How does your game fit the theme?
The entire game revolves around a 20-second countdown. Your lantern only stays lit for 20 seconds before going out, forcing you to constantly manage your limited light by finding candles and wax while exploring the haunted mansion. Every second counts, making the countdown the core of both the gameplay and the tension.

The keys sometimes were hard to pick up, but other than that very solid game! I liked the opening comic panels as well.
Thank you so much! 💜 We’re really glad you enjoyed it.
And thanks for pointing out the key pickup issue too! We’ll definitely look into that. Happy to hear you liked the opening comic panels as well. 😊
I've been playing for a while now, and I'm really enjoying it. Great job to the developers! 👏
Thank you so much! 💜 We’re really happy to hear you’re enjoying it. Thanks for taking the time to play, and we hope you had fun exploring the mansion! 😊
Wow, the art was so cool in this one, good job to the team!! I like this exploration games where you have to find objects to progress and remember the way you came.
I found a bug tho: every time I interacted with a staircase the character would just start going up and down and it was a bit annoying to have to time it correctly to change floor. That's the only criticism I have tho! good job :)
Nice art style. The horror of the light slowly fading, the noise increasing and the panic of quickly relighting works really well. The vibes are spot on.
I did find the key / box hunting tedious, especially with (as others have pointed out) the down stairs looking like they're going up, made it very hard to get my head around the space. Ironically, the guy is holding a map (or fragments of it) but I can't see said map. (It would be great if it slowly revealed an actual map image on screen so the more you progress, the less lost you feel.)
I think the total fail state is a problem. It's one thing to be terrified of the candle running out and panicking to relight it. But having to start the entire game over turns panic/tension into tedium. I played it to opening the chest, and then could not find the exit (why wasn't the exit in the same room he started in?), and I don't want to play it all over again.
Great work though, on the setup and vibes of the game.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such detailed feedback! 💜
We’re really happy you enjoyed the atmosphere, lighting and tension. About the map, it’s actually available in the UI at the bottom, showing your progress as you collect the fragments, but we understand it could have been clearer.
The stairs are a totally fair point too 😅 That was a last-minute thing we missed during the jam, but we’ll definitely keep it in mind for future updates.
Thanks again for playing and sharing your thoughts with us!
> About the map, it’s actually available in the UI at the bottom, showing your progress as you collect the fragments, but we understand it could have been clearer.
I saw that it was showing that I had collected fragments 1, 2, 3. What I meant was (unless I missed something) it should have been showing an actual map of the house, to make navigation easier, but the map is initially missing and 1/3 of the house is added each time I find a piece. I get that part of the tension should be being lost and not knowing where things are or how to find your way back, but maybe it's OK to alleviate some tension as I progress through the game, so I feel the house becoming more familiar (and it would make sense given that I am literally collecting pieces of a map of the house).
Very great game! It was fun to play, and the horror aspect of the game is executed very well. I like that the paintings turn into scary versions when the time is close to running out. The art is good, and the game feels polished considering the time constraints of the jam. I enjoyed it and it took me a few tries to find the treasure and escape :D
Thank you so much! 💜 We’re really happy you enjoyed the horror atmosphere and the little details like the paintings changing when the light gets low.
It means a lot to hear that the game felt polished, especially with the time we had during the jam. Thanks for playing and for taking the time to escape the mansion!
Hi! I’m not really good with unsettling horror and stuff so the game felt really difficult for me… I have a pretty strong fear of the dark… The game’s art was really good! It was a little tedious to need to go find the specific key for each specific chest. Also, the up-stairs and the down-stairs went in the same direction… That sound effect when you’re gonna die is really freaky and a little grating tbh The art and animation is really good (beyond the aforementioned unreadable stairs) Even though I don’t like horror, I can’t judge it based on that… because yeah, it was unsettling. Definitely a success in the vibes department. Whatever that means LOL
Thank you so much for giving it a try, especially if horror isn’t usually your thing 😭💜
We’re really happy the atmosphere worked, even if it was a bit too effective 😅 And thanks for pointing out the stairs and the warning sound. We were under a lot of pressure during the final hours of the jam, so a few polish issues slipped through. We really appreciate the feedback, and thanks again for playing!
Yeah! Jams are typically not expected to be super polished so those issues even though they were problems didn’t significantly hinder the game I’d say
The ambience and the art both are really neat ! I've got a few nitpicks though!
- The stairs that go down have the same graphics as the stairs that go up? That feels pretty unintuitive to me to be completely honest x)
- The sound that plays when only 10 seconds remain before the lantern's fuel runs out is ANNOYING in it's current state !
It plays very early, lasts for a ton of time and doesn't stop immediately when i pick up fuel !
