I liked the idea of a timer countdown affecting the game state, rather than being an immediate loss — like, instead of shutting down with a game over, you're introduced with a new complication. Needing to manually press the arrow keys every time instead of holding them down was also an interesting choice, I had some exciting moments where I was hammering right, trying to make it to the exit in time. Always good to have a player rethink the basics that we take for granted!
Cool entry. Jumped into it without realizing what was going on. Loved getting bamboozled as I was right next to the key when it moved. I thought it was a time to get out of the maze, so that was a fun twist again!
Visuals are amazing, and the theme interpretation is also creative, one thing I'd suggest is that it'd be better if you could move by holding the button as well, because my fingers got tired after pressing buttons too much, anyways finished the game, it was pretty enjoyable and if you add more variety of random changes, will be even more amazing, great job!
cool ! ı liked
Super cool! I like your cover art a lot and your game delivers on the gameplay. Very creative use of countdown and how it might change up a puzzle. I used the wasd and the arrow keys at the same time to mash myself where I was going but probably would have preferred a press and hold approach. I enjoyed it a lot and also really liked that ending sequence when I won. Good game, well done!
The idea is really good and I like how there's multiple takes on it across the levels, but I found the controls a bit annoying. Having to keep pressing the arrow/WASD buttons repeatedly gets pretty tiring since the mazes are rather big, it would have been a lot more comfortable if you could held them down.
I get your point! I've received a few other comments about the controls as well. Personally, I like the pressure of having to smash the keys to get through the levels before the timer runs out and the maze changes, so I intentionally designed the game around that movement style. That said, I completely understand that it won't be for everyone. Thanks for the feedback, and thanks for playing!
had a ton of fun!! I wish thered be a even harder version lol
Thank you for playing and congrats on beating the game! I would've loved to add an even harder mode if I had the time :')
Love the artwork and idea! Maybe it would be less tiring for the fingers if you allow moving continuously by holding down arrow keys.
I liked the idea of changing the map when the countdown goes to 0. It would be better if there wasn't all this keyboard smashing.
I love the CRT effect on the game. It makes it pop a lot! The lagging at the end of the last level was fun and made you want to escape as fast as possible. Great work!
When the maze changed for the first time I really thought i was tripping. Fun little Game!
The idea of changing the maze depending on the countdown is great to add some deepness to the game! Well done!
very clever way to use what i presume is procedural maze generation. cool concept and great use of the theme :)
Thank you for playing! The mazes are actually all hand-drawn, not procedural. Glad they felt varied enough to seem generated! :D
Great work!
Good visuals and a nice variety of mechanics!
really fun and creative levels, i feel that allowing us to longpress dash across long paths would make the game feel nicer but overall great game!
The art style is a highlight! Good job on it!
Nicely done with the CRT style
What maze algorithm did you use to make the mazes? Especially when you change the maze at the end of each countdown, I'm curious how that is decided. This was cool to play!
Thanks for playing! The mazes are actually all hand-drawn. When the layout changes, it's just three different tilemaps cycling on a loop :)
really clever! i only wish it was a tad easier so i could've made more progress, but really solid exevccution, great work!
That was really neat! You managed to add quite a lot of ways the level changes every countdown. I managed to beat a bit harder mode, my fingers hurt after clearing the last level :D
Congrats! I hope your fingers are feeling better now. At some point during playtesting I could feel my fingers going numb :D
