How does your game fit the theme?
It's about a Count named Down who is always sad, and he has to go down to rescue his loved one :D

Really like the pixel art style. I did figure out that I could cheese the bosses though. If you load them just barely on the edge of the screen, you can shoot and kill them without activating their movement/attacks. Just make them invincible until the intro text for the boss is triggered, and you should be good!
The art style was great and the game was enjoyable overall. The S+J part was a little hard but the game is relatively good. I would appreciate it if you could also rate mine :)
I don't play many games in this genre, but this game was really cute and engaging with lovely nostalgic pixel art! The story itself is adorable although there were few typos and grammatic errors in the intro (there's also a typo in the description "Down below you go, to meet a bride inside, caged and unafraid, waiting for a count that has yes to come down. " should be "yet") but that doesn't really matter for the enjoyment of the game. Also i found shooting with s+j was very awkward. A traditional keybinds with wasd and shoot with LMB wouldve been personally more ergonomic. Overall a very well made game. Great job!
The platforming mechanics felt really good and I felt the minimalist pixel art style really fitted the darker setting. I did notice that after the first boss the gameplay started to feel a bit samey. Maybe it would've been better to focus on a shorter experience with some more variety? Having your life counting down constantly is a really fun idea but I felt like in the current version it was a little bit too easy to recover causing it to never really being a challenge to the platforming mechanics.
thanks for playing!
Count Erattack is definitely the hardest boss in the game, and despite my best efforts at making his moveset obvious with his name and dialogue, barely anyone has figured it out yet lol.
The fight is inspired by crash-man from megaman 2, but seeing as that's megaman, Erattack is significantly easier.
He only moves back and forth and will never jump or shoot a projectiles until you press the attack button, in which case he does his counterattack.
The hilarious character name puns and fast paced action platforming mechanics make rescuing Miss Direction so much fun!
Game feels polished, fun platformer with a simple but cool artstyle, I loved the font used and textboxes. The overall presentation is really good. Idk if it was bugged for me or something but I had no music in game, it would have been nice to have music for the boss fights at least. Also the game was a bit too easy for me, I kinda just threw myself at enemies and drain tanked them with the orbs that they drop.
Overall very good job!
There are simply no words, incredible music and pixel art! Special respect for the use of Godot!!
In a jam filled with Count Down puns (including our game) having bunch more pun names is the logical evolution.
I really liked this game, the combat felt responsive and fun, the poetry and pun names were extremely funny and I did not expect this many boss fights (however simple) in a jam, one thing I'd change is honestly replacing the ranged attack with a sword attack similar to the down slash because it felt like the down slash was a way more satisfying attack then the regular one, outside of that though basically a perfect little game, good job
Thank you for trying the game out. We did start out making the game a Megaman clone with a going down theme. But in the end it changed a quite a bit with more puns and more bosses, but it’s only 4 days. I do think your suggestion about changing the shoot to a melee really fixes quite a few points other commenters have pointed out.
I would have liked the level design to be a bit more interesting. But the gameplay felt smooth and responsive, and the puns and poetry kept me going until the end!
This game reminds me of the old Mega Man games, but it's a pity that if the background music had been better, my experience would have been much more complete. Anyway, this is a promising game.
Congratulations, this game is just amazing, pretty original way of using the count down as a character.
Another feel trip as I've come to expect from you. Well done! I enjoyed it! The combat is surprisingly hard!
I'd recommend considering binding the attack controls to mouse buttons in addition to J.
