What a cool and underrated game; the only complaint is that you should set the doge button to be the right shift key. GREAT ENTRY !!

Super fun game, could of gladly played longer! Super cool idea for a game, I'm surprised I haven't seen something like this before as it's a simple but really fun idea. The enemies are all well made, I like the different types, pretty cool how one of them seems to shoot to where you plan to go, definitely caught me the most, and the healer was a cool idea too! The visuals are really nice too, the blood splatter effect is so cool, and all the pixel art is very nicely done, very cool effect on the wisp-y trail at the bottom of the player, of course screen shake is very nice too. I really liked how if you missed a throw the heart would just travel to the complete other side of the screen forcing you to charge towards it leading to some pretty funny and risky situations. This is just a very fun game, great work!
Really loved this! The visuals, mechanics and difficulty level were really nice and fit the theme super well! I'll probably come back to play this again, great work! :)
not my type of gameplay usually but it was so satisfying, the concept itself is really nice, I love the fact that you need to grab the heart, it’s a crazy banger and it makes me want to lean more into your other projects!
This game is so much fun. I really appreciate the game feel overall, shooting feels good, dashing through attacks feels good, and in particular I just really enjoy when the heart ricochets off walls, haha. I actually don't have much to offer in the way of critiques, aside from maybe having tankier enemies flash when getting hit for visual clarity (I thought they were deflecting my shots at first). That, and I want more stages post-jam! Great work!!
That was really fun, and really well polished (except for the tutorial bug)!
:)
I really like how the tougher enemies (that take 2+ hits) bounce the heart back to you.
That seemed like a fair thing to help balance the mechanic of chasing the heart.
Similar to how touching enemies doesn't damage you.
That's nice because you have to get up close to get the heart back.
Well done.
Only thing that bothered me was that the heart would fly off in a direction I didn't expect if I tried to shoot while moving.
I suspect there's something funny with the vector addition, or something; but, otherwise the controls were super smooth - enough that I just developed a habit of pausing very briefly before firing (a split second was enough for the shot to match my intuition again).
I struggled the overcome level 3, but I got there in the end!

Throwing the heart and killing enemies with it is so satisfying! Love the core mechanic, art, and sfx! Well done!
The core mechanic is so creative. It adds a lot of urgency to the game. I especially love that it bounces off enemies. I love throwing it, catching it right as it bounces, and then throwing it again. Feels so slick.
Not sure if this is intended, but I noticed that if I hug the wall and throw the heart along the wall, it immediately stops. I guess because the heart stops if it hits the wall at all. I feel like the heart should be able to be thrown in that way since its not necessarily hitting it but sliding along it. Up to you tho!
Amazing work, definitely one of my favorites for this jam.
Damn this is awesome! Really love the core mechanic. Yet another banger from mr squishy!
10/10 game feel. you got splash effects, screen shake, SFX, it looks and feels great!
Also, enemy variation, very creative use of the theme. Honestly this is a top 3 for me so far this jam.
Great job!
It's got great gamefeel, very punchy. Overall nice idea and fun game.
Simple yet so satisfying. Love the heart mechanic thematically and the extra complexity it brings to the bullet hell. Agreed with the last comment, the ability to multi-kill with the heart would slap. But the game is already a banger without it. Nice job!
yet another banger from the same creators of bend-jo. Really solid gameplay, the game gets hard but its never unfair. I wish I could hit multiple enemies per throw and bounce the heart around the walls more, but those are really just nitpicks, great job!
Got a couple of ideas for the post jam version, thinking maybe you can throw the heart without charging up to do a normal attack then if you charge up you get a piercing throw. Also really liking the idea of a combo system if you bounce the heart and catch it before the first beat. Seems like there's a lot of potential I'm excited to explore. Thanks so much for the feedback and for playing!
The armoured enemies on round three were quite hard. But i had a fun time playing! The controls were very smooth :)
pretty fun! picking up the heart and chucking it really feels like throwing weapons in superhot. i wish that there was slightly more reason to let the heart get close to ticking down, felt fairly trivial to just pick it up every time, maybe it would've been nice to have multiple projectiles all with their own timers you have to keep in check? and the charge mechanic felt a liiittle under baked, there's no reason to not just instantly charge the heart the moment you get it and just hold it while you aim. these things said, i had a lot of fun with this, i'm really not a big twin stick shooter fan and yet i did genuinely have quite a good time, the waves were well paced and dynamic feeling and wave 3 in particular was pretty intense in a really good way! great work all in all
Super cool idea! And very well polished especially in such a short time! I think you should try to develop this further after the event :D
