I'm amazed you were able to create something so polished in such a short time! I really love the character design! :) Great work!
Crazy good visuals- they're so awesome!
Had a bit of trouble figuring out how to "solve" the murder + progressing past asking everyone things, then asking about each item. Still a really fun time regardless :D
Really cute game with awesome art! I didn't get too far into it, but that's not your fault, its just that this kind of game isn't so much my cup of tea. I liked what I saw, though!
Loved the art in this game, but had no idea how to assemble the detective board. I thought the way it worked was I would accuse someone, then if I didn't get it right one more would be murdered. I tried every possible explanation I could think of on the board and nothing happened. Do you need to press a confirm button or something?
No, once the accusation is right it takes you to another screen, maybe some kind of visual could improve it.
I'm glad you played the game and liked it, thanks for the feedback :)
What an absolutely delightful and adorable game! I had some issues with the UI (textbox being small, it being a little annoying to click in and out of menus), and it would have been great if the music had looped instead of ending, but I really enjoyed my time with it. Art, music, and SFX were phenomenal, and I thought the complexity was just right for a jam game. I'd love to see an expanded game, or more similar projects from y'all in the future!
One question: what software did you use to animate the characters?
Thank you so so much for the kind words! I'm glad you appreciated the art, I loved yours too 😭❤️
The software I used to animate the characters is Moho, it's rigging based with frame by frame integration, pretty cool stuff! :) ❤️
Awesome, I'll check Moho out! :)
A little detective game is always fun, and the length was perfect for a jam entry. The narration is pretty witty too!
I don't want to spoil it in the comments, but I did found myself a bit disappointed by the solution, I had another theory in mind which made a lot of sense compared to all the clues we've got.
One small nitpick : the textbox is a bit small, it forces the player to put more effort into reading the text.
But I had a good time and was invested until the end, great job!
i really like the art here i can tell you spent a lot of time on it which is amazing!! the clues felt a little direct, and having a clearer way to confirm your deduction and accuse a suspect would make solving the mystery even more satisfying, but tbf it was made in 4 days overall very very good!!
Neat little mystery game! Love the comic and art opening!
Amazing art and really fun little mystery! It seems like maybe the "clock countdown" didn't make it in, but I think that would be a great addition if you keep working on it :D
Both the animations and artwork are super impressive, and the well-designed interface really makes the game more immersive! For a detective story clues are pretty direct tho, which helps lock down the suspect pretty quickly. But it's just enjoyable watching characters talk while wiggling their heads around. Btw the evidence just got completely eaten totally caught me off guard lol.
Coming from you this is such a compliment wow, I really enjoyed your game! :)
I'm glad you liked the jokes haha, and yes it is pretty direct, being a jam game we wanted to do more things but the deadline was close and it was better to cut most of them rather than doing a poor job :'D
Incredible visual style! I absolutely loved the smoothness of the animations and the effect that the characters overlap the UI elements. It looks very interesting
Like others have said the game definitely needs a proper way to accuse someone. Couldn't get past the first case, so I ended up putting random things in random places to see if I could brute force it. I could not
Very cute little game! I think that having a way to "confirm" our current supposition and accusing someone would be great, because right now you can just swap all the proofs until you find the right combination.
But it's a great game for a 4 day gamejam!
Absolute masterpiece! Feeling like a detective after playing this. Thanks for making such an incredible entry! Just played your game and wow... pure cinema! 🎬 Loved the story and the whole detective vibe. You did an amazing job with this!
Very good art and story, its so good!
Games art looks really good, also liked the writing. Sadly didn't manage to solve the case as I wasn't sure how you were able to actually accuse anybody.
holy s*** this game is legit! i love it so much!!! the graphics is fantastic! music is extremely atmospheric and narrative is engaging! my god!
has to be my favorite game this jam!!
Thank you so much this is such a huge compliment, made my day! I loved your game too it's nice to see that i could exchange the fun ❤️ :)
thank you so much! i am also happy that we got the opportunity to be part of this game jam! 😁
the game is just so beautiful
SO GOOD! I've never played a detective / mystery game before, but this has been a great intro. Incredible artwork, great writing, and overall a very polished experience :)
What an excellent game, even though I can totally feel that it was supposed to go on longer (I have a feeling it was the vampire all along). Still a great submission with some lovely art and sound and a cute narrative. I love Crumb so much.
