Congrats on another banger! I sadly couldn't participate this time but had to come and check this out of course.
First off, obviously a dino band rocking out moments before the asteroid, completely smashes the theme.
Absolutely oozing with style too, the palette and character design, really love what you did with the 2D elements in a 3D world. The characters are so great, and the outlined silhouettes make them stand out so beautifully in the world. Once again your dialogues are fantastic, the band immediately pulls you into their little world, and the sight of poor Trey looking back at you with that asteroid in the background is just beautiful and devastating.
Also I really enjoyed the opening interaction of just looking around an empty stage, really nice touch :D
Then there's THAT SONG.
It has not left my head all day and it's welcome to stay. Absolute jam, blankets the whole experience in fuzzy, warm, melancholy goodness. Just fantastic work, and I'd love to hear more of the Boyz.
Awesome job!!
Awwww man, thank you so much for giving it a play! Ever since hearing your AMAZING game over song from Chef's Kiss I've been wanting to try a vocal synthesizer... and holy pancakes, it's wild to realize it's been two years since then! xD The encouragement means just as much now as it ever did, I've got a long way to go on all fronts but I know I'll get there someday. ^^
Can't wait to see what else you make in the future too!! As always it made my day when i saw this, May your day be excellent and hope all is going great!
Haha, yeah time has flooown hasn't it!
I'm really liking this months GWJ theme too... hope I can get something done this week!
I love the story! And that you made whole game around 4-color palette, that is amazing! Regarding gameplay, when I tried it for the first time, I managed to noclip through ground and fall under the map (after finding Trey and talking to him I jumped down on the left and fell through textures). Sound was great, too, it added a lot to whole game.
Holy.... I was not ready for the emotional gut-punch that was Spinez's dialogue about the song being perfect and Trey's anxiety about the end of the world. Loved the music, and kind of obsessed with the visuals, especially the 2d ones. Read lower in the comments that you plan to add an ending sequence post jam. I would honestly love to see it. Also, I did walk through the mountain at one point, not sure if I would've fallen off if I had kept going.
The art and the vibes are really peak. The music also seemed like it was really good but unfortunately my hardware and it playing through browser quite butchered it a bit (so about this all i can i suggest is for you to also add some pc exports next time). Congrats on making this game!
Really cool art and music! I am so impressed that you made this all yourself!
WOW the art is so cool!! Such a great color palette and interesting story.
This game has SO MUCH POTENTIAL. The graphics are the most original I have ever seen, and the color palette is well-chosen. All the gang members are charming with fitting personalities. I would love to see a more expanded story.
Very solid for a single person in such a short timeframe.
I absolutely adored the visuals. The story itself had a good set-up, but it didn’t feel like there was any resolution at the end. Felt like it ended right before the climax.
Thank you so much, that kind of feedback helps me a ton! My biggest regret was running out of time for the big finale on stage to be part of the game, so I'm honestly getting excited to finish this post-jam. xD Thanks again for playing!
please do! I am kind of exited for that!
PEAK, not much else to say, the only thing I noticed is that the collisions in one place are kinda broken, the best game I've played so far for the jam
Thank you, you're absolutely right... that one spot got super messed up. xD Looking into that right now, I really appreciate the kind words!
This game is beautiful, I've been recommending it to the dev team I've been working with. Makes me so sad for the crew ;-;
Thank you so much!! Means a ton to me. ^^
