I adored the drawings! This game felt alive in its own unique way.
Delightfully satisfying and a blast to play, great submission!
This is actual something i can see myself play on my phone, I like the twist of it and the gameplay feels so smooth and satisfying once you card you put in Count up pile wins you the game. really good game!
I decided to first try to play without any tutorials or watching the video and I got hang of it quite after the first few quick tries. Great twist on the Solitaire!
The game ran so smoothly and felt so good to play that I played and beat all 3 bots. Amazing job that you were able to create this fully working bot within the time of a Game Jam!
Biggest thumbs up to the game feel, in addition to the Bot, you Polished the game to feel that cards moving around makes the game very fun to play.
Maybe the only improvement would be if the bot building also had some "Dopamine" in it with some sound or screen shaking as it calculates the win percentage.
But this was definately one of the most fun games I played during this Jam! Great work!
I didn't really fully read the menu until I played a couple classic games and I got so so hyped when I saw the bot building. I don't know how anyone has the time to implement something like that during the jam. I'm wasn't awake enough to make anything good with it, but just it being there makes me very happy. Also, I love the card designs, they're so whimsical!
Very addictive game! The artwork is very smooth, but the gameplay is really good!
really impressed by the scope of this game, solitaire AND a bot-building system in a jam?? that's wild ambition xd the frog art is soo cute, everything feels really polished, the card animations and sounds are super smooth too. took me a sec to notice the redraw button and figure out you can play the same card on the countup pile lol, but once it clicked i was hooked. racing the bots is such a fun idea, even though i think luck of the draw got me a couple times haha. honestly great work pulling all this off before the deadline, love it 🙌
Wow, what a complex game for a game jam! At first i thought this is just a solitaire game, but then came the whole bot building part!
I like the hand drawn art style a lot and had great fun playing it!
This actually is a great card game! You should think of making a real car game. The artworks of the cards is really funny too. Loved it! Also great take on the theme!
Congrats!
Fun game! It of course builds up on solitaire but the custom bot idea is unique. The frog art is really cute, good job!
Of course it doesn't, Solitaire isn't a game it's a genre! I made this game. I think I'm confusing people who have never played Solitaire style games before, sorry!
Yeah! Super fun! The 3 opponents' simulations seem to generate the same result.
Yeah, I realised something similar with my last minute testing. Once you make a good enough bot, which can be done with like 6 cards, it's really easy to beat all 3 bots with roughly the same stats. Probably good for the jam, since it makes it a lot easier. But I've already though of some better ideas which should be more fun and challenging, but it will require a bit of work.
I think you're the first person beside me to beat all the challenges. Thank you!
This game is so cute, I love the frogs, and I wish it had a frog-themed soundtrack! The gameplay reminds me of Frog on the Floor by 100 Gecs, a good froggy song. I've never raced someone in solitaire, and it was really fun for me! I actually found even the Beginner bot really challenging, but that may be a skill issue, lol
Really nice game! I appreciate how polished and smooth the UI and animations were -- I think those two things are essential to a card game, and you nailed it! It felt really polished all around.
I think you're right about the beginner bot. The bots are currently arranged by how long they play for on average and how likely they are to win. Which isn't super noticeable when playing them. Based on all the feedback, I already have a potential solution I've already partially tested a bit.
Easier bots will play slower on average, this makes it a lot more fair. I'll also make sure they are guaranteed to win so you don't get free victories if you're not fast enough. And lastly, I'll make sure each difficulty has a minimum amount of steps so that the bots don't randomly get a super lucky game. Master difficulty will be pretty much the same.
Thank you for your feedback and kind words!
It was good simplicity but I sometimes took a while in solo solitaire to get a run because I wouldnt get a 13 but still had fun (:
Sorry to tell you that it is a skill issue :(
Thank you for playing!
This was a lot of fun! I really liked the simple concept of this. Playing against a computer is an interesting choice as it seems pretty lucky on whether or not you will win. For instance, I beat one of the computers because they were blocked first not because I actually beat them to a finish. Overall I think this is really polished. The art and sounds work really well together and the theme is on point!
I already have a bunch of solutions to improve the bots, basically make them play at different speeds depending on the difficulty, make sure they always win to avoid easy victories, make sure they play a minimum amount of steps in the earlier difficulties.
The bot Vs bot mode is a already lot more fair, for the custom bot to win they need to win in fewer steps or lose in more steps. But I didn't think that was fun for players, so that's why the current player Vs bot mode is more of a flawed race.
Thank you for you feedback and kind words. Can't wait to try out your game later today, it looks awesome!
Edit: It was really cool, if anybody is reading this go and check it out.
It's fun card game, and the froggy artworks for the cards are cute!
It does take some time for me to learn though. For some reason the tutorial option doesn't play for me, but the rest of the bot battles and solo mode works just fine. Great job with the game!
I broke the tutorial with a last minute change before the deadline, and didn't realise until it was too late. I did make an emergency video tutorial because it's easier to see than to read, but I can't expect everyone to see it.
Thanks for playing!
Oh dang! I completely missed seeing the video and tutorial on the page and went straight to the game... sorry, my bad.
the music and artwork is great!
The game has a very nice "feel" to it. It plays really well. I wish there was a tutorial in the game to teach me how to play, but I picked up the concept fairly quickly. Had fun playing it! Would love to see more!
The game is so cute and bubbly and the noises are really satisfying.
I played Solitaire only once in my life - it was 14 years ago on an old computer with Windows XP and had 0 clue what I was supposed to do. This whoever, is a very awesome card game with a very cute artstyle. I would love to see a turn based splitscreen version!
Great job on your submission! I really liked the art style, the colors, and the overall polish of the game. The card animations are very smooth, and I really enjoyed the movement and feel of the gameplay.
I also really like this style of Solitaire game, it reminds me of the classic card games like Windows Solitaire. Congratulations on the work and the care you put into the game!
Nice and polished. Goob job.
