How does the game fit the theme?
Borrowed Skin is built around the theme “Trust No One.” Trapped inside a failing military bunker, the player must question each survivor’s story, piece together conflicting evidence, and decide whom to trust before the lights go out. Every decision affects who survives and which ending is reached. Even the protagonist’s own memories may not be trustworthy.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
The game was built using Godot Engine and Audiokinetic Wwise with its Godot integration. We used Tiny Texture Pack 2 by Screaming Brain Studios, along with the Pixelify Sans and Press Start 2P fonts under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. All other game-specific code, writing, characters, models, props, environments, UI, visual effects, music, sound effects, voice acting, and artwork were created by our team during the jam.

Incredible story for a one week game jam, I liked all of the characters!

This one was pretty incredible. It felt very polished, there were a couple very small issues and some things could have been nice to have but I adored the style. The gameplay was decent. The few things I wish were that the 3d world would reflect some of what was said like the pistol was still on the desk even after I got it. I wish that when it said the lights flicker or turn red that happened but it didn't really break me out of the game. The models, art, and writing were all great. I was somewhat confused at the start as to what happened but it became clearer as I progressed. Aesthetics were pleasing. It felt a little too obvious who the baddie was but it's profoundly better than not being able to tell at all haha.

The other issue was there was some hitching during load each time the scene changed I think. Only when I looked around. I've run into similar issues myself on webgl, my solution is a little dumb but it's to hide the camera view with a UI element and then spin the camera around and point it at the things that cause the initial loading lag and then once I feel comfortable it's probably all cached or whatever I turn off the UI element.

Anyway fantastic job on this one.

I also liked how polished your menus and stuff were too.

Really enjoyed this, and was really enjoying the story but could not find out how to advance after the lights went out! I had spoken to everyone and found the missing tray in the kitchen, the rations, and the fuse.

I would really like to finish  this one, if you could give me some hints on how to proceed?

For a 3D game it played ok in browser, but sometimes the mouse wouldn't capture

Thank you for the feedback. There has been an update that fixes the tracking in the tablet, for some reason it didn't show properly but now it should be easier to track what you should do. As for the mouse we tried but there was no way to keep it in the game if the tab lost focus. For now the only workarounds are to not alt tab, click outside or if you do to navigate and talk to somebody which fixes it.

An insanely beautiful game! The storyline is also really well-developed :)

Great submission!

The chef's name (Emil) sounds like and the portrait looks like a man but the character model looks like a woman?!

The transitions between the story beats could be made more clear - it's just a very short black screen now. I'm assuming that you did it this way because there are no walking animations and you position the character models where they need to be. However the first two times it happened it seemed like a technical issue. It would be nice to write some notice and prompt the player to continue.

I encountered a problem that can be expected in a free roaming narrative game - I searched through the entire bunker early including examining the door to the Utility room. Therefore it was a bit unexpected that I needed to examine it again to trigger the next story beat. Maybe you can include logic to check if the player found it and transition to the next beat automatically?

I got to the point where the engineer changed the fuse, the lights went out and it seems there's nothing I can do to advance to the next beat. Please advise. I would like to play through it so that I can share my full impression.

There is so much going on here: excellent visuals, a very VERY in-depth story and fantastic audio and music! The atmosphere was very tense through the part of the game I was able to get to, will pick this one back up later for sure!

Really good game ! I'm amazed you could do all that in a week, you seem to have a solid team here :o

I really liked the atmosphere and the work you put in the narrative (I love narrative-driven games).
