viscera cleanup detail if it was epic>
p.s. the casette collectathon is such a nice addition >:DD gottafetchemall
Such a well made 3D game, wow :0
Aspirational 3D level and environment design! Almost every aspect is far beyond the quality that I would expect from a jam game. I think this will place very highly
Did I gather all of the trash? (maybe) Did I figure out halfway through that I could INSTEAD collect cassette tapes? (maybe) Did I STILL COLLECT ALL OF THE TRASH AND CASSETTE TAPES?! (okay yes and it took like 90 minutes)
FREAKING insane how did you make this in four days?? It gives major Spyro/Crash Bandicoot/Banjo Kazooie which are very obvious influences. I love it. Sorry to all of the other games I could have been rating instead... but this is fire 🔥
My only criticism is please please please adjust the camera sensitivity I yeeted myself into the trash compactor so many times I ought to have had an increase on the trash counter every time I respawned... 😭
Also maybe make the trash compactor suck the items in? It would be very satisfying to throw the trash more into its general area and not get it stuck in a dumb corner (from which I will inevitably yeet myself into the trash compactor AGAIN AAARRRGGHH)
We've been finding it very addictive too! So glad you enjoyed it!! :D
Sometimes it feels like I blink and the rest of the team has built up an entire game, they're all very talented and work very hard for the jam is all I can say.
There should be a slider on the pause menu (esc) for sensitivity, though it's possible that you still can't adjust it to your liking - we definitely would've liked to add more customisation to the mouse sensitivity 😅
The grinders do have a slight suck on them, we struggled to settle on a balance as to how much they should suck (helpfully) and how much they should suck (be bad) to make you work for it, some of us found it quite fun with some of the grinders where you had to get pretty close to them and risk your life to get some of the trash! I hear you though, we definitely could've spent a little more time refining that ☺️
...
👀
I played this game for NINETY MINUTES and I didn't pause once.
☠️
That might be the best compliment we've received so far 😳 We'll have to work out a way to better nudge people towards the menu next time though!
Especially when you've gone to the trouble of making it actually look cool inside! Just criminal.
Haha, glad you had fun (sorry it's such a long game to complete, still I'm pleased you did :D )
I think for a few of us, it basically became a hyperfocus for 4 days so we really got stuck in. Initially we had some doubts about the idea but when it started to come together it was difficult to picture anything else I guess.
If you ever go for another 90 minute run there is a sensitivity slider in esc menu once in game, though UI is a weakspot for us so it's hidden in the corner with default unity looking stuff >.>
As for the criticism of our trash compactors, you'll have to bring it up with eVil Co's health and safety department. It's almost like they want you to fall in smh.
Thanks for playing!
It really is a shame all of the tools around here are built by eVil Co. Talk about planned obsolescence!
...slider works perfectly... Just didn't know it was there 😭
Damn this game is really well made, every thing is so nice including the music and SFXs, and the tasks are really simple to understand, the game play is really enjoyable, thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I really loved this game and its concept the 3d models look super good and the mechanics of getting rid of the trash the game overall is very well executed for a 4 day long jam its actually impressive i could see this game being a success on steam, well done!
Great job on your submission! I really liked the 3D art style. The colors, the atmosphere, and the overall presentation are excellent. The environment really makes you feel like you're inside a prison.
I also want to congratulate you on the creative way you adapted the game to the jam theme. Great work!
At first when I opened the game, I thought "Ahh it's another work-after-work kind of game", but when I let it cook, surprisingly, the game felt really engaging! Didn't regret a single minute playing it. I loved everything - from controls and movement to the content (music, low poly 3d models, conversations, etc)
I think there were a lot of concerns internally about that too, especially during the discussion phase! I'm glad that's not been the case for you though and that you had such a good time with it, thank you for the kind words ☺️
This game is HUUUGE, (sadly I don't have the time to be cleaning all of Alcatrash right now but I will come back to this haha) The cassettes are all bangers, I'm completely with Clyde on this one. I don't know if later on there are more powerfull tools to speed up the cleaning but right now it seems like an enormous task haha, also idk how the gravity gun works I seem to be only able to pick up one item, which is the same as picking up one item regularly :(
Thanks for making this awesome game!!
Yeah the game takes a while to complete if you want to clean all the rubbish haha, though Clyde offers an easier exit if not. Each of the tools has a specific use which can be used to make your life easier somewhat, but also allow you to tackle different trash various ways. The gravity gun is strong because it can pick up ALL trash, so the heavy crates, the rocks, the broken walls and heavy cardboard boxes can all be thrown with them and it throws further too!
Glad you liked the music too JJ our audio guy wasn't too sure he could get behind the game idea and theme, but he knocked it out of the park with the music!
Hope you do come back and give it a full playthrough, we love to see people's completion times! Thanks for playing and hope you had fun!
I genuinely feel like I’m playing a full game lol. I really love the art style and the rocking song that I was listening to… absolutely love it 100%. You should consider putting this game on Steam.
Thanks for playing, happy you had a good time with it :)
The cassette songs are a highlight for me too, been listening to them a bunch since the jam ended!
This game felt a lot like Viscera Cleanup Detail to me in the sense of clean up the trash but make more mess while you're at it. It was very cozy and satisfying to play, and if you approach it like Viscera Cleanup, then the few points that may have been a bit frustrating otherwise (such as the throwing being a little clunky, or some of the tools being rude on some collisions, etc) are just part of the charm. Amazing work for just the time of the jam!
