Clean! Smashing zombie heads with the crowbar was super satisfying. I would have loved to be able to skip the dialogue once I was done reading. Great job!
Really cool as a tech demo, the atmosphere is great, but I wish there was a bit more gameplay or at least a couple more zombies if you go upstairs. My favorite part was the zombie head exploding into a bunch of cubes lol, nice touch.
This is great, the atmosphere is on point. The web player worked well in fullscreen for me, a minor issue in getting to the menu because esc comes out of fullscreen but it wasn't an issue.
The crowbar swing and breaking of the planks felt chunky and satisfying, the movement speed and stamina are balanced well to reinforce the atmosphere.
It would be nice to have a skip button for the dialog as it stays on screen a bit too long. I tested the fire at the start to see if it did damage (has to be done right!) which meant I had to sit through the into dialog again, not a big deal.
I found the flashlight a little too bright sometimes and it obscured what I was looking at.
I'd be excited to play again once you've done more.
Love the SIMPLE design.
This was a great short experience! when i picked up pistol ammo at the end i thought here comes the action time , was super engrossed! Best of luck for future!
Really nice to play the ui was well done.
The radio was a nice touch and added to the atmosphere of the game
Amazing what you accomplished as a tech demo would love to play more
Great job building this with the single pack, the SIMPLE packs give it a particular lo-fi vibe. I did find it a bit too dark, even with the brightness up, which was a little frustrating. A really great build for just one week though, did you build out the whole level by hand or use some procedural generation?
Good catch! Proc-gen was certainly used for the buildings and the rooms but a lot of manual placement was done. Furniture and rooms were compeltely proc gen but the loot (because it was tutorial level) was hand placed so I could encourage and discourage exploration into certain areas. I actually had a few different, much larger, buildings that were generated but decided to stick with one of the earlier iterations as the small size helped with the tutorial vibes and with guiding the player via handplaced environmental constraints :D
Rating: 5/5
Outstanding survival horror! The gameplay loop is seamless, and unlike a lot of jam entries, the objectives and navigation are crystal clear. The level of detail is top-notch, and the radio static transitions with subtitled translations were such a creative, atmospheric touch. Super polished experience overall!
Yo, this was sick! I wish there was more! The audio is really good. I liked the garbled voice and how you get reward for exploring as it leads you out. I would totally play more if there was more.
I hope it counts but only one pack was used (Simple Apocalyse) for 3D assets. This is more of a tech-demo and tutorial level than a full game but still quite proud of this entry. Enjoy!
