The Biggest Challenge
The biggest challenge was making pumpkin carving feel tactile and easy to read: every cut needed to follow the outline, release the right piece, and reveal the warm lantern underneath. I used AI as a coding partner to iterate on that core loop quickly, then focused on making each order feel distinct and satisfying.

AI Tools Used
Claude Code (Anthropic).

Areas Where AI Was Used
AI-assisted code and implementation. I also used Python/NumPy for procedural voxel-model generation and Blender to export the models.

A truly wonderful game that creates a captivating, moody atmosphere✨✨✨

The nostalgic landscapes rendered in voxels and the stunning glow of the lights—it's incredible! The background music is also wonderful💕

That's precisely why, conversely, I found the sound of the characters speaking—something I wouldn't have noticed at all in other games—a bit jarring. If it didn't break the mood quite so much, I think it would be perfect.

But it's so amazing that I can just put that aside...

I'll definitely be playing this game over and over again. 🥰

That was a lot of fun.  I think the font you used for the final page was missing a black star character(unicode 2605), I had the same thing happen with claude.  It runs fine locally where the missing character gets filled in with a system font.  But then when a web build runs it doesn't have a system font to fall back on so it turns into a square with the unicode numbers in it instead of the intended character.  When I pointed it out to claude on my game it was able to fix it and updated one of it's skill md files to automatically check for it in the future.

Great game! It reminds me of soap-cutting ASMR - very tactile and genuinely pleasant to do. By the fourth customer I felt like a seasoned lantern carver and a bit of a grump about it (four images on one pumpkin? isn’t that a bit much, madam?).

One thing that went wrong: the eyes on the rutabaga never registered, no matter how much I scooped at them with the spoon. I ended up hacking the poor vegetable to pieces 🔪 which visibly upset the Scottish guy. Might be worth a look.

Also, it ran a bit heavy in the browser - maybe fewer draw calls in the background, or simpler props outside the workbench, would help. Lovely work!

I gave it a try! I dug out about two parts, and the actual digging mechanic felt super fun and satisfying. Nice job!

However, maybe because it's in 3D, my PC felt pretty heavy/laggy running it. I was able to dig and deliver the items, but I wished it ran just a bit smoother. Though that might just be an issue on my PC’s end!

As for the 3D guy and character models, this is totally just personal preference, but their wide/goggly eyes felt a little bit creepy to me. I personally tend to prefer cuter character designs.

That said, the core gameplay—figuring out how to dig and the satisfying feeling when what you dug matches up with what's needed—was captured really well!

Really cool. Very polished.

I’ve always wanted to try carving a pumpkin, and I finally got to do it through your game! Seeing my own drawing come to life was such a satisfying experience. I also love the voxel art style and the music. Wonderful work!

I’d been playing pumpkin games and thinking, "I really want to carve a pumpkin," so this game was perfect! It was fun how the sensation of scooping out the inside with a spoon or knife was so carefully recreated using blocks.