Thanks! There was a lot of time spent tweaking the grinders and acid pools to make them feel satisfying to throw stuff into! It's funny it ended up so much like a cosy clean up game. Initially we nearly went with an incremental clicker style game, where you bought tools to get the trash down. Personally I'm pleased with how it shifted direction. Hope you had fun with it!
This has to be one of the coziest games I’ve played in the jam so far. I honestly can’t believe you managed to pull something this polished together in such a short amount of time.
I spent way more time than I probably should have just exploring the island, and collecting trash before throwing it into the trash shredder was so satisfying!
The atmosphere, art style, sound design, and overall pacing made it such a relaxing experience. It was the perfect game to unwind with after playing a bunch of more intense jam entries.
Great work! I can definitely see myself coming back to this one even after the jam. Best of luck! 🏂🎮✨
Means a lot to hear you enjoyed the exploration. We honestly weren't sure if a clean up game like this would be too overwhelming and boring for people to actually put any time into, so it's nice to know folks are actually looking around and just playing it like a sandbox almost.
If you do come back, you'll have to post your completion time!
How did you made aaaaaall of this in 4 days ?? Now, I haven't spent a lot of time doing what you're supposed to do (foreshadowing...) but it looks like there's a whole game in this and it could be released as is. The environment, the art, the vibe, the dialogues, everything comes together perfectly.
I assume you have to get the music to bribe the guard. I did a little differently tho...

Perfectly valid solution! Some of us have been speedrunning it internally and the record is 13 seconds for a similar method to yours :P There are sort of 3 major ways to finish the game though ☺️
I'm so grateful for all the dialogue compliments, truth be told they were written in a panic at 2am when the rest of the team said we should get some of our NPCs down so I figured id have some fun with them! Our modeller and level design guy, MaxusCorkus, is so talented with his artwork and way of laying things out
I'd assume the speedrun has to do with collision abuse? I noticed you can get launched upward when jumping and dropping a box at the same time, sometimes.
Exactly! It's helpful in the all cassette runs we've been doing too. The all trash run is another beast all together though ;)
Honestly I considered putting barbed wire up there on the gate, but decided against it. Figured it'd be funny if people wanted to climb their way to places. Nice to hear someone did haha
Man I just realized the songs in the game are actually made by you guys?? I know some are parodies but I thought you just got them from the internet. I only realized when I tried to look them up. You gotta release them on YouTube, I'm begging, my playlist needs them!
We've literally been begging him since he made them to post them online lol but he's taking his time! >:(
Yeah, only Garbage Paradise is a parody, the rest are original tracks! Since it's a game jam, there were a couple issues I wanted to iron out in them before releasing them proper! I'm trying my best haha
Its out! https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_kLuGApoTAQV29bpCe4OXGpuDaUm69zKs0&si=V...
Thx! Are you also gonna upload the parody of Amish Paradise? Also, could you release the lyrics? I'm not native English speaking so I'm not catching it all.
The art style is so cozy! I really enjoyed zoning out and just tossing trash. Like others have said, unbelievable amount of polish over 5 days, my mind is blown. If I was being pedantic I would've asked for a progression system to make me more efficient at tossing trash over time. Nice job!
Zoning out?! You were meant to be thinking about the heinous crimes you had committed. I hereby sentence you to anoher 5 tonnes of litter picking!
Really glad you enjoyed it though, I've said it before but I didn't realize we were making a cozy gameuntil we had some playtests! Crazy how these things always seem to come together ☺️
How did you guys manage to pack this much polish, humor, and map depth into a short jam cycle?! The art style is gorgeous, the tools are fun to unlock, and the vibe is an amazing breath of fresh air amidst the stressful countdown entries. Amazing job, Rampart Games
I'm not sure how either tbh, everyone put so much work in for this Jam it was crazy how it all came together. We had a pretty strong vision from the get go to be fair, so we spent time making sure we had an end goal in mind, so we could just make sure the game was fun for the rest of it. I'm really lucky to be able to do this with these guys tbqh! I'm surrounded by talented people 😅
I absolutely love this game! Amazing work by everyone!
Thank you so much <3 super happy you had fun!
I absolutely love your music and map designs, and the little cat protagonist too. There are lots of clever design touches throughout—like using resources within the map to help you collect items. It’s such a cute and laid-back game. Finally, I have to marvel at just how complete it is—to create such an amazing game in just four days! Congratulations on pulling it off!
Thank you so much! <3 we're all really pleased people are engaging well with it, we put a lot of effort into making cleaning up trash something fun and kinda relaxing to do. We had a feeling lots of games would be quite fast paced and stressy, and we wanted to go the other way. As to how complete it is, we have our team lead to thank for that-plus the insane effort everyone put in, of course- but he just somehow knows what we're gonna have time for when we plan @_@
How did you make this game in 4 days this is insane!!
Glad you enjoyed it! We were heads down working on it diligently the whole time :)
Really fun to mess around in! The idea of using the trash as stepping stones to reach collectibles was a cool idea too. The audio was solid as well, the sound of getting trash compacted was pretty brutal. The controls did feel a bit floaty at times though, leading to many an accidental compacting of myself or sliding off platforms when going for collectibles. All round though, really solid game for such a short time.
Happy to hear you had fun! Very valid about the controls, I'm surprised they came out the way they did at all haha. TheKimeo very nearly had a melt down on the first day realising he didn't know how to do character controllers at all lmao and the platforms are probably my fault, I think the colliders allow you to hit the underside of them making it feel less smooth. Oops. Thanks for playing though!
I was really impressed by how polished the game looks, especially considering it was made during a game jam. The audio and music add a ton of charm, the gameplay feels great. I had a lot of fun and can't wait to come back to it after the jam!
