really nice game!

Good incremental game :) I won having 770 kills on the counter. Great idea with CRT filter, maybe it is nostalgia or maybe not, but it looked even 100x times better with it. I like that the skill tree was relatively simple (I remember jam entries from previous editions where the skill tree was so complex that I was a bit lost after a while).

Sweet game! Very cohesive and polished. The end of level transition is so juicy, it made me want more of that during gameplay!

That was sick! I really enjoyed the overall loop, and especially the sfx (although the audio did start to bug out near the end with way too many sounds). I would’ve liked the changes between runs to be a little bit more incremental, though. I felt like I got way too much xp and could unlock entire sections of the skill tree with one run. That said, having way too many runs before getting to the end might’ve felt repetitive as well. Overall, very good job!

This is really well done. The scope feels perfect for a jam game, the loop is super solid, and the style is really cohesive. It feels very polished.

The one thing I’d probably tweak is the movement. It’s almost too tight.

You move exactly where you press, and the second you let go you stop immediately. I think even a little acceleration/deceleration or momentum would make the movement feel more natural.

Other than that, this is pretty much exactly what I’d want out of a jam game.

Great work!

very fun arcade shooter, the visual while simple mash realy well with the frenetic gameplay and make the game very readable, great experience!

Really nice twin stick shooter!

I found the visuals of the circles splitting at the start a bit disorientating and the audio seemed to break at high levels of enemies towards the end, but both may just be my janky old pc telling me i’ve played too many games and need to give it a break.

Other than that, this was a really fun game!

Loved the stat drop at the end. Really satisfying shooting experience which is what you want and the upgrades were really rewarding and genuinely made me feel like making progress. Solid game loop.

Awesome work for solo dev in the time frame. Good job!

A little more anticipation to the fact that the zone is shrinking would be nice.
Also a trail behind the player would be cool as well imo.
I think having enemy variety would go a long way for this to feel more interesting as it's kind of brain dead play after 3 or 4 rounds in the sense that I only shoot to a lot of stuff that has little to no chance to kill me.
A good dopamine farm kind of game, I enjoyed it.

One of the rarer games on this jam that supports controllers, neat

Super fun and very polished! I loved how satisfying it was to collect the exp that was lying around on the map. Great job!

This was seriously great. The visual style is so clean and consistent, the progression is satisfying, I love it!!

Very fun and quite addictive! The amount of polish is very impressive. One thing id love to see is a cool death animation and some particles. I felt like it lacked some feedback when I died. Great job!!

Super juicy and very fun! I enjoyed playing this a lot. got a bit jank at the end when the battle got real, but certaily could be my pc being a potato, and honestly it was mostly the audio and still played well!

This game is great, I really enjoyed playing it. I played it two times with my other devs and we really enjoyed it. Amazing job :)

Thanks, that's really kind. Glad you all enjoyed it!

I had so much fun with this! Love the concept, the lore, and especially how the goal changes from early => late game (being able to damage The Cloister is a great idea). SFX + VFX make the hits very satisfying, too.

I noticed that once I was fully powered up, the game ended when The Cloister was at about half health or so. Wasn't sure if it was intentional (i.e. maybe there's a max game time to prevent players from getting too overpowered). Still played it twice to see if I could get to it quicker haha.

Awesome job as always :)

Thanks! Being able to attack the cloister was an idea by FluffyFish. Genuinely makes the game a lot better than what i had originally planned!

Uh ohhh I'm not sure how that is happening?! A friend of mine played it about an hour or so before deadline and they said the same thing happened to them! No idea why, but it wasn't intentional 'cause i love when a game lets you get crazy overpowered hah.

Really appreciate you trying it out, very kind! Thank you!

Very good submission, it's scope is perfect so you could spend time polishing it and it's very polished indeed, specially on the visual part and the theme is well interpreted in my opinion. I've just catched some things:

  • The gap on the difficult from the first run to the second run is very high, maybe keep it progressively getting harder. Also, adding more types of enemies help with that.
  • Sometimes the exp are is out of bounds (in the red area), I don't know if it's on purpose but maybe check when the cloister shrink to update it's position if out of bounds.
  • Some bugs noticed: the exp/coins sounds accumulate very fast and it hurts to hear, maybe setting polyphony or something like that would solve. Sometimes I do a lot of damage on the cloister, specially when shooting to one side and flying to the other side, idk if it's just the crit damage tho. And last I think just some optimization would be nice for a browser version, on late game it was very low fps.

Anyway, it's still a very good submission, congrats!

That initial jump from the first round to second is a bit hectic you are right. I  had meant to go back and tweak the curve slightly for it before the deadline but forgot last minute.

Thank you for trying it and thanks for the rest of your excellent feedback! I'll see what i can do for optimisation.
