How does the game fit the theme?
The levels cannot be trusted. They include traps that the player must be careful not to fall for.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
I used an asset pack for the tileset, and got the sound effects online. I also re used the key sprite from a previous game. Everything else was made from scratch by me.

While the game is short, these levels are worked out really well! The movement is satisfying and the traps always get you, but are easy enough to dodge once you figured them out, so you don't get stuck on a single part. Well done!

Thanks!

Really solid game! I thought I found a secret to the right in level 2, but that was a big scam haha. Would have loved more levels!

Developer

You found the secret! I didn't have time for more levels unfortunately.

A good entry and especially good level design! Great work

Developer

Thanks!

Solid game. I really liked the art style, and the levels were well built. I actually jumped in the pit at the end of level 2, thinking I was outsmarting the suspicious platform XD. would have been nice to have music but amazing game overall!

Developer

Thank you!

Great game! I feel like there could be more levels though. Nevertheless good job!

Developer

Thanks! I wish I had more time for levels

Quite fun, controls are smooth. Can see the inspiration and familiar themes from other don't trust the level games

Developer

Thanks!

Better than the real level devil ngl. Wish there was music.

Developer

Thanks!

This is exactly the type of game I was hoping to play when the theme came out! The Level Devil style obstacles and very smooth player movement definitely made the gameplay feel very polished! The pixel art and sounds fit well together perfectly, maybe some music would add to the game feel? Overall a soild game, I really enjoyed it!

Developer

Thank you!

It's pretty fun to play. I wish it had more levels :(. With good music and more difficulty settings, it could be a great game for passing the time :D

Developer

Thanks! I wish I had more time for levels, unfortunately not though.

I ran into a bug(?) where if you press R to restart the level during the death animation, your character respawns but you can't move. Maybe that's an intended troll xD

Developer

Not intended. I could fix it, or leave it ;)

Thanks

An unfair platformer!!! What a find! Really fun to play — it manages the balance between frustration and enjoyment really well. You could even add a death counter just for fun. Great job!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you! A death counter is a good idea.

It reminds me a lot of Trap Dungeon 2 and Level Devil. Overall, this game is very cool!

Developer

Thanks!

This is really fun to play

Developer

Thanks!

Your welcome.

A fun little platformer with tight controls and a cute artstyle, with the theme of the game being untrustworthy by constantly throwing traps in your way being a really funny way to interpret it, even if there's been a lot of "troll games" in the past. There were moments that made me laugh even when they made me die like the part where part of a cut-off platform came back to where originally was and pushed me off, and the game felt lax enough not to feel excessively frustrating or unpredictable. I do wish there was some music since the game feels a bit empty with just sounds.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I will add some music eventually after the game jam.

Cute little troll game!

Also: You can fix the camera jitter around the player by setting process_callback on the Camera2D to Physics (The same process call as the player movement code)

Developer(+1)

I didn't know that. Thanks!

I don't know if it's only me, but I can't interact with anything. It looks like "E" does nothing anywhere. I Didn't even manage to pop up a menu for crafting or anything. Sad.

Developer

Sorry maybe I wasn't clear enough. E  is to open locked doors. Thanks for playing my game!

Hey, I made it through both levels. Nice game! It reminded me of the troll levels in Mario Maker. The character also felt really good to control.

Developer

Thanks!
