very polished! love the artwork. the music got a little repetitive, but that's my only complaint, solid submission!

RAHHHH THE ARTWORK AND THE POLISH IS SO SO SO GOOD??? I played it quite a few times before but forgot to rate/comment ahah. Investigating the people was so cool, really reminded me of the paper please mechanics, one of my favorite games of all time. i'm very impressed to what you've accomplished within such a short amount of time with this much polish

Really nice artwork and great levels of polish here; this really came together beautifully for y'all! I did feel like the combination of a) me being really slow in investigating folks and b) night coming on really quickly each day (further affecting my ability to investigate folks) made the days go faster than I'd have liked, and I'd be curious if y'all considered having the clock stop for each interview and basing the length of a day on the number of interviews rather than wall time?

Developer

The number of people you investigate does not matter. This was a deliberate choice for the jam because I wanted everyone to be able to play and finish the game. So you don't need to feel pressured into investigating as many people as possible :)

I guess I could've made the time scale a setting. In fact that's already kind of a thing because I set it to be 1s = 1h in the Unity editor for testing purposes :D

The artwork on this game is very solid. This sure looks super polished. However, the dialogues when I interact with potential suspects are the same thing every day. I love the day and night cycle for each day. The fact that I have to perform a bunch of process in detecting if the person is allowed into the country is a really cool idea. I felt I made too mistakes as I kept getting emails saying this person shouldn't have been arrested or be allowed into the country.

Yes, they are just categories. So there will always be "What's your purpose" and depending on the data, it will respond differently

This is fantastic, what a charming game

Wow, the art in this is amazing! There's so much going on here, and an impressive amount of polish around every corner. Really impressed you pulled this off in two weeks. I especially like the little details, like the headlights on the cars and how everything looks at night. It gives the game some really nice atmosphere. Even the transitions between the computer screens felt super smooth and satisfying to use.

The emails were fun too and a lot to the game. They made me curious to see what else would show up as the days went on. I played the good cop and ignored all the bribes though, haha. There's a lot of attention to detail here; really impressive work.

I played evil and keep accepting bribes and cleared game in 8 days :O

This is so cool.  I really like the art especially and it feels incredibly polished for a game jam.  I was able to click around and do what I wanted to get done.  It was cool to get to find all the different art pieces that felt like the real win.

I do agree the tutorial did block some of the important info.  Definitely helped me get acquainted though!

Good game well done

This is actually a really good game expecially for the time limit I don't know how you pulled it off! Great artwork that really has a nice feel to it and it all feels cohesive without being cluttered. A perfect amount of mechanics that doesn't feel too confusing. The only thing and other people are saying this too is that the tutorial UI blocked a lot of valuable buttons and felt sort of confusing. Other than this, good work!

Reminds me of Papers Please!

There seems to have a lot of issues with the tutorial UI overlapping the stuff I need to click or read especially on the 2nd day, such as when you are to select the question to ask the person. There also seems to be too much clicking to navigate different features like copying and checking for ID, license plate, license card. Just have them appear on the table like in papers please.

The email about denying all women entry was pretty funny, got me for a few bit. The phishing emails are really good part to this game. Art is really good also. Music felt like has too much static for some reason but is otherwise pretty cosy.

Nice Papers, Please-style game! The overall game design is seamless, along with great SFX and beautiful character art in particular! As a composer, I appreciate the use of FMOD for vertically layered music, and did you also use it for the end of levels too so that the music ends in a way that felt logical and not disruptive? The music is well made, but players like me will probably end up spending a long time for each level/day, so I think it's better to start with the full arrangement of each track to keep the player's interest high, and then cycle between 2-3 tracks either within each day or alternating days. Beyond that, excellent job with the interplay between screens and menus like the computer screen, notepad, dialogue, and verdict menu. In the end, I just arrested everyone and accepted bribes to pay off my debt xD. Great game, team!

well done! the fact that you managed to get all this done in such a short time is mad, i love the art style!

This is nothing like I thought it would be from seeing the wordmark, but I am glad I tried it, the art is just so incredibly beautiful and drawing that much in two weeks is incredible. The music was fire. I love the concept but I didn't really feel the stakes of it, and the UI was a little clunky. Overall, great submission!
