The Biggest Challenge
A pumpkin is both your delivery and your puzzle tool. The old rutabaga lanterns guard a road of physical mechanisms and remembered footsteps; at the end, their warmth passes into the new pumpkin light. Carrying, rolling, and temporarily leaving the pumpkin behind are essential to moving forward.
AI Tools Used
I directed development with OpenAI Codex in Unity, iterating on physical delivery puzzles, echo recordings, timed hazards, procedural low-poly environments, synthesized audio, and English/Chinese localization. I playtested the full journey and used that feedback to improve puzzle variety, visual feedback, and the final sound mix. The cover uses OpenAI image generation; the screenshots show the actual game.

This is a really fun puzzle game✨
I thought the music and atmosphere were very well done.
I did feel like the main character's walking speed was a bit slow. I would have liked to move around a little more smoothly. Though maybe that fits the atmosphere.
It's a shame I couldn't play all the way through due to time constraints.
I'll definitely come back to play it again. 🙂
Such a lovely little puzzle game, and the design is the standout for me - the whole road feels like one coherent place.
One thing I struggled with: I couldn’t quite read the story behind it, and I think it’s because the sound and the visuals pull in different directions. The art leans into mystery and magic, while the music leans into heavy drama, so I never settled into one mood. The beeping also reminds me of a heart monitor - I’m not sure if that’s intentional, maybe it pays off in the ending and I just haven’t got there yet.
Smaller wishes: a bit more speed for the pumpkin carrier, or a sprint button, since he moves with the solemn dignity of someone transporting a very important vegetable 🎃 And a bit of post-processing - some bloom around the lantern, maybe light fog - would add even more magic to the locations. Nice work!
Classic puzzles in a calm, enjoyable environment. Very well done, it was fun going through them. Were the lost embers suppose to do something?
Thanks for playing! I’m really glad you enjoyed the puzzles 😊 I originally planned for the embers to affect the ending, but ran out of time during the jam. In the current version, collecting all of them only changes a line of text at the end. Sorry that wasn’t clearer!
It was a puzzle game with a calm atmosphere, and I enjoyed taking my time to solve the mysteries.
However, I got stuck on Stage 5—I believe the puzzle involved rolling a pumpkin—because I couldn't roll it successfully.
It looks like there are quite a few stages, so it’s a shame I couldn't play through the rest of the puzzles. I think it would be great to have some sort of help feature, like hints.
I really like the 3D design and its cohesive style.
Thanks for the kind words about the atmosphere and visuals! I’m sorry the pumpkin-rolling section in Stage 5 got you stuck; clearer controls and optional hints would definitely help.
Carrying that glowing pumpkin through quiet farms, the clockmaker's cabin, and the echoing cemetery felt less like a mindless arcade run and more like wandering through a melancholy storybook page. It honors the text-first, atmospheric weight I love in interactive fiction, weaving narrative mood directly into physical action puzzles.
Here is my breakdown:
1. Overall Enjoyment & Value:
It’s a deeply atmospheric, cohesive little journey. While it relies on physical puzzle mechanics rather than pure text, the pacing feels meditative and deliberate, drawing me into its quiet, lantern-lit world without frustrating platformer twitchiness.
2. AI Direction & Mastery:
The artistic and textual coherence is tightly managed. Instead of messy artifacts, the assets and melancholic tone feel intentionally curated to reflect folklore.
3. Production Velocity & Scope:
For a 72-hour jam sprint, delivering 12 connected chapters, environmental audio, echoes, and light-refraction mechanics shows how effectively generative tools can scale a compact, narrative-driven adventure.
4. Innovation & Experimentation:
Using the cargo itself—the pumpkin lantern—as the core mechanic for weight, rolling, and light redirection, paired with the time-echo pressure plate mechanic, turns a simple theme into an imaginative, story-infused puzzle structure.
I could tell this was a puzzle game where you solve riddles to move forward, but I got stuck on the 3rd one and didn't know what to do next! I'm guessing it had something to do with the 3 switches and maybe moving or placing the pumpkin somewhere. It might have been a bit too tricky for me.
That said, I really liked the atmosphere and thought the concept was cool! The only minor thing was that the height differences/elevation were a bit hard to tell apart. Still had a good time!
Thanks for playing and pointing this out! I agree that Stage 3 needs clearer guidance and more readable height differences.
