That's one expensive tuna sandwich. Stunning artwork and the music fit the theme so well. Very chilled game and made me chuckle when they disappeared under the table with their groceries.

nice game overall! i like the design, and art!, but it would have been better if i had more context while starting

Overall, very well done! There are a few things I would change. I feel like more customers with lower budgets would add some interesting decision-making. Also, I really wish there was some indication of what recipe the customer wants and what their budget is, especially that second one.

Developer

Hi Anonymous Grape Octopus. Thanks for your feedback. Would love to get more customers in alright. Just ran out of time! Great note though. The customers do tell you what they want and their budget… have another play of it and see!

Submitted

What I mean is I wish there was a way to tell what they want and what their budget is after they initially tell you. If you forgot and you make them say new things, then you're kinda just screwed.

Developer

ahh I get you. Good feedback. Thanks.

I'm over here crying because what I have here is not going to make much of a tuna fish sandwich

That is in essence very charming indeed. Really cozy vibe. I like cozy games when there is no time pressure and you truelly delivered on that.

I love this end to end. What a great interpretation of the theme and such an excellent execution!

The art is so gorgeous. The vibe with the radio is spot on. The little quips from the characters. This very much gives me “Thank Goodness You’re Here!” vibes. Playing this feels like it’s a sub level out of that game. I was about to say condensed down to jam size, but no, you’ve managed to do way more than a jam scope here. Great job!

Developer

thank you. We had lots of fun making it.

really liked it, was a bit hard though

Very simple and intuitive controls :) Nice that there is a note about rotating items both in description and in-game itself (second customer told me about it I think). Had to think what can be replaced with what, had fun, nice game with nice graphics and very cozy music, would play the hell out of it in old flash games era :)

Cool idea and art is great. Would be nice to be able to swap items in the basket

Submitted

Oh and may I ask how did you make that highlight around objects on the table?

Developer(+1)

Oh that one is just an image swap rather than a shader or anything clever! It's an outer glow layer style in image editing software.  Good idea on the image swap, I'll see if i can bring it in post-jam! Thanks so much for playing!

This game is very cool! I like the mechanics and the idea :). I feel pretty bad for selling these people things that they dont need but at the end >I got told that I should cheat them more lol.

EDIT: it was a me fault I back up the oppinion I had here

Submitted

very nice art, I wish I could draw as good as you!

Developer

thank you!!  :)

This is such a fun game! It looks great, and I love your interpretation of the theme. I really enjoyed the puzzle elements of fitting the items and the budget. The art style looks amazing, and the customers slowly disappearing behind the counter made me laugh. One thing that might be helpful for accessibility would be the option to see the text from item labels more closely or typed out, I'm dyslexic and I had a little bit of a hard time reading some of the smaller or cursive labels, though I was able to figure everything out from the art which was nice. Really great work on this, I would definitely keep playing it if you decided to make more!

Developer(+1)

That is a great point about adding clearer ways to see the text. I'm hoping to continue work on this one and this is now on the list. I'll also keep it in mind for future jams. Thank you for playing and for the thoughtful feedback!

Really good theme interpretation, I absolutely adore the art. It's very charming and a fun little puzzle to see how much money you can squeeze out of people! I wanted there to be more characters with different wants, but that could be expanded later post-jam.
Also: the way the customers collapsed under the counter when they were finished literally got me every time. Absolutely sensational.

I liked how you interpreted the theme, and I love the art style!

Love the concept!

Thats a cool use of charging, I wasnt that creative with it. its great that you can have different ingridients for one item

Submitted

Nice interpretation of Charge. I've had the same idea :D

The graphic is super cool such as the music.