I feel as if the tension it gives would be greatly enhanced if it played closer to the end of the timer (~5-7 seconds left) and if the sound stopped when picking up more fuel ! (since the stress of it running out isn't a problem anymore when i pick up said fuel)
- After picking up the 3 map fragments, the zoom to the basement left me slightly confused as to where to exactly go to reach it, i managed to find the door by walking around but i don't think there were any indicators of it suddenly appearing right after the fragments were picked up? (i guess the cutscene IMPLIED something changed but it wasn't really clear to me)
Apart from those nitpicks i listed i liked it ! Spooky games are nice ^v^
Everyone who worked on that game, good work !
Thank you for taking the time to write all of this! We really appreciate the detailed feedback. 💜
Those are all fair points. We were racing against the deadline, so some of those polish issues slipped through. We’re really glad you enjoyed the atmosphere overall, and we’ll definitely keep your notes in mind if we continue working on the game after the jam. Thanks for playing!
Really well done art, music and environments. The interpretation of the theme is well done, I don't think i have any feedback. I like how the characters animations changes when it gets dark. Very nice entry.
Thank you so much! We’re really happy you enjoyed it. It means a lot that you noticed the atmosphere and the animation changes in the dark, since we spent quite a bit of time on those details. Thanks for playing and for the kind words! 💜
I really loved your art, specifically the character design, I loved the old school feeling of a point and click mystery, one of my favorite genres, played a lot of lucasarts, doublefine growing up. There was a bug with a chest saying "wrong key" but then letting me open it anyway? So assuming I had the right key? Really impressive work art wise, with the time we had, great job, I'm proud of you! Keep making stuff!
Thank you so much, RayMag! 💜 It really means a lot to hear that, especially from someone who enjoys classic point-and-click games.
We put a lot of effort into the characters and the atmosphere, so we’re really happy you noticed those details. The chest message bug is a good catch, thanks for pointing it out!
Thanks again for playing and for the kind words 🥰
AWSOME :D
The lantern mechanic really keep me on the toes, and the atmosphere really enhance the horror element of the game. The artwork looks really nice and the music really fits the game. Well done!
Thank you so much! 💜 We’re really happy the lantern mechanic and atmosphere created the tension we were aiming for.
Thanks for playing and for the kind words! 😊
Super creepy! I was hoping for some more puzzle elements, but having the resource management of the lantern was a great addition and the atmosphere worked really well. The artwork was wonderful! Great entry!
Thank you so much! 💜 We’re really glad you enjoyed the lantern mechanic and atmosphere.
We agree that adding more puzzle elements would have been interesting, and we’ll keep that in mind for future improvements. Thanks for playing! 😊
the game is well made and keeps you on toes. The loss of light and countdown adds to the scary atmosphere. It’s challenging and sometimes even nerve racking. I loved it. Great job.
Thank you so much! 💜 We’re really happy the countdown and lantern mechanic created the tension we were aiming for.
Thanks for playing and for the kind words! 😊
The sound effects complement the visuals perfectly, and combined with such ingenious design, I absolutely love it. Thank you for all your hard work!! Congratulations!
Thank you so much! 😊 We’re really happy the sound design and visuals worked well together. Thanks for playing and for the kind words! 💜
The lantern mechanic definitively adds pressure, but the audio is really what made me feel nervous ! Great job !
Thank you so much! 💜 We spent a lot of time on the audio, so we’re really happy it had that effect. 🥰
Woww definitely coool artwork i love the theme so much good job!
Feel free to test our game ✨
Thank you so much!! 💜 We’re really glad you liked the artwork and the theme.
We’ll definitely check your game out too. Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a kind comment! 🥰💜
HOLY ART INTRO amazing stuff!! I was instantly drawn in, and even though I'm not usually interested in these sorts of games the presence of refill stations on the floors kept me happy. Really great use of the countdown theme, fantastic work!
Thank you so much! 💜 We’re really glad you liked the intro.
The refill stations were something we added early on because we wanted the countdown to feel tense without being too punishing, so it’s nice to hear they worked for you.
Thanks for playing 🥰💜
Amazing work on your interpretation of the theme. The candle also added to the overall theme and atmosphere of the game, so it’s well incorporated and adds to the tension you’re setting up.
Congratulations on finishing the jam!
Thanks so much 💜😭
Love hearing that the lantern mechanic felt meaningful. GG and congrats on finishing the jam! ✨
Very interesting! I'm not typically a fan of horror, but it was cool to see how you used the candle mechanic to make the countdown count. Great game!
Haha that’s awesome to hear 😭💜
Glad the lantern mechanic made the countdown feel fun. Thanks a lot for playing! ✨
Cool game! I liked the ambiance and tension it makes you feel while playing.
Thanks a lot! 💜
Really happy the atmosphere landed the way we hoped 😭 Thanks for giving it a shot, and good luck with your game! ✨
