Actually quite fun! The different gameplay styles really make it enjoyable throughout!
I got a fish shaped sheep 🐑
Very enjoyable, especially for a first game ;D, Great job!
I loved the variety of gameplay and how well everything was implemented!
I hope to see an update with more nights in the future
Great job for your girst game. I did like the jumping but do wish there was some kind of meter or something to help me know how long to hold down for the jumps. Jumping onto the words was a nice little touch too.
Thanks for playing the game! I have implemented a subtle visual feedback for when the player is charging a jump; it will be included in the post-jam version.
As a first game, this was good! I do have to say, there could've been more things added to this that I wish were implemented, like maybe a meter on how far the jump would be, or what mini game will happen in this night or anything to compliment the game. Nonetheless, this was a pretty good first game, so good job! enjoyed this!
the first part and the second part felt to me like two very different, pleasant games.
and the cool thing is I see potential in both, on how someone could make them even more fun. I almost wonder whether I would've enjoyed more time spent on introducing more interesting challenges in one single game? not sure! but in either case, I think it is really cool of you to dip your toes into two different games, yee! which part did you like more?
Thanks for playing! The jumping minigame is very solid IMO, probably even worth reusing as another commenter pointed out. The counting sheep part is rather shallow in terms of gameplay, and I'm trying to make up for it by adding more sheep variants so it's at least interesting to look at. A third scene is already in the making, and it's going to be a minesweeper. :D
The motivation for having various minigames is to both keep the game fresh and simulate the feeling that insomnia can hit differently each night, especially when you're trying different methods to fall asleep.
Today this was the last game I played before bed, and it helped me wind down! Liked the different blocks in the first part, and intensely enjoyed counting sheep. Sorry that the main character started off smiling but just kept getting grumpier over the course of the game!
Sorry for the late reply, but I'm happy to hear it helped you wind down and wish you another night's good sleep!
I have at least four scenes planned for this game, and starting from the 3rd scene it starts taking on a grim, almost psychological horror aspect as persistent insomnia gnaws at the main character's sanity. Probably for the better that I only got to release two scenes so it doesn't feel so unhinged for the purposes of this jam haha.
Really fun little game! I enjoyed the mechanics a lot - the art was also very charming! :D
That’s a pretty good first game. I like it.
Congratulations on your first game! It's great, it's great that you took the main picture from the jam page, I also had that intention. I liked controlling the mouse, no game has had such mechanics yet,
Cute game, I liked the first part more, I think you could have done the whole game like that, just maybe add a few mechanics to make it more challenging and interesting. Nice job!
fun and charming, especially for a first game! it seems like you've already got a good grasp on creating an endearing tone through gameplay elements. it's the simple things like the platforms becoming words or the sheep counter increasing comically fast that make games like this memorable.
Love it! nice, short and fun! Not bad for a first game eh. Keep up the good work :D
The concept is interesting!
I just think if there had a visual indicator in the first minigame of the jump force, it would be better
The transitions are fire btw
Thanks for the feedback!
I originally planned to add an audio indicator with increasing pitch as the mouse is held, but couldn't figure out the technical stuff. Could have gone for some kind of particle effect now that I think of it.
I really enjoyed this game! Sure, there are some things that could be improved and fixed, but the mini-games are pretty fun and short enough not to get boring. Great job!
Expected a point and click, got Mario party instead!
Really captures when you're trying to fall asleep but you start thinking too much!
Sweet little game!
Really fun game! I enjoyed the timing for platforming a bunch and it was fun having the different mini games!
Really cute game, and while small, feels incredibly polished. I like the minigames (although the sheep kept getting away from me) and the theming of helping someone sleep was very cute. I wish there was a bit more to do!
This didn't affect my rating of you at all, but when I make it fullscreen there are technically two other colors on the top and the bottom. Didn't meaningful effect my experience and I basically ignored it, but thought I should let you know. Congrats on your first game!
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such detailed feedback!
There's a bit of color banding in the background, right? No joke, but I actually thought it was an optical illusion :P Enabling dithering on the camera appears to have fixed it. Many thanks for pointing it out!
Really nice game
