holy frog CONGRATULATIONS FOR #19 creativity in a jam with 10.5k entries (also again, really smooth experience for me and i loved it)

Developer

Yes, thank you again!

I want to like this. The idea is very creative and has potential, but the mechanics are just not clicking for me. Even with hints, I only managed to solve a few, and really only by brute forcing options. I can see the intention behind some levels, but only in hindsight. Reminds me of nonsensical inventory puzzles in old point-and-click games.

Developer

Thanks for the honest review!

Wow this is a mind-bender, some really clever puzzles here. Moving around the text is a little inconvenient, I wish you were able to drag them around instead of having to open the dropdown menu everytime. Very inventive!

Developer

Ah, nice idea. I’m new to making these UI sort of things but that would be a good option.

incredibly creative, i've critiqued a lot of games but honestly i can't think of much to offer this idea because there's a whole lot of potential. some of the levels were very challenging and i can't imagine doing some without hints, there could be a better introduction to some concepts but for a jam game this is great

Submitted(+2)

To be honest, if it wasn't for the hints, i don't think i would've finished this game. I think it's missing a clear introduction to the main mechanics, a way to show the player in which direction they should be thinking to solve the puzzles.

Regardless, i quite enjoyed it! Every single puzzle, when i found the way to solve it, made me go "ooooh that's so clever! :0". Amasing usage of words, numbers and lists, very unique! :]

Developer(+1)

Yeah, good point, I think I need to make a better tutorial, perhaps by highlighting specific buttons to press to solve the puzzles. Maybe I could incorporate the hints directly in the game too. Thank you for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Intensely dense, but a really high quality idea, I wish I could wrap my head around easier, might benefit from a full release after the jam with a though tutorial. Keep making games, your brain works different.

I loved the use of list numbering! Some of the puzzles were a bit hard for me(I don't speak English,) but hints helped me a lot!

Really unique take on the theme. I didn't play this one for long, but it was very fun and different from a lot of the other games.

nice set of puzzles, still dont get number 9 tho

spoilerYou're looking for a suffix that converts a verb into the past tense, and there's a specific way that suffixes are written.

Aha!!! Thank you

Cool game!!! I liked your interpretation of the theme and enjoyed working through the puzzles. nice job

Super unique and creative entry! I genuinely had no idea what the 'expand list' even did, I just clicked random stuff until i found a pattern and i was like OHHH and now i think my brain has expanded and now it hurts. 5/5 enjoyment and creativity!

Pure creativity and really fun puzzles! Amazing game!

Many thanks!

Genuinely one of, if not, the most creative game in this jam that I've come across. Played with a whole grin on my face!!! Like a previous comment said, love at first sight!!! I got stuck on some of the puzzles but solely because I straight up did not know the words, but they've now been added to my vocabulary!

Developer

Thank you very much! Yeah, some of the words were tricky (and of course the puzzles were too), namely the one in Caesarean II, but I’m glad you still liked it!

Submitted(+1)

A very creative take on the theme! It was satisfying when I finally realized that I have to work with the "autocomplete" feature of the list to solve the puzzles. It makes so much more sense in hindsight, but the first puzzle didn't quite click for me. chess battle advanced

Developer

Ha, yeah, I could have made that more clear. Glad it was satisfying!

Submitted

Very confusing but I like the potential!

Submitted(+1)

Is this... love at first sight??? :o

Developer

what do you mean?

Submitted(+1)

i ADORE your game

Developer(+1)

Aw, thank you very much!

Submitted(+2)

RIGHT??? IT'S INSANE HOW IT CLICKED WITH ME

I am instantly thinking about programming version of this game!  I also used lot of hints, very nice creative project.

Developer

Thank you! It was interesting trying to implement the UI elements with CSS and JavaScript, and I learned a lot about CSS in the process. I’m sure it would be interesting for you too!

Submitted

haha what I meant is instead of connecting words, connecitng programming sentences :D
if you cehck up my games for this nad SKG game jams you will quite see I know how to make UI ;)

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Ahh, I see now!

Submitted(+1)

Wow, what a fun game! I got super lost into this game, I had a ton of fun trying to figure out the word puzzles. I think level 3 was my favorite because it was such a “oh shit I can do that!?” moment. Thank you for providing the hints too, I had a tough time with the later levels.

Developer

A “tunnow” fun, you could say :) Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

this was a really cool idea! i wasn't quite able to figure out how to play it though, so i was mostly just messing around with the controls :>
