Obviously with a theme like "imminent doom", this jam is going to have a bunch of scary/unsettling stuff, but nothing gave me quite the same feeling of dread as when I couldn't interact with the pills and later found the plant in the toilet.

Haven't finished it yet, but will be coming back. So gripping and unsettling. I need to know what happens.

Incredible that you were able to do all these assets by yourself!

Submitted(+1)

The environment looks awesome, did you make all assets by yourself? This is crazy for 9 days especially alone AND 3D too lol

Developer(+1)

Thank you!
Yeah, pretty much everything in the game was made by me, except for the few things I pointed out in the description. Music, sounds, models, textures for the smaller models, etc

I started playing without reading the description of the story (missed it) and that kind of made it hit even harder when I started to notice all the objects out of place, and how I couldn't take the pills for the dad because he had forgotten he has to. The story is simple and really well executed. The environment looks great and lived-in.

Well done! Beautiful art and storytelling.

Just WOW for the models! If you have any tips on that I'm happy to learn.

And a very good game. The transitions are very smart.

All the love to you and any troubled loved ones!

Honestly, my only tip is to just put a lot of time into it.
I started 3D with character modeling, which was a lot harder than, say, making basic stuff.  But it made me learn topology in no time. With that came UVs, texturing, and a bunch of other neat tricks.
Before this jam, I hadn't touched Blender in... about a year give or take. So it was basically a race to remember everything I'd learned back then.
If we're talking specifically about the models for games, just goof around for a bit and figure out what suits your game best. Then turn that into a full asset and make the rest of the assets with it in mind.
I spent around 10 hours a day just modeling things for the game and troubleshooting issues with them. And at some point, it drained me a lot.

Thanks a lot.

you know, i dont really write a lot of long reviews but this one was very tough, and very personal

first of all, this isnt what i would usually expect  of imminent doom  in a video game context where theres a lot more action and stuff but this truly is imminent doom..

my grandfather has alzheimer's and it fucking sucks, if you have people u care about going through this take care man :(

this one was really good....
