Very nice game, very cute.
The game was very loud when I opened it. I’m hyper-sensitive to sound, so it scared me half to death. I would recommend the game opening with settings turned down a bit.
The gameplay was delightful, I have no major criticisms there.
Well done, keep up the good work!
Omg Im sorry for the sound. Yes I figured my game's sound is too loud because whenever I opened it after playing other people's games I got jump scared too... and you know the icky feeling you get about you own game's sound because you've heard it too much so yes I completely understand and will fix that after the jam. Im glad you enjoyed the game!
The game felt a bit too easy since I managed to serve people better by just spamming but the animations and desings are cute and the game even if its simple cant say I didnt enjoyed it. Also Its such a good Idea of making jam from the little currants that runs around while you try to serve customers. Made me felt a little bad about them
Yes I will add some set backs when you choose the wrong item instead of mindfully choosing the items. But the thing is although you can perfectly fulfill the orders, you need to make a jam to win and just fulfilling orders is not going to result in the win.
Initially, I received so many feedback about how the game is too hard so I kinda nerfed it and set the default difficulty as medium. That's why it feels easy for some now!
I love ahrtstyle
Loved it! But i WAS STRESSIN, trying my best to get everything right hahahah
Haha happy you enjoyed!
Simple but effective!
I like the whimsical idea of the currants trying to save their friends, and keeping an eye on them while also serving the customers was an enjoyable challenge.
It's also nice to have not only 3 difficulty levels, but also the option of striving for all the achievements.
I will update the game after the jam to add an infinite round and scoring system and some othe fixes people have suggested.
Was pretty fun, but sounds hurt my brain. Was satisfying.
What I would Change:
What was really good:
Sorry to hear that the sfx sounded annoying. And you cant spam click to win cause winning only happens if you make the jam. But you're right, choosing the wrong item should have some penalty to avoid spamming.
I was able to spam all the buttons quickly is what I meant. Like I can spam it fast enough to always make all the jellies.
Very interesting game idea! It is very well polished for a game jam game. 5 stars for theme connection ^^
Thanks!
I like that you give a tutorial at the beginning so players are not lost. The art and the ui was also very nice, I can see that a lot of work was put into it. Love the little guys design :D
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Hey Shiman, here are some notes for the game:
- The art is cool and cute!
- I'd love to hear music also in game
- To me the game feels like 2 different games, filling the orders and picking up the currants feels disconnected
- I think since the game is quite simple and repetitive, there should be more emphasis on fulfilling the orders, especially doing it quickly, maybe some kind of combo system or something and some satisfying "number go up" mechanics
- Or maybe putting the currants in the bowl should somehow affect everything else increasing the order time or something
- There should also be more emphasis on when you fail to fill an order and what the status is on that, I didn't look at the failed orders count until I actually lost
Hi there! Thanks for the feedback.
yes it's actually two games and the story was supposed to bind the two games together but unfortunately I wasn't able to tell the story properly in the game itself (the story is there in the description if you're interested)
For your other suggestions, yes you're right. I will update this game in the future and make it more tidy and real-game like. This was my first Jam experience and I didn't have enough experience to implement these things. I'm happy people like you exist who really care and give such helpful feedbacks. Thank you so much!
alright! ill start with the positives. i think that the art is very nice! i like it a lot, the music fits the vibe and the theme in my opinion. the rush to try and manage both the currants and the orders was very fun! i also think the menu was very cute :). i also wanna point out that you really framed the game space good, the orders on top, the currants in the middle and the stuff you need for orders on the bottom. its very well made and i have to applaud you on that, the player looks at the order first then moves their eyes down and sees a currant and puts it in the jar and then makes the order. i also was very happy you added difficulty levels and thats a quality of life thing that many people would overlook.
i have quite a bit of feedback with this one. i was a little confused with why i should put the currants in the cup at first, i thought they were like stealing customers from me. i also think that what happens when you fail an order should be explained rather than just leaving it up to players interpretation of what they think will happen imo!
i think you could've added music to the bakery itself that sounded kinda rushy and desperate. mainly because that contributes to the overall gameplay loop in a positive way in my opinion.
i think that progression and expanding the gameplay beyond one session could greatly benefit the game. like my main thing is that the game felt a bit too short. of course its a game jam, i cant entirely expect a game to be too long or for you to over scope. im pointing this out here because i think that a small incentive to restart at the very least could make it a very addicting and rewarding experience if you chose to continue this project. you could def implement this in a not too hard way with customers.
i actually do think also that the difficulty is kinda easy? like for instance i didnt really feel punished very much by missing customer orders. it felt like i could just tank some of the customer orders if i really needed to. i think hard difficulty maybe should spike difficulty a little more. you could also just maybe make it so that if you miss a certain amount of customers maybe your bakery tanks.
i think that the art style isn't super consistent? this is more of a nitpick because i think it does still blend together quite well in the end.
this is a game i truly see potential in, i see it very easily being able to be improved on and becoming an addictive game! good job and good work!!! if you continue this please let me know because i honestly would like to follow this game if it continues, i genuinely did enjoy it.
Thanks for investing the time to give me this feedback I truly appreciate that. I agree to most of them and will try to fix it after the jam.
And your comment on Hard mode being so easy? I think you're pretty good at games! might add an insane mode just to challenge you haha
A fun bit of difficulty! Love the style and the game play. For a first time game jam, it's really amazing!
Thanks I'm happy you enjoyed it!!
It's really hard but I love these types of games so its ssoooo fun! Amazing work for a first time game jam!
Sweet, short, simple. Bloody fascinating. This can be an adorable little browser game!
... Oh wait, it is! Ahaha.
As many have said, the game can indeed be stressful. But you were even able to solve that problem through adding a difficulty! ... Well, maybe could have added that whenever you try to start a new game, but still
Jolly good, jolly good, enjoyed it a lot.
Thanks for the positive feedback and I'm happy you enjoyed it! Sure I will keep that in mind.
Nice tutorial in the beginning! That was a really simple and clear way to explain the game.
Cute setting and I was shocked by how quickly it became difficult haha.
Great job!
Thanks! glad you liked it.
damn, pretty cute game, also fairly challeging... "little currants are trying to save their friends" WAIT I'M THE VILLAIN???? ðŸ˜
Uhhhhh.... Yeah....
Real cool game! It was a little stressfull, but lots of fun!
Thanks for playing!
very nice game! just the right amount of stress that i dont feel too stressed but also not boring, the visuals are also very nice. good job!
Thanks for playing! Glad you liked it!
cool game, I didn't know about the currants and I dont have time to play knowing about them, gotta rate more, I really wish I used my time as wisely as you did since this is a good game
Thanks!
Good work on your game! The match game was actually pretty fun and really kept my brain engaged. I enjoyed the multitasking between catching the running currants and fulfilling the order. The game was difficult, but not so much so that I couldn't finish it, which I personally enjoy. My biggest criticism is that I'm kinda confused why we're catching running currants and putting them in a jar in the first place. The currant catching and the order matching kinda feel like two different game ideas stitched together but without much reason.
Regardless, I still had fun with it. Well done :)
Im glad you enjoyed my game. This is a Jam shop and the little currants run in the shop trying to save their little friends on the shelf from turning into a jam, but the shopkeeper catches the currants as well and makes jam out of them too! That's the story that I think I wasn't able to clarity properly in the game itself.
Ahhh okay that makes sense. Cute lil idea! Glad they're revolting tbh, the shopkeeper has oppressed them for far too long
Such a cute take on the theme! Very well made and polished too, good job :)
Thanks for playing!
