I really enjoyed the game! I think it shows enough to be interesting as a demo and I like the way the characters are portrayed. I have no critiques or issues with the story, though I did find myself with a slight issue with the gui (which I'm sure will be fixed in the full release but I'll mention it regardless just in case), the buttons would cut off at the edges and not fully sit underneath the text so it made a couple choices a bit hard to read and understand as something I could click, otherwise though didn't face any problems and I look forward to the full release!
I also started giggling so bad with the star mentions considering my name lol that was fun
The premise for this seems really interesting and you did a great job of building tension! I'm looking forward to seeing more :D
Thanks for sharing this, there’s a lot here that I enjoyed and a lot I’m curious about! I’ll be honest that I had a harder time connecting with Angel than most people probably will, so take this as one player’s perspective.
part of what drew me to play was the preview image in the page where Angel has a realistic eye overlaid on his face, and I was looking forward to seeing that in the game, so I was a little disappointed not to find it. I also found myself wanting to understand the cult better, it’s said to have people of influence in it so I kept wondering if that was the case why would it recruit through job posters, was angel being honest with the protagonist about what they do? I couldn’t quite tell if I should be worried about the cult or not, and I’d love to know more about it.
The moment where Angel gets shy about being called cute caught me off guard, too. Up to then I was reading his attention as unsettling, phrases like “my Star” and “start afresh” sound like the typical setup of grooming tactics employed by cults, so the sudden tone shift left me a bit confused about how I was supposed to feel about him, in the end I could not find it endearing as I had him pegged for a suspicious potentially bad person. I know that Day 2 had a flirt option, so maybe my choices led me down a path where that felt more abrupt than intended?
I’m very curious about the stalker plot and the cliffhanger, and the break-in scene was a standout for me. I would love to see what happens next, and I hope you keep working on this. Congratulations on finishing a jam entry!
Ok, Hi! usually it's our programmer who responds to all these comments but I thought as the writer I would be the one to respond here!
Honestly, I want to thank you for the criticism....This was my first attempt writing a game and I didn't realise how disjointed the story could come across depending on which route you go down, as the few people I had look over my work were all Angel lovers even before having read the game and I think its something, that, because of the rose tinted glasses we held over the character, we didn't pick up on these narrative issues. The presentations of Angel I have planned diverge depending on which route you end up on due to your responses up until the break in - paths break off there and until then, while your choices do matter because they dictate your ending, the story is all linear and you end up in the same situations no matter what choices you make. Angel was supposed to unsettle, and the idea of him being caught off guard was supposed to read as a comedic moment of levity before a very heavy scene - but I can see how, on reflection, it an be jarring though.
In terms of the graphic, I'm sorry it was so misleading....It was my fault because a big part of how I was aiming to market was without his face...and having him be a cute boy under the mask also wasn't the original intention at all. It was supposed to play as him always smiling in an unsettling way but the art didn't fully come off as that. I do eventually was to do something with the analogue horror vibe and that was again, the original intent for the project, but as the story got away with me we lost that aspect to the project and that's my bad.
And now for me to give my biggest excuse and arguably the worst one: I was extremely busy this month, not just with the Jam but major life events got in the way of my writing and so things being disjointed, there were major writing flow issues on that end. I'm certain I am not the only one who dealt with issues such as those during the jam and I am certainly not claiming to be the only person who struggled, on the contrary I'm sure a lot of people did, but it made the writing get away from me, this script hadn't even been properly looked over for grammatical errors (They were picked up by our programmer as they integrated it).
I do certainly want to change things and want to go back in to rewrite sections while I write the endings to try and get this project more to how I initially envisioned, AND SERIOUSLY this was some really good constructive feedback, and it means a lot to me to get this so that I can aim to improve as a writer overall and go in to improve the script. I'm sorry you weren't able to find joy in our game as it was all my fault and nothing to do with my team.....I hope that I can do batter and fix this so that I h=can make it a more enjoyable experience overall.
