I really like the idea, adds a layer of strategy and push-and-pull to the gameplay, although I would have liked the timers to be quicker to make the game more fast paced. The character designs are all really solid and the bosses' attack patterns all suit their characters well, and I liked the gimmick of the frog boss tethering you and dragging you with her. Would love to see a more developed version of this game.

How does your game fit the theme?
It is a turn-based bullet hell where Your Turn is handed over to the opponent after your time counts down!

I gave it a couple of runs and it was quite engaging! The bosses definitely take some time to get used to and learn their patters, but I really liked the concept! Sad that there's no music, it would've really benefited from that, but the artstyle was quite cute as well!
Definitely would play again if the game gets an update!! Long live the Jamily!
Really cool idea! Surprisingly complex. Great execution. Would have liked a bit of background music <3
This is a crazy awesome concept! Reminds me an awful lot of Your Only Move Is Hustle, which is my favourite fighting game.. well.. ever, so it's awesome to see a turn-based bullet hell shooter, it makes all feel a lot more cerebral and deliberate than the usual panic of the genre (though don't get me wrong, I still had plenty of panic!)
Lovely illustrations and FX, understand the crunch meant soundtracks weren't able to be put in, but nothing playing the AoT theme on Spotify didn't fix!
Excellent idea and execution.
I didn't get it at first but when I understood, I really liked the idea. Somehow, you made the theme work perfectly for bullethells. On the 3rd boss tho, the big circles that count down don't indicate where the bullets are gonna shoot and I think that's needed for the concept to really work. Also, so much content!
Played at https://twitch.tv/hedge_in @ 1:20:12 . Yoooo this reminded of Arco a lot in terms of turn based game design!! Very dope.
Cool game! Love the concept. I do wish there was music or a ticking clock sound in the background. You should expand this more in the future! Nice work!
Quite a cool game! I'm not great at bullet hell games but I do like them, and this one has a lot of cool fights! The turn based style is quite interesting and I think in the later 5 bosses the turn based aspect is pulled of pretty well! The earlier bosses are nice for a tutorial but once you know how to do them it just becomes boring, since you can't really deal more damage or play better once you understand what to do. I didn't end up completing the game as the spider boss was really hard for me lol, but I think I experienced most fights. The character sprites are very nice, and the attack indicators are well made too! Overall quite a fun game! A bit hard but still very fun, great work!
LemonRat got all the feedback right!
Was gonna say that the feedback and game feel needs some love, but it's hard to do in a Jam where you set your self 3 damn classes to play with! and a lot of stages and enemies.
Aside from those concepts that need polishing the game strays from the bullet hell to a bullet... purgatory?
Very fun game.
Overall pretty fun game, it is a bit slow though. The fights are pretty fun, but definitely harder than advertised, I died on the 5th boss. I have only tried 1 character currently but it feels good, the kit does have a decent amount of variety and encourages you to line up the shot.
But let's get to the more pressing feedback. The idea is good but the execution leaves some to be desired. It feels slow not necessary from a long timer, but from a lack of game juice, like, some variance or pitching of the sfx, a simple backing track, particle effects or something like that. Personally think this isn't a case of over-scoping, you just placed a lot of priority into the wrong thing. You are thinking that making 10 bosses and 3 classes would be impressive, and I agree, it is. But the focus once you got enough content shouldn't be to make more content, but to make the existing content feels good. It's like a very deep pond, but the water is murky so you don't see what's underneath. If you had cut the content by half and use that time to make the game more appealing, this would have been a much much better game. When a player beat a boss, you should make them think "That was so cool, I want another one". This just makes me feel like that was neat and leave, never actually seeing the last bosses. I hope you don't take this the wrong way, the game is great for what it is, but I just feel like this is so much wasted potential.
Anyway, good job nonetheless on finishing the game. I'll leave a high score for ya. Hope you can improve it in the future.
Ay thanks for taking the time to give feedback! No worries, all feedback is good feedback! I love getting deep cutting feedback no offence taken. Anyways yeah very good points and definitely was part of a priority problem too, couldve definitely planned better and cut more content from the game(especially when i got sick halfway through the jam lmao totally shouldve decided to cut some then). Though i guess i was more so blindsided from the fact i wanted to try learning how to make more things in 2d rather than making a game game lmao, kinda lost the plot halfway through and ended up having more fun being a learning experience, which was still nice too learned a bunch of stuff! But oh well, feedback continues to pile on each jam so hopefully the next jam i do is better than the last!
Sick game! I'm one of the few people who died alot on the first fight, as it was unclear how it worked exactly, hard to explain the exact reason, I thought the arrow showed where the attacks are coming from but sometimes I saw the arrow and the attack not match, which I believe is because when the attack is actually happening the attack for the next round is also previewed.. either way when I figured it out I genuinely had alot of fun with the fights, the 4th attack I couldn't entirely figure out, perhaps it's a dodge of some kind? but great variety and awesome fights, great work!
sidenote: woah this game is loaded with screenshots
Thanks for checking the game out! Yeah visual clarity maybe coulda been better and for the fourth boss you gotta get out of the normal circle but also stay within the special numbered ring circle. And yeah bunch of gifs in the game page lmao cause i know people aint sticking around for the later bosses :p
