Great concept! I found it a little difficult to control, maybe the ball felt a little light / bouncy?  Otherwise, very fun and felt satisfying to run the ball through an entire wave of enemies.

The VOD for the review is linked below and will be available for 60 days:

Can't go wrong with pinball :)

I sometimes had the paddles clip or tunnel through the ball, so it just teleported underneath them. you can sometimes fix things like that by turning on Solver->Continuous CD on the rigidbodies, or if you've already done that and it didn't work, sometimes you can get around it with some clever raycasts.

I still enjoyed it! massive dopamine hit from getting the ball into the side area the enemies were spawning from.

Thanks a lot always appreciate tips. First time I mess with a physics based 3D game with the engine :)

I noticed that issue but thought it was just because we made the paddle faster last minute.

Turns out it's that I enabled that setting but only on the right paddles!

Glad the bug didn't fully ruin the game :D

Will fix it ASAP after jam voting ends

2 cool games in 1

nice idea

Developer

Thanks!

I love the concept, but the game is a bit too fast paced for me. The only time I actually have a chance to upgrade my tower is when the ball gets stuck😭

Developer

You can try and hold the ball by keeping a paddle up if you need a second or two to think. Thanks for trying our game. Hope you enjoyed it!

Cool idea! Felt a bit overwhelming in practice though, I barely paid attention to the upgrades because it was like playing 3 games at once (maybe making it run-based would solve that by having you buy upgrades permanently between attempts? you'd surely be stepping further into the incremental territory). Regardless, nice entry!

Original genre crossover :) I had fun, I liked the graphics, it didn't load that slow for me (most 3d games load a bit slower, so nothing unusuall), but glad you put a warning in description :) edit: only after playing and reading comments now I understand how player's tank works, didn't figure that out at first, maybe it's worth to add it in the description as well 😅 second edit: oh, it is there already, I just did not understand it at first or missed it, silly me 😅 Still had fun!

Thank you for playing our game and for your kind words! Yeah, we had originally planned to have some sort of indication of the function of the recruitment area but, as you can see, it didn't quite make the cutoff :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for giving a second chance after you missed one of the mechanics. its very appreciated! Hope you liked it

Loved the idea of pinball and tower defence. I felt that I didn't have enough time with everything else going on to focus too much on the upgrades so ended up just mashing them when I had a chance, maybe I missed a pause mechanic or I'm just too bad at the game!

Developer

Good idea.

I'll add a pause feature and highlight which upgrades are purchasable when your score is high enough for it after jam :)

Fire concept. Unsure whether the physics are a bit off or I just suck at pinball.

Developer

Thank you!
Think it's physics being a bit random and definitely found a bug on the left paddle specifically I'll fix.

Friend showed me you could put animator callbacks in physics to make them better sync with physics but forgot left/rigth paddles were separate prefabs and to slap that fix on left paddle :>

As stated, tower defense pinball is an exciting idea. I liked the manic energy of the pinball as it racked up points that I could actually spend instead of just going for a high score. I has some trouble aiming overall, but the concept is good.

Developer(+2)

Thank you for playing our game! When you say you had trouble aiming do you mean that the ball was not going where you think it should be going?

Submitted(+1)

Not going where I want it to rather, but I think it's a skill issue.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I think part of it is it's physics based if I started over I'd probably do it more kinematic instead

Pinball meets tower defence is an interesting idea!

I think the path the enemies take to your base is a bit too straightforward and the amount of turret bases and other interactibles to aim at. I couldn't figure out how to send a tank, RMB did nothing for me.

Developer

Ffor the record you need to trigger all 3 switches on the upper left and then send the ball on the circle trigger behind them.  Once they are spawned you can control them like starcraft units. The tanks are pretty strong so they are hard to get. Thanks for the feedback and for trying our game. Glad you liked it!
