Awesome use of the sound effects! Cool art too, loved the moon and bat

I remember seeing that bat in the discord server :]

This is such a unique and fun idea, i absolutely love the heartbeat sound leading to the window! I had a little bit of trouble with controls, they were a bit hard to get used to, but the speediness of the bat makes sense - it's a vampire, creature of the night!

The visuals - stunning. The backgrounds, the transition animation, the bat flying and collecting blood, it's all amasing! And i love the colors you chose, a lovely combination, especially for a game about vampires)

And the song - it's beautiful, and very fitting, adds up to the atmosphere a lot!

This is a lovely game!

Incredible! I saw the preview but the game is so focused in its mechanics yet so satisfying, it feels good to move and the bouncing around is pretty fun, the combo system is simple yet motivating, the story is both creepy and cute, the art is very retro yet so personal. Great!

Oh my god, what an absolutely well rounded game. The flying mechanic with the limited site and the moths... all while trying to frantically press E when visible. So much fun. And incredible visuals, art and animation. Most likely my top game, really amazing!

Very cool game. In my first play through, I initially didn't even know I was supposed to be getting a multiplier or what the purpose of the butterflies were. I assumed they extended my time in the level or something. After I understood, I gave up on level 4 after several tries, but I just felt frustrated that I wasn't able to find the windows fast enough. It wasn't until coming here and reading the comments did I realize how important headphones/earbuds are for this game. They are required to pass the later levels. After that, I came back and cleared each level in my first try and got a score of about 10,000. I think a lot of players are probably running into the audio thing and don't how much that helps. I really loved the art of the game, some of the best I have seen in this jam so far. And the audio was stellar as well, even before I realized how crucial it was to the game. I do think the levels could be a bit shorter. I think people will be frustrated at the time commitment and loss of said time upon losing a level and having to restart. I think these kind of games really shine when the player's toolkit expands with the difficulty of the game. As in, new things to use; abilities, movements, etc. Things to help against the rising difficulty, because then the difficulty can also come from having to spread themselves over a wider variety of tools and think about how to use them, but also use them over a more difficult set of challenges. I know that can be hard to pull off in a jam, but maybe for future development of this game. Overall, I think this was an excellent entry and y'all should be very proud of this one. Well done :)

I gave up at like level 4 or something. But it was still a fun experience till then.

It took me several times trying and setting the game down to come back to it before I was finally able to beat it.  Very fun game.  The controls initially felt very floaty/weird but once I got them down, it felt really good to move around (it was so much easier for me when I switched to a gamepad instead of the keyboard).  The art is gorgeous, and so is the music, though the song did get a little repetitive since it took me so long to win :P

My favorite part was the heartbeat sound effect.  The change in panning was subtle, but listening closely to that was the thing that ultimately let me win in the end after several times of not even getting close on the last level.

Really fun, and I'm glad I came back to beat it; I can rest easy now knowing I didn't let my poor sister down :)

i remember seeing your art on the discord as well, i love how the title screen and background art turned out! AMazing artwork and gameplay!!

Very very fun game!  It's really fun zipping around at max speed. I love the freedom of all of the mobility  skills!

One issue i sorta had was that the levels are quite long for a strict pass/fail condition that had me retrying levels 3-4 times in my playthrough (some not in the video) and the problem was the levels are kinda long to redo. On the last level i played, i got to like 95% and failed so it was like a big momentum loss to try the level again.

Also felt like it stung because i already played the first level twice before i stopped and finally read the instructions (facepalm). I learned i had to press "E" on the windows lol.

So i'm a bit ashamed to admit i played level 1 twice just eating the lightning bugs and moths

(i tend to jump into games without reading cus i wanna test what the game teaches directly and what i might accidentally gloss over or miss that causes confusion). I think a tooltip " [E] Harvest" pop up over the windows would make it foolproof to foolish wizards like me who skipped all instructions. If you didn't catch that instruction somehow, the small "E" tooltips were so short on the screen since the bat moves fast, at first glance I actually thought they were little energy caniesters I was collecting like these:

Really really nice work! Had a blast playing :)

Hey, that's instructive!

Thanks for that complete feedback. You're right about "you don't have to read to learn the mechanics"!

Seeing your gameplay (thanks for it btw!), I'm asking myself if you got that the heartbeat actually gives the instruction of where to go (left/right) from your position, it helps a lot!

Anyway all what you're saying is damn right and I'm taking big notes for the next game I'll made!

Thanks for playing :)

Really cool game! Found the game challenging but it was still pretty fun, there was a jump to difficulty when I reached level 4 and after a good amount tries I gave up lol.  I also loved the art and music, the vibe and style were off the charts. Overall great job!

Wonderful Art. Super Jealous I can't do art like this, but overall, a cute game. Had issues with the "E" key not opening windows, so for many I was making multiple passes. Great music and style choices. Good job all round to the team.

Great game, a little hard but still fun,  both the art and music are amazing.

The later levels are unplayable without a headphone :3

Heyyyy this is actually a nice score! Here's my PB  :D

What a fast game, the last level was so hard, no delay, only going from window to window. My final scores were 5570. Very nice game. The artworks also nice, there was a cool looking moon.

Developer

gg for completing all levels! That game is indeed not simple :)

I like how unique this game is. It gets pretty challenging too, which is nice. I love the artwork, and the field of view looks really nice. Great game!

so, i played though it, levels 1 and 2 im like 'this is a fun little bounce around game, kinda flat gameplay though' then i time out in level 3 and go 'oh, i have a dash' and honestly using the dash isn't satisfying (or easy) and i fail to see how its supposed to help me in the game, yes the increased movespeed is nice but its so fast that i miss moths and more importantly its too fast for me to reliably see if im passing by a window, the sound design doesn't help with that either, i was relying entirely in visual cues to pixel hunt the next white window and while i got past level 3 level 4 is where i quit.
solid game overall and a nice use of theme.

Developer

Argggh, I think you'll get it with a little more practice! But we know the game is a bit difficult for most players.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback, though!

Really satisfying sound design.

The gameplay is very polished in this game, super simple to understand, funny to play. The theme is well connected. The sound is really good but the music can feel a bit repetitive sometimes. Solid entry, very good job.

this is kinda masterful game design. you took in incredibly simple goal (get to a point on a 2D plane before time runs out) and managed to complicate it, not by adding obstacles to prevent progress, but by severely limiting the player's ability to observe and accurately navigate the space. so the game is incredibly easy to get into because there are no hard limits on what you can do, but it's incredibly satisfying to master because every component you'd normally take for granted in a 2D game is either limited or subverted.

normally the Quirky Control Scheme-type game has issues with immersion because they're so laden with absurdism, but because there's such an interesting and coherent audiovisual aesthetic here, i never felt disconnected from the world. and you managed to portray a lot of variety in location without having to stray far from the core visual style of the game, which adds another layer of believability, while also making a full playthrough a lot more interesting than if it was just copy-pasted houses all the way through.

basically i like everything goin' on here. good work

Thank you so much, this comment made my day! That is exactly what we were aiming to achieve with this game, I'm so glad it came across to you.
