wow! That’s a big screen for my small screen adventure! Thank you so much for sharing, glad you enjoyed it.

A de-make of the Ourobit browser game - optimised for the Game Boy Advance.
FREE early access version available here

wow! thank you so much! - I've continued development if you want to try a more current version - you can find it here

Wow, thank you for the kind words.

works fine after your update, so seems you squeezed the bug!

I have no idea how you managed to do all this within the sort timeframe! Great atmosphere, visuals, and sound. A bit easy to get lost, so I'm glad you shared the walkthrough. A few clipping and collision issues (managed to walk through the stranded whale).  That being said, I'm super impressed with what you have done.

fun, stressful, frustrating... fun! I enjoyed the minimalist style, and core game loop. - would have loved a few more mini games for variation  + maybe a few effects, like adding some particles, a screen shake etc. to give players those little elevated moments. All in all a solid entry with future potential.

Thank you for your feedback, I have created a little fix - if you have the time please try again with xbox controller and keyboard, and let me know if it works.

Might be a bug in Safari, and other Mac browsers? When I start the game, it goes to full screen mode, however the game canvas is only a tiny rectangle in the upper left hand corner, which makes it really difficult to read the instructions, grab the corner handles precisely. From the little bit I did manage to play, visuals, sounds, and mechanics seemed to complement each other really well, and the idea is a calm and refreshing take on the theme.

Thank you for the kind words - and I'm really happy it worked on your mobile too (I was only able to test it on 2 devices, which made me a bit nervous )

I really like the idea, and appreciate what you are doing, even though it's not quite my type of game.  Things changing when you open and close your eyes, spotting the details, not to mention quite a bit of story and world building with primarily text is impressive.

Retro arcade fun at its best, visuals are great! as others have mentioned reloading the page is a bit annoying, and I'm not sure if you use frame rate independent timing? on my laptop things escalated really fast making the game extremely hard. Anyway, fun spin on a classic.

Any chance of a browser version?

So happy you enjoyed the unique maps, it’s one of my favorite things too. You can toggle the text on/off with ‘H’ to get a clear look at your creations

You keep building fun little games! Love it!

Thank you so much! Really appreciated your game too

Thank you for playing and your feedback. I did consider holding space to jump continuously  - however ended up  implementing the double jump that you get a bit later, which created a bit more gameplay variation.

Clever game on so many layers! Fun and challenging game loop, stylish visuals and ambient soundtrack. Well polished, great work!

oh no! Sorry to hear that, was only able to test with PS controller - will try to resolve it - thank you for giving it a try

loved the minimal art style and detail, and as already mentioned adjusting the speed of the music to match the run is a brilliantly fun idea.

This was a fun little platform puzzle game - love the minimal visuals, and impressed with the amount of levels you managed to make. I've seen other similar concepts before, however pulling it of in 7 days in a 1-bit challenge is impressive. Well done

OUROBIT

Collect orbs, grow longer,, and try not to get tangled in your own tail.

Play it for FREE here

Quite obviously inspired by the classic Snake game - but hopefully with a few interesting twists to challenge you.
Ourobit is a bite-size retro arcade experience created  by addSoul Play for 1-BIT JAM #13 with the theme: "There is no end...?"

Stumbled upon https://namatakahashi.itch.io/oo which is a cute, fun little bomb, puzzle platformer. Thought I'd share and also mention Nama Takahashi's other games https://namatakahashi.itch.io/elechead and https://namatakahashi.itch.io/projectionremains all of which have some very strong ideas and interesting game mechanics.

Hope you will enjoy the games as much as I have

Haven't manage to reach a length above 900 lately - feel free to share your stats, and if you want a screenshot of your tiny planet (Hint: you can press 'H' to toggle on/off all text and buttons)

This is really a fun little game! Great bounciness and game-juice. Knowing this is a 1-bit game jam (2 solid colours) you might want to turn off the antialiasing you have on some elements, and the opacity fades - see if they can use the dithering approach too. With that said, at its core it is a great play.

Thanks for testing my little game - happy you had fun playing it

Stunning visuals, and fun little concept - well done!

Thank you so much for giving Gear Up a go, happy you had fun with it, and appreciate your feedback, and sharing the stats.

thank you for testing the game and giving feedback. I don’t mind you being critical, there are valid points,

I needed to keep things simple to manage the scope, hence just one sort of gear design in different sizes. And as you pointed out it is a Suika-like with a few twists which was something I thought I could manage with the time I had.

Regarding music, I’m sorry if anyone feels I let the community down. I personally use these jams to experiment with various new tools and workflows.

Anyway, I appreciate your point of view and you taking the time to post it here

Ah, what a shame! hopefully you can find a free asset somewhere.

oh, no worries! would have loved to try it, and see it in action!

Screenshots look great! any chance of a build you can play in the browser?

dangerous indeed - I spent so much time getting caught up playing the game while testing mechanics

Thank you for playing

Ha ha, yeah, once the thought hit me, I couldn't let it go and had to implement it!

Ah, fair enough, great to use the jam to challenge yourself and learn new tools.

Any chance for a build that can be played in the browser? Visuals look cool, but don't want to vote without trying the game.

Рада, что вашей команде было весело – меня это точно рассмешило! Отличная работа!

Took me a bit to figure out the mechanics, but once I did, it's a pretty funky puzzle machine.

Having a bit of introduction either on the itch page or in the game would probably make it easier for people to pick up and play. Liked the art style and music, would have loved some subtle sound effects when switching on and off things and turning the dials.

Great core game loop, with the added pressure of running out of battery. And appreciate the options to turn spikes, fake batteries and light on and off. Give the player time to familiarise themselves with the controls, before challenging themselves. I hope you'll develop it further.
