I really enjoyed this. I think your visual style and UI are really clean and polished without feeling corporate and soulless. The sound design was extremely solid as well, but a little overwhelming for me personally even if I totally get that that's part of the whole experience. Some of the jargon was a little tough to get through and I felt like I missed things that would have been helpful for understanding what was coming after at the time, but once I got past the opening it was very clear that this was not the case. I love sci-fi horror like this, and I loved this game. Oh, also, I loved the parallax movement, and I hope to see more people use it in the future! Congrats on the release!

Hey! Thank you for the kind words :) I was the writer on 18.98. This was my first time writing about something truly technical that I didn't really know about (specifically the audio and weather instrumentation side of things). I was pretty conscious at the time I was going heavy on the jargon, until Rowen ended up becoming the audience proxy. I will definitely find a way to dial it down in the future... Hopefully.
Wow!!! Absolutely gorgeous visuals, with some really great touches throughout. I love all the radio details, and the care put into the design of the station itself (especially the oscilloscope, that felt so cool to use)! I'll absolutely need to keep exploring more endings, but the ones I've seen felt extremely intriguing - excellent dawning sense of cosmic horror, and good use of sprite variants to drive it home. Really well crafted game - congrats to the whole team!!
Hey! Thank you for the kind words. It was really quite difficult (for my part), putting this experience together. I'm glad it translated quite well in the final version. Tuning a horror experience is super tough when you only contribute part of the experience.
Absolutely loved the art and setting for this story. I played through a couple of times to see how things would change based on dialogue choices and really enjoyed seeing the different outcomes. Definitely has some lovecraftian vibes which I appreciated. Great work and I loved watching the story unfold!
Hey! Thanks for the lovely comments! I'm not quite sure why the setting worked so well for cosmic horror, but it's probably in the isolation. There's not a lot of remote spots left in the UK. It's also pretty cool that the Highlands are some of the oldest mountains on earth, so it made sense for something super ancient to be there. Glad you enjoyed the story!
Absolutely fantastic! I really wish it were longer. What a unique premise, and a really nice setting too. Visually, really really gorgeous, the prose was great... very reminiscent of a classic sci-fi short story. I also thought the internal monologue interjections were a good touch. 10/10
Thanks so much! I let our writer know and I suspect you made his day. :)
Hey! Thank you so much for the endorsement. I was very self-conscious when writing the story. It's hard to trust the process when you only see a part of it, you've never written the subject matter before, and the genre is totally new to you :D As Kurzweil said below, you definitely did make my day.
Lovely, eerie experience. Love to see the Scottish landscapes, too, fab setting for a game. Gorgeous art all round. Really vivid characters, well-written. Splendid work!
Thank you for the kind comments :) The setting worked out really well, yeah. We're all quite happy with it. There's a bit of sentiment in the team to return to the setting/characters/concept in the future, as well. We'd love to keep celebrating some of the more iconic British landscape, that's for sure.
It’s incredible what creative people can do! The art is unique and it’s the stongest point of this project. The characters are really well developed, Rowen’s conclusion is great, and the backgrounds are lovely, as well as the story.
In conclusion, it’s an amazing game, congratulations!!
Thank you so much!
Thank you for the comments! The art is exceptional, I agree (I'm biased, of course), but it was wonderful to see three artists come together under one vision. Absolutely my favourite thing about working in a team. Glad you enjoyed Rowen's conclusion! We felt a bit bad for him in the end, which I suppose is a nice little endorsement as well.
That was really scary! The buildup was great! Also the art is really good... I really like the effect used when the 'lichen' is 'eating' them. It's so spooky!

Ahh, this entry is really cool! The atmosphere is really good and the art style is great at setting the mood. It is quite technical, but it's clear that there is something wrong happening. I think the part where Iona is going on about 18.98 is just really well put together. It gives me a specific feeling I can't find a word for. Dread I suppose? Nothing good is coming from that!
I'd like an ending guide as we only got two of the endings while playing together :3 I wanna see 'em all!

Hi there! I was the writer on the project and definitely felt I was a bit heavy handed on the jargon side of things. It's an aspect I quite enjoy in some media, but I was worried it would detract from the overall experience in a VN. I really enjoyed writing Iona's fixation on the number, though it was super difficult at the time. The art and sound team really did a good job of boosting the experience there. Thank you for your comments :)
ill be honest, in the beginning my lack of knowledge on the subject did make it hard to follow what was going on, but once the bizarre things began to happen i was hooked. the art is beautiful and i love how simple but stylistic the ui is. great job everyone!
I dig the mood and setting!
The ui looks lovely. The spirits and backgrounds work great together.
My only pet peeve is that the fasted text speed should be instant even if I understand wanting to show off your text animations. :)
The sound sold the eerie vibes. Even my cat got a bit spooked.
Everything feels very coherent. The team did a great job!
Thank you! It’s my first VN so I’ll remember that for next time.
Just as an FYI, I pushed an update based on you feedback. Thanks. :)
Yeah, like Kurzweil said, we appreciate the feedback on the text. It makes a lot of sense as an accessibility and design/QOL thing, so we'll definitely include it in the future. Honestly, it was more of an oversight rather than wanting to show anything off, though the UI does look great ;) Sorry for spooking your cat though!
Super spooky and had absolute goosebumps at points while playing this with headphones on. Really nice touch what was done with the color and little effects. I actually didn't notice the interactive scrolling backgrounds at first and went back and played through another ending just to see those too! Everyone who worked on this did great and it felt so smooth and stylish.
Thanks so much for the kind words! It was more work to build in Godot, but it opened up some more interactive things like the parallax background.
