This is not my cup of tea, I don't usually play cozy/farming games. I always like having a goal to strive for lol.
I still appreciated your take on the theme. I think is clever, and it's support from different gameplay elements. The only thing I want to point out, is that the game would looks way better polishing the UI a bit.
Overall I think is a very creative entry, thank for your submission!
Cute pixel art with a touch of existential dread! Awesome project! :)
Well I wouldn't call it so dramatic :D
Rather just... Friendly reminder. Not a threat)
Thanks for your time! <3
so nostalgic, like the pixel art love it
Cute jam entry ! Calming music, love the harp and nature sounds, and grandpa's grunts are hilariously realistic. It's true that the grass regrows too fast so the progression feels more like busywork, and the timer (251k hours?) is a bit confusing. Still awesome for 4 days with this many mechanics, would love to see it polished more !
Hey! Thanks for your time and shared feedback! <3
Well, timer is not exactly about what happens in game)
Unfortunately game is unfinished, and I didn't have enough time to add some clarity to main idea behind this... Installation) I made it within only 2 days :D Which of course is on me and should not be an excuse) But yeah, it is what it is) I might finish it after the jam, but it's not gonna be like "extended version", it will be more refined and with some plot to it. Plot, you got it eh?))
Unfortunately the audio mixing was rather jarring. My headphones were just under half volume and the sfx for the timer and crows were still extremely loud after turning the game itself down to 40%.
I feel like maybe I could enjoy this with more time, however I think that the grass regrowing so quickly makes that feeling of progression you get from farming RPGs in the early game as you clear little bits of extra space feels missing, as it then just feels like you are going through more motions. IDK if this is meant to be an incremental game and I'm missing something there.
This isn't to say I don't like the idea. I like the idea that "yeah, there's a countdown technically, but don't really worry about it." Hell, most farming sims have a cut off date in their stories anyway which is well into the future, I just feel like the bones aren't quite there sadly.
Hey! Thanks for your time and the feedback! I really appreciate you sharing your experience! <3
Yes, the game is not actually finished or polished unfortunately( Sound is indeed not adjusted correctly, and Rooster is NOT getting quieter at all :D Which is kind of... Conceptual haha, but no, that's a bug.
It's not an incremental game, nor really a farming sim. It's more of a "philosophical installation". It has something to it (honeslty :D ), but I totally understand your confusion, It's all unclear)
Yeah, I apologise that I was probably coming at it from the wrong angle as I was playing it. There's also kind of the pressure when rating a whole bunch of game jams that a slower moving game is kind of difficult to get immersed into unfortunately.
Oh, that actually totally valid point!
No, no, you were totally right, it's actually unclear what's going on, and I totally get that confusion, so Thank you for sharing! <3
First game here I’ve seen that makes the countdown very large and just tells you to not really worry about it. A good reminder that we all have our own countdowns I guess. Nice work!
That's the main idea here) I know it's rather "conceptual" and may feel cheap at some point. But eeh) It is what it is :D
Also it's unfortunately unfinished, so a lot of thoughts here are totally unclear)
Thanks for your time, and I'm glad it made you feel something) I may consider this experimens as successful then))
A cozy game that helps you pause and reflect on life. Thank you
Thanks for your time! I'm glad you enjoyed it a tiny bit
Music & SFX - the music track is very calming, and the harp was a great choice! I loved the addition of birds and nature sounds, the rooster, the sounds of tending the soil, the grandpa however, could have had more varied voicelines tho, he was going "oii" every 3 seconds
Artstyle - very cute, colorful, fits the vibe, I wish there were more grandpa animations instead of just shaking his butt towards the camera haha!
Is there a way to cancel actions? I selected like 30 tiles, but I realized I had to water the crops and it was queued after all those 30 tiles. Refreshing the website didn't restart my game
I wish he had a little bed or a house, he just sleeps on the grey floor :(
Then UI is unfortunately unfinished.
The timer was very confusing. 251k hours? What was the reason for such number?
Overall good job! It was a cute base for an idle game that can be very enjoyable if polished in the future!
