Super intriguing art style, I loved the expressions on Bianca's face throughout. The atmosphere was portrayed super nicely with the sound effects too. Congrats on your first game!

I just witnessed peak writing

The art was gorgeous and the story telling was AMAZING and DEEP! I lowk felt evil making her stay awake ngl 😭
And it is VERY SURPRISING that THIS is your first game! VERY polished! 10/10!
That was very deep, thank you for treating of this subject. For our game, we also wanted to talk about mental health because it is important to us, so I felt compassion while playing your game. There was some little things that I would've liked for example being able to skip the intro after a good ending but for a first game you did an amazing job ! Keep at it!
This was such a great game, I loved the art especially! I really like that there were little minigames mixed in as well :D
What an experience! This was so well done. The art style was great, and I loved going through and getting all of the endings. I got chills from some of your sound design near the end of the "Bianca Can't Sleep" ending, really great stuff. It takes guts to aim for such dark subject matter in a jam game, but you pulled it off beautifully. Great storytelling. I wished I could skip the intro text the second time around, and I did encounter a few things that seemed like bugs (keypresses didn't do anything in the cat/mouse game, and the "are you sure you want to go to the main menu" option opened itself every time I selected a chapter), but nothing that prevented me from finishing or enjoying the game.
This was beautiful. Really great work; hopefully we'll be seeing more from you in the future :)
Really well made game and beautiful evocative art, the simple choice really worked for the kind of story you were telling. The one thing I'll mention for in the future when doing 1bit is that you have some half transparent artifacting throughout, I'm guessing that happened through resizing images (the house picture on the wall is particularly smooth) and from using a rounded brush (if your brush is round then it will leave little half transparent pixels in the corners and in the thickest parts of lines). Either way is is a beautiful and well made game, I hope you do more game jams because this is a great start!
This was heartbreaking and beautiful. I love the art and story. I also love how compassionate and real this is. Thank you for sharing and I feel you really. <3
This is Incredible! I can't believe this is ur first game!! Great job being able to integrate minigames + actual narrative + sincere messaging + beautiful art with personality in such a short time frame. Thank u for the experience :D
The graphics in this entry are amazing, the textures and the two colors look really good. The audio fits with the gameplay and the style. All this combined with the relaxed gameplay create an insightful experience. Amazing job here, very good game.
Wow, absolutely stunning, espacially for a first game, love it …
Wow, just... wow. Great game, great art, and great story.
Keep up the GREAT work.
That was so good! Congrats on the first game. I wasn’t expecting this type of game. Have a good sleep everyone <3
First off, thank you so much for letting me know. And for attempting to play my game! lol.
That is definitely weird. There are 8 endings that involve sleeping, but have different dreams and dialogue. Some have different versions of Bianca sleeping. You can unlock more chapters by continuing to select "No", and selecting "Sleep" at different points of the play through. Chapters can be viewed and selected from the Main Menu via the Game Chapters button. Are you in the same or different chapters when getting the same ending?
And I am so sorry for the main menu bug, I don't know what's making that happen. I'm assuming if the "Home Button" is pressed, and not pressed again, it leaves open the little UI box, and maybe triggers when a new scene begins. Maybe that is happening?
I am very sorry that you're experiencing this!!
Wow, I’m amazed that all of this was made during the jam! Great story and great choices. I loved how my choices actually mattered and helped me learn more about the story. The minigames were good too!
The only thing I didn’t understand was Chapter 5. I was moving left and right, but nothing seemed to happen, so I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to do.
Overall, great game and great art style. Keep it up!
Also, I should report a small bug: sometimes the Main Menu button activates by itself and asks me if I want to return to the main menu, even though I didn’t click it.
Thank you so much! The minigames were my favorite to make.
Unfortunately you can only really move Bianca from side to side via arrow keys whilst clicking the text boxes to read dialogue. I was hoping to make it so you could only interact with text boxes if you moved Bianca closer to them, but unfortunately was unable to implement it due to time.
Ah, that is unfortunate as well! Thank you for letting me know, I'm sorry that you experienced that.
Wow! Amazing game! And your first?! It's really impressive! Any of the little minigames (food making, cat & mouse, and house exploring) could have been their own game but you implemented all of them wow. The art is incredible and the art style is really unique in a good way! At first, I thought "no way is this only two colors", but somehow it is. There were so many scenes and all of them were beautiful, I'm really impressed. And the story was amazing; you really captured the experience and to be honest I nearly cried at the backstory. Poor Bianca. I also appreciate the ability to restart at a particular chapter to get the other endings instead of having to start from the beginning.
I also saw your reply about how you haven't been commenting on other entries. That is perfectly okay, no judgement at all, it is not required or necessary, however, I really do recommend it, because some people, including myself, prioritize playing the games of people who played and rated theirs, but they can only see the profile and game submission of the people who commented. So, commenting is a good way to get some extra people to play, and yours really deserves it. And of course, most importantly, leaving helpful, kind, or encouraging comments is a great way to brighten up the game creator's day.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm glad you liked it, and I'm sorry it almost made you cry! With having that many endings, I knew unlocking chapters was a must, as annoying as it was to put together haha. Thank you!
Thank you for telling me this. I didn't understand how impactful and important the comments could be. I've started commenting and will definitely be doing it more. I appreciate it!
Oh hey, a fellow GDevelop user! I was extremely surprised to read that this was your first game and first game jam. Truly, outstanding work for your first one. The game itself was great (I love narrative games), but I did find the text to go a bit slow and you can't really skip it, so it you do have to wait which isn't ideal. Overall though, stellar job. Can't wait to see what you come up with next.
Holy cow this is your first jam?? this is great! minigames great art great music multiple tracks even a great narrative everything is just so perfect! I didn’t end up finishing it since I’m really not in the mood for topics like these but I enjoyed what I played! Favorite game in the jam till now, keep going!
edit: the only feedback I can give has to do with the text: 1- it’s waay too slow for me, this either needed a settings for the player to set text speed or a button that skips the “text being written section” 2- as you can see, how the text currently works is that it’s gradually adding letters to the textbox to simulate how typing looks. which is great, but text wrapping fucks with it. what you should be doing instead is having all text already prewritten and prewrapped just make it gradually become visible. this removes the “last word gets written in the top line but when it turns out too big it snaps into the bottom line”
but this is just nitpicking ofc, great game!
edit: I’m (more like we’re) interested in jamming with you, if you are interested feel free to reach out to me on discord at @sir_lime so we discuss details
(and first game! lol) You are so kind, thank you so much! I completely agree, the text is pretty bad. There is an option to click the first word, and that should show the entirety. I'll make sure to add it to the game page to assist future players. And the text wrapping isn't great either, I agree. Thank you so much for the feedback. I also really loved your game. I will definitely be reaching out!!
The art for this game is so gorgeous, love the sketchy look that fits in so well with the more ominous atmosphere. All the shifts between gameplay styles was also super neat, lovely work!
