How does your game meet GBJam's theme
Dig n' Crawl uses the "OLD GOLD" theme in both its setting and its mechanics, which are all built around retrieving old gold treasures. Sugi explores the ruins of an ancient kingdom once blessed by the gods, digging up treasures that have been buried for centuries. Every dig spot opens a small excavation minigame where you uncover relics of different sizes and value, and you need to bring back enough of that forgotten wealth to escape successfully.

Good job on a game. Amazing quality and interesting idea. Quite hard game, but fun. Congrats
Thanks! Yes, it's kinda hard e.e
This was a cool concept. Switching between the two gameplay modes while the timer continues to run was a cool twist, unfortunately I felt like there weren't enough torches for me to really dig into the levels.
Thanks! If I can know, are you talking about all the levels or one in particular? :)
Solid game there! Nailed on the gameboy style!
Couldn't finish Level 2 when I played it but I may try it again later.
Thanks! I failed too Level 2 after a day off from the game (and I designed it in editor... D:), it needs you to be efficient.
WHERE ARE MY TORCHES!!! /jk The game has a unique twist on the otherwise “digging for gold game #99” template, the sonar was an interesting idea to help the player. I did struggle with my torches, so not sure if I’m supposed to fail and explore and replay with the knowledge of the map?
Graphically the game looks spotless, has a lovely palette which it play along, sfx were great. Music was a tad too much to me, you could let the instruments breathe a bit more, and for me the high notes took away some enjoyement in them.
Overall a lovely entry, really well done!
Thanks for your huge feedback!
Apart from level 1, both 2 and 3 are much harder than first. It's not mandatory to fail, but might happen if you're not trained to the genre (or you've a sort of undiagnosed ADHD like me :D).
Regarding the music, we tried to focus on the suspance and the "ticking" concept. It's cool to hear that not everybody enjoyed it, thanks.
Really loved the torch colours shifting in the light. It gave the ruins a ton of atmosphere and communicated the count down timer well visually.
Very polished, very Game Boy Soul, and a really nice interpretation of the theme.
Thanks! We spent a ton of time on the ruins' atmosphere, so it's nice to hear feedback like yours :)
I like the dig-dug gameplay here! Also the torch effect is dope, love it!
Thanks! We actually took inspiration from Dig Dug for the digging part!
Really cool game, loving the torch effect!
Thanks!
An excellent game with a cool main mechanic! Although both gameplay complement each other really well, it is very easy to imagine what additionnal mechanics could be added to make the experience even cooler, making the main loop really solid :)
The graphics are really good and the torch mechanic adds tension as time goes on, which is a really good addition.
Though, three levels of the same loop can get repetitive, and the level design can admittedly feel a bit empty, the game is still a pretty solid experience! Congrats on the submission :)
Thanks for the kind words! We're already talking about expanding the mechanics to make the main loop more solid.
Maybe after the jam voting ends we'll update the game :)
Excellent game! Art, music, gameplay, everything fits and clicks together and is incredibly polished! And every treasure has it's icon and description too? Perfection! Bravo to the entire team! Five stars!
Thank you so much!
We all worked on it together, each taking care of a different part, and put a lot of passion into it. So happy it shows. Thanks for playing!
Love the lantern effect! Great job! The graphics are spot on!
Thank you! The lantern effect was all thanks to the developer DazornSama and the artist Giorgio Petrara: the idea came from them, and they did an amazing job bringing it to life. Glad you enjoyed the graphics!
This game really gives me vibes similar to the old Zelda games, great job at that! I dont know what it is, but the UI looks extra polished, just feels great to navigate.
Overall, great execution, and I am intrigued by the story. Id really like to see more games in the same world.

Thanks! Zelda, yes! It was in our big cauldron of ideas, happy to hear it came through :)
Regarding the UI, maybe my six years of web design experience helped make it clear and polished? e.e
It looks great. The shadow effect is nicely done! It’s also really interesting and addictive to play—I genuinely enjoyed it. You’ve got talent! Good luck!
Thanks!
Awesome game. Loved the lighting effects and the gameplay loop in general, it manages to mix a bunch of mechanical elements in a way that feels unified and seamless, hard to do in a jam game!
Tone and feel was also a hit for me, feels bleak but cartoonish enough where it fits the gameplay and aesthetic choices.
Also, the treasure icons are beautiful!
Thanks! Yes, we mixed together a bunch of ideas and tried to give every team member something they cared about in the game.
Plus, our artist worked a lot on finding the right mood for the palette we suggest playing with, and teased me quite often about the lighting effects not looking the way he wanted. And yes, I love the icons too! :D
Very cool. I love the lighting effect end overall the visuals are stunning.
The game is very polished and everything is screaming "this is a gameboy game". I love it.
The digging also works very well but gets boring pretty quick (maybe thats just me :D)
Great game!
Thanks! I personally fought with that shader for a while to get that effect working e.e
Regarding the digging minigame, if we'd had more time it would definitely have been the first thing on our list to expand. Across just three levels we hoped it wouldn't get too repetitive, but point taken T_T
Fantastic game! The art style was so good and very game boy
Thanks for your kind words!
That was really fun. I enjoyed the tension the ever-diminishing torch. I managed to beat all the levels, but missed exactly 1 treasure (torch ran out while digging) in each of the last two (after 2 tries each). Graphics were just gorgeous and wonderfully atmospheric!
Thanks! We're happy that the torch timer worked as intended, and not just for us. Good job beating all the levels, the third one wasn't easy :)
Really great game! I really enjoyed how polished it feels, and the art is amazing!
Thanks! Our artist is very good at it :) We also spent a lot of time polishing, so it's great to hear that!
This makes me miss my gameboy color. Gameplay loop is really fun and encourages you to try a level again and play around with the mechanics in new ways :)
Thanks noble! <3
Extremely polished, well done!
Thanks!
I have no feedback other than the game being very good! :) 5/5
Thanks! Your no feedback is very welcome here! <3