Good luck in the jam guys :D
Oh, WOW! Thanks for such a wholesome feedback! I really appreciate it! <3
Okay, so) Granpa actually have plenty of "grunting" sounds, some of them may be more noticable? But same "oii" every 3 seconds should not be the case anyways, so that's odd(
Unfortunately I had way less time on the game than I would've wanted) It was made in less than 2 days, so yeah, I had to choose ONE animation :D And yes, the game is obviously unfinished (UI, Decorations, animations and even actual plot hints, haha)
About making a huge action queue) I know that may be frustrating, but that's intentional, don't rely too much on those far fetched plans, and do not overcommit to it, like this stubborn old man) Maybe sometimes you should take it slowly and in small steps) Also, when you're old (he's), don't plan too far ahead) :D Yes, progress presists, it's not a "one session game") (You can clear cache though).
Ah, the timer. There is a reason for it) It never stops, even when you're not playing) It's a metaphor of sorts.
Thank you again for your time! <3
Really liked the vibes of this- the music and sound effects were perfect and cozy, but I felt bad making him work so much haha! Neat game :)
thanks for your time, I'm glad you enjoyed it <3
That's a rare feel for a game :D Dont feel bad, he's there willingly. I promise)
Farmer Twerking Simulator 2026! I like how the yellow square grows to show a tile's work progress.
the old man really was... plowing the land indeed xD
i think this would be an awesome idle game, it doesnt need a lot but its still fun! i wish i could skip his sleep cycle though. Nice voice acting too!
Sleep is important!)
Thanks for playing and sharing your thoughts! <3 Appreciate it!
Dang, gramps was really going for it with those plants, lol! Quite a chill experience with some cozy audio and gameplay.
He's alone there for who know how long)
Thanks for playing <3
Very chill game! I liked the introspective vibe and the art is so cute and full of life. It makes me want to go plant a garden. The music was also really nice and calming.
Thanks for playing and your feedback! <3
Art is... Actually some free assets, so I guess I should pass that to the actuall artist, haha) Sounds though are handcrafted and voiceacted for the game :D
Very cozy, though I'm not sure I'm comfortable with what that man is doing to the ground XD
Hey, I would look at you all gracefull on a farm :D
Everything is decent, so try to keep those nasty thoughts at bay :D
There's something funny about the volume settings not making the rooster quieter :)
A nice idler for “playing on a second screen”.
Unless I would like to open some optimization tools. And it’s worth teaching the player better how and what works. It took a while to figure it out.
But for a jam game it's a good job!
Or you can use it as a timer))
Yeah, the game itself unfortunately incomplete, maybe i'll give it another pass to make it more clear, and actually add some plot. Which is intended, but not implemented, so now it's all looks pretty pointless, haha)
Thanks for your time and Feedback! Appreciate it!
I prepared the soil but didn't understand how to plant. I didn't understand what determines whether I can buy seeds.
Oh, damn(
so, there is a mistake in crops prices, which kinda ruins A LOT. I mentioned it in description, but yes, that's real bad((
You have Coins upper left corner, and for choosing crops to plant you click on a crop "panel", where the buy button is. It should have highlight. You don't have to choose action, the grandpa knows what to do, just click a tile.
But yeah, it could've been more clear, I totally get it. Unfortunately I didn't actually make it in 4 days, but in 2 😅.
Thanks for giving it a try and for the feedback! Perhaps you could give it another chance? 😄
Very chill experience. Loved the composition of the visuals and sounds. Also makes me feel very old via nostalgia for late 90s / early 2000s isometric RTS games with the artstyle :)
Oooh, Nostalgia? I didn't aim for that, so good to know)
Thanks for your time, and I hope you enjoyed a tiny bit <3
Nice chill farming sim. It could use tooltips on the tiles though, and a clearer goal, what are we actually working toward here.
Well, no goal was my initial plan) Then I found a better one. But didn't make it :D And yes it does miss a lot of things, unfortunately I had way less time that I would have wanted) Roughly managed to put together the very core, haha)
Thanks for your time and feedback! <3
I am huge stardew valley fan, so a cozy farm game is not what I wanted, it's what i needed :)
Thanks! <3
I guess not the most common type of game this jam, considering Theme)
I hope you'll enjoy your time playing it)
No offense, but when I first clicked on the land, the character started doing something a bit weeird! I quickly realized he was just tilling the soil...so its fine.
it’s a very cozy experience. Great work on the game!
Damn farm bends you all the inappropriate ways, right?))
And you didn't see the pumpkin, thats where things get real spicy :D
i also like when the old man pisses on the soil too LMAO
