How does the game fit the theme?
I originally thought of a game concept where there are a lot of objects, that seem innocent at first, but could harm you if trusted blindly. And only through seeing details one could tell, if an object is safe to be around.
So in the forest of Trolls there are a lot of things: stones, trees, grass, bushes. You need to cross that forest. And to not get into trouble you should see if a thing is real or a monster in disguise. You can tell that using clues, that makes a thing look more suspicious, than the rest.
It's kinda less of person - person trusting and more person - its eyes' type trusting, but It's with what I've ended up in a week.).
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
+ Line mesh generator;
+ 3d first person controller;
+ Bush shader;
+ Glitch shader.
How many people worked on the game?2

Loved the mood. The tutorial was very well made. The actual game was so scary :D I died, of course, but not sure how to evade the monsters. Do I need to evade them somehow? Also, the jumping in the tutorial was not bulletproof. Didn't work sometimes. All in all, great work, and I would really build on that tutorial/training :)
Yo, thanks.). I mean yeah, the stone monsters charge towards you, and to dodge those you can walk unpredictably so they would miss. To avoid tree monsters you need to avoid their tenticles, that they shoot, by moving, and once grabed with those, those pull you towards the tree, and it eats 1 of your hp. There are also spike traps, that hide under grass and falling trees. Although the thing, that walljump doesn't work, when you are not facing the wall side-ways is intended (The hitboxes are built like that). If you jumped while the wall is on your right/left and it still didn't work, then i don't know what happened. Thanks for your feedback.).
Oh, I died pretty early, not knowing the other horrific ways I could've died :D With some balancing, that would be a good horror game. Also, the tunnel used in the tutorial can be utilized with some customization to be an underground tunnel, and monsters attack u there as well.
And about the wall jump, yes, actually it worked sideways, so I guess I was using it wrong. Congrats again :)
The audio and visuals were one of my favorites of the jam by far. I'm a sucker for 2.5D.
I'm impressed this ran well in the browser especially with all my tabs open. Giving the option to skip loading screen and have stuff render in the foreground is super smart and something I might do in the future.
Great job.
Woh, thank you.)..
I really love the intro/tutorial section and the art style!! The 2.5D visuals are absolutely beautiful, and the movement feels really smooth too!!
My only issue was that once the game actually started and I got out of the car, I had no idea where I was supposed to go TT I found a dead end and got sent back, and I also ran into the forest and encountered some monsters... Was I supposed to fight them? XD
I never managed to find my friend... very sad TT
I’d really love to see a map or some kind of navigation system added in the future! I think it would make exploring the world much easier without taking away from the sense of adventure. Really beautiful game!! :D
Naw, Thank You for playing.)).
Dam, yess, But not you alone. Although theoretically speaking, there was supposed to be a sign on the road, pointing at the left side of the forest, that one would need to cross... But I really should have made it more obvious. And No don't fight those.< dodge them (they to strong).
I quite enjoyed, I didn't understand at first, and everything gave me a jumpscare, but after time I grew to quite like it!
Really cool game! I was a bit confused on where to go at first but once i found the right way I was able to beat it, it was really fun!
Nicely done. Felt like I was playing minecraft. Took me a minute to get off the road (you have to jump ). I couldn't quite figure out what was hitting me (invisible trolls) but I was able to get to the end. Good entry
Incredible vibes, music, and lighting! The gameplay got a bit confusing with troll items, and the moving FOV change made me dizzy, but I loved it enough to beat it twice. Visually and audibly fantastic!
Great job! I love the look of this game the voxel art really works here. Fantastic job on the tutorial, it's very helpful. I did struggle to notice the traps so I died pretty quickly and couldn't get very far after retrying.
I really like the athmosphere of this game. The visuals and sound effects blend together so well. And the concept is pretty unique for the topic :)
I first played the tutorial and it was already pretty cool and intriguing. When I entered the actual level, the feeling of finding myself in a strange world drove me to explore further out of curiosity. In the end, I died pretty quickly, haha. Those trees seemed so harmless... I shouldn't have trusted my first impression.
Thanks for the experience—a world blending 3D and pixel art, pretty cool.
Really nice atmosphere ! I like it !
i absolutely loved the atmosphere. the lighting, the music and the vibes were immaculate but the game was quite confusing, i couldn't figure out what was a troll and what was just a regular object, and the fov change when moving was quite disorienting but i did beat the game twice
overall, fantastic visuals and music
YOo .D thank you(it's awesome, that somebody have beat my game)
The game style is great! I did get a bit lost at the start, hahahaha,but after reading some comments I found my way. Really fun game! :D
Naww .D thanks for playin
Holy cow man you go FAST in this game! Wall jumping was a bit tricky. Lighting was really great! Nice job.
YOo, Thank you.D.
It was a really interesting idea! It took me a while to understand what was going on, but once I got it, I really enjoyed it. I also really liked the flashlight — it was a nice touch. Great job!
YOo .Dthank you.
A lot of people got lost in my forest..> (When you spawn in, try crossing the forest on the left side of the road. There should be a finish somewhere.)
How the game looks is pretty uniquie but a bit trippy. I think I like the visuals. Tha wall jumping is kinda fiddly. It's not obvious which objects are danger and which are not. It looks like a cool world you've built though.
YOo .D thanks for playing (I really did not know how to balance objects being suspicious, but not more obvious traps. But maybe the fog takes care of that obviousness anyways.... idk)
Cool!
A bit hard to control and the goal of the game isn't really clear to me but it was fun.
Thank you .D
(yeah, you are not alone, I should have probably made a clearer indication on which side of the forest needs to be crossed in order to win the game (it was left))
