How does your game fit the theme?
A classic RPG, but everything is one number. Your HP, attack, gold, keys, and the enemy's health are all the same integer. Unlocking a door, shooting an arrow, or even hitting an enemy costs your health because your keys, ammo, and enemy health is also your max health. How can you kill Vei if it also means the death of you?

I love the graphic remind me of old game in 2Y2K!!
Absolutely charming art, aesthetics, music and mechanics. Well done!
Thanks so much! Really appreciate it. :D
Nice style, love the retro inspiration! well polished and interesting game mechanics
Really appreciate it! Yeah, it was a lot of fun to dip into something retro, but it ended up being a great choice for the idea.
Very very polished game and art style. Feels like a broken game boy the way most broken game boy games are - you can still play around it! Excellent job
Thanks so much! Yeah, I thought it was a fun challenge to make an old broken game still feel polished and modern. A lot of choices were around how "broken" it should feel while still being true to how the "original" game would play.
I like this little world you made. Good polish on the mechanics too.
Thanks! A lot of it was actually pulled from a D&D campaign, so it's like a little slice of another story I may want to flesh out in a longer game one day.
I had a lot of fun, very creative take on countdown. I think I hit a soft lock when I entered the Y-shaped crossroad in the non-corrupted version of the game. Still haven’t finished it but the story seems very interesting. great game, well done.
Thanks so much! Surprised you hit a softlock, thanks for letting me know. I know that in testing it was possible to break the game by getting to a room without corruption or keys, but then I thought I plugged them up. Ah well, glad it was a good time foryou!
I had a lot of fun! It's a really interesting and unique mechanic. Really well done!
Thanks so much! I appreciate it. :D Loved yours as well
super fun idea! the gameplay loop is so satisfying.
Thanks! High praise because I was very addicted to the gameplay loop on your game. :D I was worried going into this jam that the replayability on mine was tough because it wasn't always clear what items would do, but a few items were actually quite fun in practice.
Very creative idea to have everything use the same resource. Sometimes I bumped to an enemy immediately when i enter a room which was a bummer. I liked the story of the game too, one think I couldn't find was a volume control, that would've been nice.
Thanks so much!
I thought I put enemies far enough away, so sorry for the issues with the bumping. Very glad you enjoyed the story, though, that one was Sunday's polishing round.
Volume control was on my "Nice to have" list that I couldn't get around to implementing in time. Thanks for the feedback, I'll make sure it's in future games.
Probably the most creative idea I've seen so far. The retro rpg thing is really cool, and the glitch mechanic makes for a really strong narrative up until the end. I had so much fun I played it all the way through! Keep up the good work!
Wow, that's awesome praise! Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed it and got through. :D
This was a lot of fun. I liked the retro graphics and even enjoyed the narrative. Great interpretation of the theme.
Thanks so much! Yeah, the graphics were one of my first ideas
because I am not good at art or 3dand I like the idea of trying to find alternative interpretations of the theme. Appreciate it!Really cool theme interpretation! I like how how you showed corruption, e.g., by making consumable numbers the same. The art style is great too!
Thanks! I appreciate it because I went through several iterations finding the best way to represent something that's kind of confusing at first.
PS: Went through a small deep dive on some of your games, so now I take your praise of the highest esteem. xD Love your work!
So cool! I love it!
Appreciate it! :D
Very nice, you managed to create an engaging and full slice of a game here. The glitch mechanic had a couple good interactions and the end played nicely into it. Well done!
Thanks so much! So glad you made it to the end. I'm curious how many people get that far and get the true ending.
i had a lot of fun playing even tho i didn't understand at first but reading the description to th end helped a lot
also VAMP DAGGER SUPREMACY !!!!!
Yeah, trying to get the concept clear was the biggest struggle for me. I wrote the game and still found myself getting in a flow and trying to stab enemies to death. Making that concept clear initially without spoiling the story is tough to put into a few minutes-long game.
Vamp Dagger was probably my favorite. Overflow kills are so satisfying and you get to zip around the map after using it. FOUNTAIN is also an amusing strategy.
Thanks for playing! :D
I love it so much! Very mysterious and unsettling, reminds me of the wonder of discovering missingno as a kid in Pokemon :) Will definitely be coming back to play more
Really appreciate the kind words! I was actually inspired on the theme thinking about things like the Pokemon Black Version and Ben Drowned. The idea of turning the genre a bit upside down was fun to try.
Your game is awesome, by the way. Was going to play it before this comment and ended up just playing it until I had to leave for lunch. xD
Ha, I killed myself! Didn't realise the shared resources, felt real silly after reading the "how does your game fit the theme"
Thanks for playing! Yeah, trying to make the gimmick clear without explaining it straight up in the game was something I struggled with communicating. But it's a concept I'm really happy with, especially some of the broken item combos that offset it.
Loved your game as well. :D
Hope everyone enjoys the game! My last few minutes debugging were spent trying to feed a two-month old baby, but I'm very pleased with how polished the game feels during my testing. Thanks to my wonderful wife for pitching in and making the thumbnail! Enjoy!