Sorry and Thank you,
Rynn - the Writier
It's okay man, my goal was just to share my thoughts and I'm glad I could be of help! but you don't need beat yourself up about it, a lot of people liked it, I did so too and I wanted to make that abundantly clear, so there's nothing to be sorry about.
I believe in this project, so keep it up!
Very intriguing premise and atmosphere. Looking forward to learning more about MC and Angel.
I appreciate that you enjoyed it! I'm definitely looking forward to working on the game more!! :)

AWW I was getting hooked right when the demo ended. Excited for more! Such an interesting concept
Honestly, that's so real.. I too am excited to see what happens next!! We didn't intend to have it be a demo, but I'm very happy with where we decided would be possible to cut it off for now! :)
This was such a good demo! The story was easy to get into and I love Angel's design and character! I hope to see more from this team and more from this project!
I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it! I hope you're able to see more from us sometime soon!! :)
Since it’s still a demo, I don’t want to judge it too quickly, but it already feels like a well-made game. I especially love Angel’s design!
The UI does feel a little rough around the edges, though. It’s not difficult enough to use that it gets in the way of playing, but it does feel like it could use a bit more polish.
That said, I’m sure it’ll improve quickly! I’m looking forward to seeing how the game develops from here.
I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it! I adore the design for Angel!! :)
Yeah, the UI is definitely something I'd like to overhaul! There were some issues that caused me, as the programmer, to have to make the UI with no experience and there's a lot of buttons so I didn't have time to fix/make some stuff (e.g. profile customisation, sizing down some of the buttons, etc.) It's something I'll be focusing on sorting when I get back to work!! :)
I'm excited to get back to work on finishing it! I hope you enjoy the finished project!!
Angel makes me want to throw him against the wall (affectionate)
I really like the demo! Theres great concept here to be expanded on, especially with a character like angel! I hope to the full game finished with the updated ui and such!
Can confirm, I would also like to throw him against the wall (affectionately, of course)! :)
As for the UI, I do plan on overhauling it as I decided to make it all due to internal reasons while also doing the programming (and having no UI experience) so there’s a lot I didn’t have time to add or fix! I might try to get work started back up on my end after this week, but we’ll see how things go!
I’m very glad to hear that you enjoyed it! I definitely want to see the game finished!!
OMG HI NIII (this is the person you keep talking to on tik tok) THANK YOU SO MUCH I give you full and express permission to throw him against a wall
LMAO I FORGOT UR A TEAM
YEA!!! That was V responding to you
Angel is way too cute, I would join the cult in an heartbeat.
As this is only a demo it hard to evaluate but the art looked already great. As I wrote, Angel looks super cute. I also liked that there are point and click passages even if they are not implemented yet.
As for the chat interface, I think it was done very well. My only advice would be to be careful that it does not overstay its welcome. Ultimately seeing actual sprites with expressions is more fun than a chat interface.
The story hook absolutely works. I would have loved to play more.
Great work. I am looking forward to more.
Thank you for playing! Our team really appreciates the feedback and yeah, there’s still some art that isn’t in the game yet that I’m really excited to implement and all the artists did such a good job!!
I’ll definitely make sure to pass on the advice to the writer! Thank you again, I’m glad you enjoyed it!! :)
Interesting and well done game. The mechanic that you included that allows you to chat with Angel is on point and makes the game easier to get into. The story is well-written, and the ending makes you want to know what's next and what happened to the MC. Talking about him, it's rational that he is lonely and that the only companion he has is Angel; you can see that when he becomes desperate when Angel doesn't text him back. In conclusion, it is a very good game and I would like to see what's next!!
Hey, I really appreciate all your feedback, I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed it! We’re planning on continuing work on it after a short break!! :)
Great!!
AMAZING GAME. LET ME MARRY ANGEL PLEASE? 🥺🤍
Maybe.. We’ll see what happens… :)
