This was a fun lil detective game, the red string / handcuff mechanic is such a goofy cool idea and I liked that new questions show up when you interrogate people more. I did get a bit confused with the controls at first, and I can see why people had trouble with the brain part too... but the whole vibe is super cute and memorable. Nice job :)

had a chuckle over the fact that you can interrogate the murder weapon itself!

Developer

glad you enjoyed!

Such a cute game!! I absolutely love your art style and the way you named all the characters XD They're adorable!

I especially loved the interface and interactions. This is honestly one of my favorite approaches to a detective game I've played in this jam!

I think I might have missed some information about the case, though. I wasn't completely sure who the victim was or whether I caught the right person in the end. I also tried connecting the wire to their brains, but it immediately disconnected. Was that another interrogation mechanic? XD

I would love just a little more information to guide the investigation, but overall this is such a cute and creative game. I really, really love the presentation and interaction design!!

Developer

with the brain, probably what happened is that you accidentally touched the things in the brain section, here's how it works, you can use the brain to read the minds of the characters, but in exchange, you have to avoid things coming toward you on the screen

I think its a great concept but after I gave someone cuffs. i guess i lost, and it made me go back to the main menu. would like some help, I tried the computer

Developer

try asking some questions, may be you just chose the wrong culprit

Fun detective game loop/puzzles and nice incorporation of the theme! Took me a while to figure out how to advance, and I too, struggled with the string mechanics.

Developer

yeah sorry, I will try and fix that as soon as possible (i can't during jam) glad you enjoyed though!!!

Hi. I liked when you could interrogate the murder weapon. I think the drawing of the red wires could have been done by dragging the left mouse instead, and also a larger hibox for that, probably the whole picture instead of just the red thumbtack.

Developer

the only thing is I wanted the player to be able to drag the pictures around, and I have updated it so that the hitbox is bigger, just can't update the playable game yet! (I'm glad you enjoyed it though!!! thanks for the feedback!!!)

All you need to know is the fries did it

Nice little game you have! Love the characters and the story. Control is a little too janky, though. Overall good concept.

Developer

may i ask why you sent it twice? (thanks!! just confused)

This usually happens when you have an unsaved rating, so itch can't reload the page, making it look like you hadn't posted it yet. So the user clicks it again, not knowing the first one did go through.

Developer

thanks!

This was actually very fun to play. I didn't find out what that brain(?) (in level 2) was for though. Rope mechanic felt very fresh. At first I didn't know new questions were being added for the suspects, took me a few playthroughs, but it was clever to add that. I love detective games and yours was very interesting to play.

Developer(+1)

thanks! (you can drag string from the brain to people to read their mind if you dodge flying particles)

Submitted(+1)

ooh that sounds cool! I'll try playing again to experience that feature!

Developer(+1)

hope you enjoy!!!

Nice game I love the concept.

Found it really hard to use the rope mechanic but that might honestly just be a skill issue!

Developer

you can use either right click or z, which does it to the closest

Playing as the detective is fun and the mystery board is fun as well lol. Not to mention the end of the game :P

Really loved the rope-tying mechanic! The sound effects were great too.

Developer

thanks! I made them using a music software called audiotool!: https://www.audiotool.com/track/pyulwa85

I liked the detective aspect of your game, the design looks fun and definitely reinforce that you need to find clues thorough the game, great job by achieving it alone ! :D

thanks!
