The Controls of the Shovel are really hard to figure out at the Start. Some more Upgrades or another Objective would have been nice as well. But overall it was a fun Game.
I was not really able to get the game to work and sound effects don't work on my computer.
To start with, this game looks good, feeling enough like a Gameboy game, and feels decent to control. I also like the idea of gold being required to meet quota to progress and its amount reduces your total amount. The slime girl is cute too.
I just think it could've been more challenging because there's not much of a fail state here, let alone hazards. For example, there could have been a time limit where you have to meet quota before then. I also think artefacts would be better optional collectables if they had a deeper purpose (like different endings depending on how many collected).
What we have now isn't bad per-say, but it feels quite repetitive and easy. I fully upgraded my shovel on Day 2 and I met every quota easily due to the abundance of gold you can collect. There also could have been background music to give the game more life.
Decent entry overall with a good concept that could be better fleshed out. Good work, anyway.
Nice fast paced digging game. The aiming is unique, but when I got hang of it I flew through the levels. It would be great to see more upgrades and some background music, but other that that everything was nice. Good job!
This is a fun digging game. Aiming the shovel felt weird at first but I got used to it. Good job!
I complained a lot on other digging “incremental” games for being way to slow to progress in, I feel like this one sadly falls to the other side of the imaginary horse, I had my shovel maxed out on day two. The overal idea of the game is not bad, but it didn’t really pot any new spins on the idea
Graphicaly there is nothing wrong with what we have it works, well done.
No music sadly, and the digging sound effect, which we hear all the time, is sadly just a too harsh of a sound effect, I’d use other waves, or more flat notes.
Overall not a bad entry, could use some further work on it, as the base idea is not bad. Well done!
Interesting mechanics. Respect on own engine! As well as mine game SFX are annoying a little. Otherwise good job!
What a gem!
My personal highlight in this are the controls, they are super well made and thought out!
There was only 1 thing i would love to have changed, and thats when you turn around(left or right), that the aiming line is MIRRORED instead of reset to a straight left/right!
You could easily make a more fleshed out, in-depth version of this, with perhaps even multiplayer(!!!) in it, and you'd have me hooked for good!
I really love the color palette here. Only feedback I have is I think it woulda been nice if there were some additional upgrades, you upgrade the shovel right away and then there's no use for all the gold you keep collecting. Overall, this was short and sweet. Good job!
Thanks for playing my little game
:DSimple but charming game, congrats on using your own engine! I probably couldn't ever do that
I love the simple gameplay! Though i think the controlling of the mining with arrows like THIS is not good and should be changed. Love the graphics (i'd smash the main character tbh). Great stuff!
Thanks for playing! I’ll keep the feedback on the mining controls in mind
and I’m glad you like Zarek as much as I do ahahah
I love the main character! I never knew how much I wanted to play as a gold slime before today.
Thanks for playing
:DCute game! Small bit of feedback: The sounds I think could use some volume balancing, because the collect noises were very loud compared to other sounds.
Thanks for playing my little game
:DGood catch about SFX balancing, I’ll keep that in mind for my future games
Cool art, I like the palette choice. The aiming took a little getting used to.
Thanks for playing my little game
:DDigging around felt super smooth and satisfying. Really easy to lose track of time with this one.
MC is adorable, and the title screen art looks great. Also really cool that you built the whole thing on your own engine! I will be checking it out on github.
Thanks for playing my little game
:Dand I’m glad you’re interested in checking out the engine too!
Animation and movement are really good!
I would have loved some different levels because if you clean the area left to right and then go down, repeat the process, jump feels kinda useless.
If you implement some platforming level design this could be a more fun game!
And also a little music loop could help :)
Btw, good job! Digging was really entertaining!
Thanks for playing my game
:DYou’re right about the digging mostly being left to right, then going down and then it repeats ahahah
I wish I could learn how to compose music someday, but thanks for your input
:DThe movement feels smooth and the whole digging loop is simple and satisfying. The character design is cute and the sound effects make the actions feel good. The progression is quick but the charm carries it. (pls play my game)
Thanks for playing my game
:DSure, I’ll check out your game too!
I really liked the movement controls, and I love the character design on the title screen it looks great :D My only complaint is that it was quite easy to fully upgrade the shovel. I think that with some balance adjustments, the progression would feel more satisfying. very impresive that you used your own engine
She's very cute. The sound effects are also really satisfying!
However, I didn't find it very fun to actually play. The aiming ray is a little slow to aim, and once my shovel was upgraded there was no incentive to grab more gold (I would just naturally grab the necessary amount on my way to the relics). Nice work on programming this!
Simple and satisfying little game, super cool that it was all done on your own game engine!
