How does the game fit the theme?
Although there is no person-to-person interaction in this game that was rapidly made in about 5 days, there are definitely certain scenes that will test whether you should trust or not. For instance, in the third room, should you trust the person who wrote the record? Or the person who recorded it into the computer? (If you can even get there, that is...)

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
None! All by myself, an Indie Developer!

How many people worked on the game?

Building a full mystery escape game in PICO-8 for a jam is such a cool, ambitious move

Looking forward to where you take Chapter 2

i have no idea what to do ;-;

Nice going with Pico-8! Unfortunately, i couldnt get past the first room(the one you spawn in). Maybe add a tutorial or smth? idk tho

Pico-8 was a bold pick, and it paid off! The pixel art and the sound set the mood really well, especially for something you made alone. Congrats! Also happy to see that you will keep working on the game!

Submitted

Hey I still was not able to beat the first room lol, it would be nice maybe if there is a skip or hint option in game for those who get stuck. would be cool to see what else is hidden in the game... it is a mystery for me.

Glad to hear you're making chapter 2.

Thanks for playing and for the positive words!

Nice! Puzzles were fun!

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the puzzles!

Interesting use of Pico-8! I did find some of the puzzles a little difficult to figure out, but it’s a very cool idea for a game overall.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Using pico-8 was a bit of a challenge due to some of its limitations, but I got creative!

It was really fun to play once I got the hang of the game! Good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing! And I'm glad you could figure out the rooms!

I really like pico8 games! and it was a nice little puzzle game. needed to switch browser though, i think OperaGX has a “back” button for Z haha. Nice job!

Really nice game and loved the pixel art and music!

I would appreciate a little hint or a simple tutorial level but that could just be skill issue on my part haha

Overall great entry and well done on doing it all yourself in such a short time period :D

Developer

Thanks for the kind feedback! I'll take the hints into consideration as the game continues to develop

a pico8 game is great. I had a little trouble solving the puzzles, but it's a good game.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for the feedback! Using pico-8 for this kind of game was definitely a challenge!

Very simple game to pick up. I know it was in Pico 8, but the music was just not it for me, very repetitive. The puzzles were difficult as well.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

I liked the art and theme, but could not figure out the first puzzle.

My guess was that you had to put into the door what the missing letters were from the sentence in the interactables?

If that is correct, I was not sure what the bed word was supposed to be (Hot?), and I also found the font hard to decipher the letters, but I understand that is due to the nature of a Pico8 game.

Developer (1 edit)

Yes, the bed word is hot. However, after finding all 3 letters from the objects, they form a word so they are not in any particular order! Thanks for checking the game out!

I am not very smart so ı couldnt solve the puzzles but pico 8 definetly brave choice also the visuals and the auido great cohesion

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I'll check ur game out too!

Thanks for the kind feedback! I'll make sure to check out ur game when i get on a pc

Cool artstyle and music, but the puzzles might be a bit too much for me to handle ;-;

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for your feedback and for playing the game!

I wish I could see how far these puzzles go, but my smooth brain was tired in just the second room. Probably a little too difficult for the average player, and even a few straightforward rooms at the beginning could make it a bit less frustrating.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! As the development continues, I'll make sure to include some levels that are not as difficult to ensure all players feel included!
