Such a cute game! I love how simple it seemed in the beginning then it became a challenge finding the correct window of opportunity to time my fireworks it was such a blast (pun intended). Also the art and story is so cute haha, great game! :D

The dog is so adorable.  And I liked your take on the theme

So cute and it's very satisfying synchronizing all the countdowns!

its so satisfying to hear all the fireworks in time with the music! :D

I like how the base gameplay mechanic is so versatile and can be extended with the different firework types and requirements. Also Doggo!

Very cute concept and quite original gameplay. I think this game starts out a bit annoying but once you get how to play it, it's really compelling and you have to spend a lot of time pre-planning as much as executing. (At its core this is a game about modular arithmetic which is pretty cool.) I like that it's secretly a turn-based game (I believe, when you set a firework, the timing is quantized to the second so as long as you press it while the timer says a certain value, it will go off at precisely the right time.)

What annoyed me at first was a) the very long pages of text at the start - that should be cut short (though the story between the levels was charming).

And b) that it was not obvious at first that the fireworks were going to be looping, so I thought I had to press it exactly 4/5 seconds before. (I realize upon re-reading that it says this in the tutorial, but there was just way too much text up front that I missed it, and I actually quit to menu and restarted to read the tutorial again and it didn't show up a second time.) Combining this with the 1-second movement lock made it really frustrating to play the first few levels.

But I enjoyed the rest of the game once I was counting up multiples of each number and trying to figure out my "schedule" for each level - first in my head then on paper once it got too complicated. Very nicely done. I loved the cute growing animation, and the Sydney countdown at the end.

PS. Hello :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for trying out our game! All very valid points, hopefully next jam we will leave enough time to play test more thoroughly to identify and iron out these sort of pain points. Sydney represent!

Super cute and a great use of the theme! getting all of the timings just right was a real challenge, especially once you had to start and stop and also set some off multiple times before the finale. Good headscratcher, very satisfying to finally get it right!

Incredible. Just incredible.

What charming little game, It took me a little bit to realise that the fireworks kept going off on the intervals i thought it was just a one and done countdown, but as soon as i worked it out - i had a blast!

gave this a pretty much perfect rating, one of the longer jam games that actually compelled me to beat it. My biggest complaint is a lack of a restart button, it got very annoying having to sit for the full 30 seconds even though I knew that I had failed just 10 seconds in. I really enjoyed this game, and it made me think a lot more than I was expecting to, so a huge well done to the team. This is probably my favourite game from the jam I've played so far!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words! We really appreciate it <3

It is actually possible to restart from the pause menu (escape on keyboard, start button on controllers)! Sorry that we never got around to making that more obvious for our players :( But either way, great job on beating the game!

Well fair enough then, that was my biggest problem with the game so EXTRA well done in that case 😅

Great job, guys! I really love how the game makes use of the countdown theme and how you have to adapt your strategy based on the type of firework you're using.

The art and sound design are both excellent and complement the overall gameplay experience really well.

Congratulations!

i love Blake’s very concerned expression in the left picture at the end, it’s so goofy. i also wasn’t expecting jacked doggo lol

anyway, very clever! lovely combo of puzzling/planning and timing/execution.

This was so cute!! The art and sounds are so cozy, and the firework timings had the perfect level of difficulty! I'm so glad we can help Pom in their quest to help their owner! Jack, I'm glad she said yes eventually, but man. You were rejected the first time. Let it go man. Amazing work!
