanic could also be improved if you :
- leave the player the time to read the newspaper before starting the day
- keep suspect's descriptions on the side of the screen so it can be checked quickly, or at least keep the newspaper open on the last page seen before putting it down
There is also a little bug where you have to reload the page if you want to replay the game (it shows the prologue and you previous game's results right after)
Thank your very much for your detailed feedback, very appreciated :)
Concise around its core concept. Pretty fun one.
Fun game loop. Possible ways to improve the newspaper mechanic would be having the descriptions of the criminals visible on the main screen or increasing the time limits.
The setting I think works great, well obviously ;). The timer on each customer sometimes felt to short especially if you have to check the newspaper again to make sure you get the right person arrested. But the core concept ist fun and the look is really clean.
Love the focus on trying to haggle for as much money as you can out of people! especially when all of them are coming in asking for some crazy prices o.o the simplistic and stylized visuals and sounds fit it perfectly. Thanks for making it!
Thank you very much :)
Great Game
Hello fellow pawnshop owner(s)!
I really like your interpretation for the pawnshop mechanics as well.
The only thing I was struggling with was remembering the things on the newspaper (I have the memory of a goldfish) but that's on me
Thanks man.
Yes that should be made easier.
Fun loop, though I found it a little tricky to keep track of all the suspect’s identifiers in the time!
Thank you :)
Yes, there should definetly be a period of time before the game starts to memorize them.
Very nice models, enjoyable game loop, good job.
Thank you very much
