How does your game meet GBJam's theme
You play as an old goose who lays gilded (golden) eggs. She's pretty cool.

Really fun and cool interpretation of the theme! The egg laying mechanics are quite amusing too. There is this weird glitch where the game covers only the lower left side of the allocated screen, but it does get fixed when going into full screen.

Still, pretty solid entry!

Really cute game! The goose is awesome and the egg kicking mechanic is super fun and satisfying. The art and music fit the Game Boy style really well too. Great job!

Wow, what a unique and funny interpretation! I really liked it! Great job.

This game was an absolute pleasure to play. I love geese so much, and I really enjoyed the rhyming that you had going on. Soundtrack was really pleasant also.

This is the second game I've seen have am exterior with the actual buttons, it's a cool little thing to add! Well done.

Marygold is precious. <3

played smooth. felt good! i like that the abilities take a bit to master.

Developer

I strive for smoothness! 😄 I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for playing!

Really clever! Kicking the egg and dropping the egg from midair both made sense to me, and then the A+B action to launch the egg really knocked my socks off. Great potential - I hope you keep working on this! Maybe future iterations can take inspiration from soccer keep up tricks.

Developer

My initial designs had a lot of complexity and fluff that I (thankfully) cut back on. I'm happy to hear what's left is as intuitive as it is!

I hadn't thought about comparisons to soccer; that's quite clever! Perhaps the up input could be re-worked into something like that... 🤔

Thank you for playing!

Such a fun concept - credit to Joyce! :D And credit to yourself for bringing it to life with such charm. I had a great time playing!

I was especially grateful for her help this time around... "OLD GOLD" had me spinning some strange circles in my own head 😵.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for playing!

Honestly a pretty cool platformer with a nice main mechanic! The level design is an assembly of many fun ideas around the egg throwing mechanic, and feels a bit like yoshi island!
One of the more original interpretations of this jam's theme for sure, great work on the submission :)

Developer

I'm happy to hear that the levels conveyed that. Thank you for playing!

This game is full of whimsy in its art and music, and even the "console" layer which I had to give a try on my phone. I've got to learn how to do touch controls like this for my mobile D-Pad. The shading of the block tiles create a nice optical result when I'm not focused on it. The flapping glide is very satisfying and reminded me also of Yoshi's Island. Heartwarming credits that could be felt throughout.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! 💚 The block tiles are sort of an 「ascended placeholder.」 Originally, they were going to be reserved for more "gold-heavy" rooms full of treasure, but the levels never got fleshed-out aesthetically.

I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it. Thank you for playing!

Getting a ton of Yoshi's Island vibes with the awesome platforming and egg projectile concept! Really awesome overall!

Developer(+1)

Funny story: egg-kicking was an interpretation I added onto Joyce's egg-dropping concept, and it was only when I got to implementation where I realized the similarities to Yoshi's Island. Happy coincidences! 😊

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for playing!

Well hey, this is so neat! I love a nice little game that has a core mechanic and lays it out nicely across a complete experience, with well thought out challenges that build on each other. Very lovely presentation, very cute, the goose is pretty cool indeed.

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for playing!

The experience is admittedly coarse around the edges --- aiming eggs is finicky --- but it's built on a solid concept that maintains its high level of quirkiness when translated into game form, and an inspired interpretation of the jam's secondary theme.

Developer

You are correct: I did not find a good way to clarify the relationship between player input and egg movement. That would certainly be the first thing to fix! (and I know ways how to)

Thank you for playing; I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I love the sprites and the rhymes!

could have been a great game if not just a concept. Great job! I like the visuals!

Developer

As the dice fall, so they say! 😅 I'm glad you enjoy the presentation.

Thank you for playing!

I really liked  the feeling of kicking the egg. Satisfying in a very intuitive way. Art was quite good! A little noisy at times but the sharp anti-aliasing work gave it form. I especially loved the UI art. Seems pretty interesting, let me know if you get around to making a level pack!

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I've been learning to be more conscious of anti-aliasing in my designs; I'm glad to hear that it's showing.

Thank you for playing!

Pretty neat, I like the concept! Controls were fluid and easy to get into. There was some challenge to hitting some of the targets, but not too much.  With some slightly more finished level graphics and a little more content, this could be great.   I love the goose.

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for playing!

It was cool, it took me a little while to understand the mechanics, but when I understood it was quite easy to get to grips with, good job :p
